Today, I was suddenly reminded that not all fans are like me, who enjoy analyzing whatever media I’m consuming. Some people just watch/read for fun and don’t care about the details.

So when somebody called me out for being critical of a work (not Blue Lock, btw, or any of the fandoms I usually engage in here), I was so close to blowing up on them… Like, what is wrong with you??? There’s nothing toxic about constructively criticizing the media etc. etc.

But before I hit send, I paused, took a deep breath, and calmed myself down. I thought, “Maybe this person just didn’t want to see any kind of hate on something they love”-- which I fully understand.

I wasn’t being irrationally hateful about it, though, but it may have come across like that.

Different people have different ways of enjoying media. For me, it’s dissecting the media down to pieces and finding meaning and connections between them (i.e. writing metas, theories, etc.). For others, it’s simply appreciating the pretty visuals, but that doesn’t make their way of enjoyment any less.

So anyways, what I’m trying to say is, if you ever find me annoying for being critical, just unfollow me right now or block me. Because I’m not gonna stop doing it. Or, you could block the tags I use for my thoughts/metas: #lznktol and #lznkmeta
