Tonight’s Full Moon is called the Strawberry Moon because of its slight reddish tint. Tonight also brings us the second of four lunar eclipses this year. The eclipse will reach peak visibility in about an hour - tragically it’s too light outside to see much of it. 𝕹𝖊𝖜 𝖘𝖐𝖎𝖓 𝖋𝖔𝖗 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝖔𝖑𝖉 𝖈𝖊𝖗𝖊𝖒𝖔𝖓𝖞 Lucius Nothing was always an artist name placeholder. It’s the name I’ve kept returning to in-between experiments with new identities and expressions as a creative throughout my twenties. Lately, I’ve been waiting for a more permanent, dare I say more mature, artist name to suggest itself, one that’ll work for the next chapter/s, one that’ll work for music, for writing, for tarot, for any new facet I might add to my expression in the future, without the need for multiple social media handles, etc. Because that stuff’s just stressful. I’m stronger when I’m in one place, but doing more than one thing. It’s just my natural form - I’m a creative octopus. And so it’s time for me to unite my passions and expressions under one banner and move forward as one force. I’m replacing Nothing with Ravn, spelled the Danish way without an e, but you can pronounce it the same way you would the English raven. Ravens are creatures of prophecy. They have the ability to move freely between the worlds and dimensions. They exist in liminal space. A raven is a suitable symbol for me and my desire to bring the things I find in my inner landscape out into the world. To drive the point home, I’ve kept seeing ravens everywhere lately. They’ve been following me. I’m taking my own advice from the Eight of Swords (see my Story from today) and making my escape from the Tower to a new chapter. We’ve got to love our children even if they are mutants, don’t we? Especially if they’re mutants. I'm finally building myself a new website - I’ll be sharing it with you here very soon - and this breakthrough thought occurred to me while I was banging my head on the keyboard. What if it doesn't have to look like Lady Gaga's production team made it? Maybe it just needs to be there, to contain all the right elements, to be clear and easy to navigate, and to look, sound and feel authentically like me. We can't all be the McDonald's of pop, nor should that be the yardstick by which I or other independent artists measure our efforts. If there was only space for mass-produced creators backed by multi-million dollar labels and brand sponsorships, where would we be? There’s a space for me as an independent creator. There’s a shelf whereon what I do belongs.
