Mm just realized being on tumblr make me feel nostalgic bcs ive been playing Line Play since 2016.
and the game is like social media with avatar dress up and mini games (mini games has sadly been removed tho now). To actually get content you have to be mutual with the other player. And you search for other player through square, randomly click on player from other player's diary (where you post stuff), or you can randomly visit a player's house and stalk them.
You can ask to be friends from private guest book, and you can stalk their public guest book with other player. And i found the conversation most of the time funny.
There used to be a lounge where you can just pick chatroom divided by interest, region, or a random chatroom with maximum of 10 and 5 players. And thats how i learned to type fast bcs the conversation flow there is insane.
The square there is also place where you can afk and watch many conversations happening at once. Like being in an actual public places. You can randomly join other people, or talking with other loners (lol).
In a way my second social media ever is Lineplay (after FB) and it's also my first interaction experience with total stranger ive been friends with.

Love’s The Death Of Peace Of Mind — Pt. 1
pairing: noah sebastian x reader
summary: you and your best friend, noah, messed around a few times. then bad omens releases their third album, and certain songs and lyrics hit a little too close to home.
warnings: none.
masterlist. tdopom masterlist.
Tumblr media
You’d slept longer than you would have liked. Waking up at 11:30AM was completely unexpected, but you could care less, especially since you don’t have work today.
With a full-body stretch and dramatic yawn, you slide off your bed. You wobble on your feet for a moment, then find your balance to walk into the bathroom.
What the mirror shows you is awful: dark bags under your eyes, tangled hair, creases along your cheek from where you had been positioned against your pillows. Your reflection makes you cringe. But you don’t do anything to remedy your appearance as you do your business. (You do, at least, rake your fingers through your hair in an attempt at taming it.)
When you’re finished, you shamble back into your room and promptly flop down onto your bed. You’ve been working like crazy recently, so the exhaustion that has tightly gripped you is warranted. But you are not enjoying it, even if you’re the one that has been picking up extra shifts. This one is on you, not the universe.
You groan inwardly as you push yourself upward. You reach for your phone that’s plugged in on your nightstand, then shift into a sitting position against your headboard as you begin your morning social media routine.
Your Instagram is flooded with posts upon posts about Bad Omens’ new album. You immediately curse yourself for forgetting the album’s release date had been much sooner than you’d initially expected.
As you continue scrolling through your feed and swiping through stories, you keep seeing the same image. It was a woman, completely nude, hunched over on a bench of sorts. The red scenery was almost too much, but you couldn’t stop yourself from loving the album art choice. It was simple yet beautiful but eye-catching, and it stood out in a way you knew only Noah would have seen.
Oh god.
Noah.
Noah, your best friend, worked so fucking hard on this third LP. He is too much of a perfectionist to not get every little detail just right. You witnessed him do vocal takes over and over countless times. You saw him scrap samples that you had personally loved. The pride he’s feeling at the media’s response must be overwhelming for him, but in the best way possible. He deserves the recognition.
However, you know that the lead up to the release date had been memorable for both of you. Just not in the way of songwriting or mixing tracks.
It had started roughly a month after your ex broke up with you, about a year and a half ago. You were hanging out with Noah at your apartment, music playing from your speaker as you were drawing on your iPad and Noah was, undoubtedly, writing lyrics for a song he was working on.
He had been singing along to the song was that had been playing, his voice distracting you from whatever you had been doing. If you remember correctly, it was Science & Faith by The Script, a song you love dearly. And the way he had sang along — at first soft and quiet, almost absentmindedly, then using his entire chest like a live performance — captured your attention completely.
You’d watched him until the song ended, his gaze never leaving his journal. Then he was reaching out for his mug of tea and he caught your eye.
“What?” he’d asked.
A small smile. “Nothing,” you told him. “Just really love your voice.”
Noah had continued singing along to the songs that came on, and you just kept watching. The air became charged and vibrated with a tension you had never felt around Noah. But then that tension had snapped when your eyes had met, Give by Sleep Token wrapping around you both.
Suddenly your lips were on each other and previous tasks were forgotten. You had gladly let Noah have his way with you.
Afterwards, you agreed that such an intimate experience wouldn’t tarnish your friendship. And it didn’t! But then it happened again. And again. And again.
The last time you two had messed around was six months ago. Your constant texting and phone calls dwindled over those months, and you couldn’t bring yourself to do anything about it. And apparently, neither could Noah.
Something in your friendship had changed, but neither one of you had wanted to acknowledge it. You had simply decided that putting distance between each other would fix whatever happened. But it didn’t fix anything; it just made you miss and crave him more as the days went by.
You have wanted Noah more than anything for years. You had thought there was something between you, but had been ultimately proven wrong.
Shrugging off the memories, you close out of Instagram to open up Spotify, and you are immediately met with THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND. You nibble on your bottom lip for just a moment before you’re tapping play, keeping shuffle off.
As you listen to the album you remain sitting in bed. You can feel the energy and excitement that overtakes you as you’re enjoying CONCRETE JUNGLE, then going slack jawed by the sheer talent present in Nowhere To Go. The sudden melancholy and regret that you’re met with from Take Me First takes you by surprise, but you’re loving the lyrics too much to dwell on those feelings.
The fourth track is the album’s namesake: THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND. The instrumental intro is awfully beautiful, and you’re nearly taken aback when the first verse begins.
Noah’s voice is gorgeous. It is so soothing and comforting, and then you’re closing your eyes to take it all in. For a moment, you think you’re somewhere else.
Different bed sheets beneath you. Heat radiates from every pore of your body. The curtains are drawn together and the only lights are the strips of LED you’ve always found a bit tacky. There are familiar hands grasping at your thighs and hips, hot breath against your skin. Lips on your neck and teeth biting—
You’re in the walls that I made, with crosses and frames
Hanging upside down
For granted, in vain, I took everything
I ever cared about
I miss the way you say my name
The way you bend, the way you break
Your makeup running down your face
The way you fuck, the way you taste
Your eyes fling open. You had been taken back to a memory, one you fear may never leave your mind. The pre-chorus has your heart racing uncontrollably, and you’re frozen in place as you continue listening. You have no words. There’s a sliver of you that knows Noah wrote that about you. But you aren’t completely certain when the next song starts.
The way What It Cost bleeds into Like A Villain shakes you out of your frozen stupor. The transition is beautiful and you find yourself falling for the lyrics.
Then bad decisions catches you off guard. It’s mellow compared to the front of the album, and even the entirety of Bad Omens’ discography. Still undeniably beautiful, you think.
Just Pretend has you reeling. You knew Noah had written it a few years before but did not expect him to actually use it for any upcoming records. There are a few lines you remember him telling you about from way back when, and you smile small at their presence in the song.
The back of the album is just as perfect. You find yourself resisting the urge to jump along to the addictive nature of What do you want from me? and the sucker punch that is ARTIFICIAL SUICIDE. And then Miracle, the closing track, is simply perfect in every way possible.
When the music stops, you suddenly feel all weird on the inside. There’s an overhanging sense of emptiness, but the weirdness coiling into a knot in the pits of your stomach prevents that void from sinking in fully.
THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND is a phenomenal record, front to back. It is beautifully produced, the instrumentals and lyricism working together in a way you’ve never heard before. You have no qualms about making it your album of the year (at least until Motionless In White’s new record in a couple months, that is).
But the beauty of the songs and lyrics does nothing to calm your nerves. The boys had been working hard on every single detail when you and Noah had messed around that handful of times. There was no denying the obvious inspiration Noah had derived from you.
You sit in silence for several minutes, debating on what to do. You know you need to text your friends and tell them how proud of them you are. It takes a bit to finally scrounge up that courage, then you’re finally closing Spotify and going in to your messages to text Noah first. But your thumb is hovering above his contact, almost as if you can’t find it in yourself to simply congratulate your best friend on such a huge success.
It’s embarrassing, really. You can’t ignore your own selfish feelings to just admit you’re fucking proud of him? Because you should be proud of your best friend.
So instead of messaging Noah, you search for the rest of the bands’ contacts. Maybe, this way, you can actually convince yourself to eventually applaud him if you do the same to his fellow band members, your mutual friends, first.
You: CONGRATS ON THE NEW ALBUM!! It is so beautiful and I’m so fucking proud of you! Your drumming is insane and I can’t wait to hear you fuck it up live 🖤🤯 I LOVE YOU!!!!!
Fisherman Folio🎣🥁: THANK YOU! Your support over the years means everything to us, and I can’t believe you’ve been here since the beginning. I love you too!!
You: CONGRATS ON THE NEW ALBUM!! I’m so fucking proud of you guys and it is soooo beautiful! The bass lines are incredible 🖤🖤 I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!
Nicholas🐱🩶: Thank you so much!! I’m so happy with how it came out and I’m happy you like it! Your support means everything. Love you <3
You: CONGRATS ON THE NEW ALBUM!! You went all out on the production and I could not be prouder of this beautiful record! The guitars are amazing (especially in artificial suicide like wtf?????) 🖤🖤 I LOVE YOU!!!!!
Jolly🎸☀️: Thank you! We worked super hard on it and the feedback has been so positive. Thank you for being here from day one. If it weren’t for you and Vincent we would not be where we are. Love you!!
The guys’ messages all bring tears to your eyes, but Jolly’s is the one that has the dam breaking. You smile at your phone as tears streak down your cheeks. Your heart is aching with the urge to hug them all.
A couple minutes later, when the tears have subsided and you’re wiping away the last few stragglers, your phone buzzes. From where it’s laying face up beside you on your bed you can see that it’s another text from Jolly. Your eyebrows pinch slightly in confusion as you pick up your phone.
Jolly🎸☀️: You haven’t said anything to Noah yet, have you?
The singular sentence has you swearing softly then biting your tongue. Jolly is basically your big brother, and he didn’t have to say anything before you were telling him everything about what had happened between you and Noah. He cares about both you and Noah too much to see anything come between you two. Especially considering Noah has been your best friend since he met Nicholas, and thus met you.
But the text bubble seems to be glaring up at you as you stare down at it. It’s not quite a secret that you and Noah haven’t talked in a while, so it’s almost as if Jolly’s text is mocking you. You hardly even react when you see those three little dots pop up and bob as Jolly types.
You sigh through your teeth. You hesitantly begin typing out a response, watching the dots pause and disappear.
You: No not yet
Jolly🎸☀️: Why?
You: Idk, doesn’t feel like my place ig
Jolly🎸☀️: You’re kidding right? Noah has been asking me if I’ve heard from you, if you’ve even listened to the album. He wants your feedback and attention and it’s getting really fucking annoying hearing him be mopey. He wants to hear from you ok? So for my sanity I say you at least text him a quick congrats, maybe your favorite song while you’re at it…
You: Fine, now fuck off and enjoy your huge accomplishment
Jolly doesn’t reply; all he does is like your response in acknowledgement. Which leaves you anxious as you hold your phone limply in your hands.
You breathe deeply. The phone in your hands is practically screaming at you to talk to Noah, to just let him know you listened. And you’re not sure what finally gets you to swipe away from your conversation with Jolly and opening yours with Noah. But you’re already typing and hitting send before you can take it back.
You: Congrats on the album! You’re insanely talented and you should be so proud of yourself! I’m torn between TDOPOM and Miracle as my favorite song :)
You toss your phone to the side, like it’s a bomb that is about to detonate. Having it in your grasp felt too dangerous. Letting it sit a couple feet away from you made you feel a bit better, you suppose.
The phone is silent for awhile. You remain sitting in the spot on your bed, terror bubbling in your chest as you wait for a notification of any kind. But the screen remains dark, and you keep chewing anxiously on your lip and tongue.
Maybe fifteen minutes later, you’re about to give up on waiting for a reply. Noah’s phone is probably blowing up from people congratulating him and the band, so it doesn’t seem worth idling by.
Then your phone vibrates. The screen switches on, and your screensaver is lighting up the singular notification present.
You already know who it’s from.
With shaking fingers, you unlock your phone and open up your messages. There’s one new text. Then another comes in when you press the contact.
Noah: Your love and support means the fucking world. I’m glad you were able to find some favorites lol
Noah: Ok look, I’m sorry if this is crossing a line or whatever but I just wanted you to know that there are a few songs and lyrics about you, if you didn’t catch onto that already. I miss you x

going thru all the lifting/racking tags on tumblr because i miss the lifting subreddit and thinking man. Why Is Everyone In Here Acting 12 and then the more i think about it its like oh yeah who else on planet earth would publicly post crimes they can be traced back to for aesthetic reasons. “hiiii here’s my itemized list of everything i took today, the prices, and what stores i went to so the cops can search thru all the camera footage and look for me easier and also clock fines on me for stuff they didnt even see me take!! ^_^ hehe”
HEY GUYS,
DO NOT POST TOO MUCH INFORMATION ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE DOING.
DO NOT POST IDENTIFYING INFORMATION ABOUT YOURSELF.
DO NOT USE THE OBVIOUS #SHOPLIFTING TAGS, OR ANY LIKE THEM TO SHARE METHODS OR TIPS.
DO NOT USE TIKTOK OR ANY OTHER MAINSTREAM SOCIAL MEDIA TO TALK ABOUT LIFTING HABITS (YOU SHOULDN’T EVEN BE POSTING IT ON TUMBLR. if you want to talk about it so badly, i recommend maybe a groupchat or something not publicly accessible.)
WHEN YOU DO THESE, YOU ARE RUINING IT FOR THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY AND/OR INCRIMINATING YOURSELF.
also, keep in mind that poor and homeless people lift, and they typically have a way harder time than you do because poor/homeless looking people get immediate suspicion from LP. (this can also include like, all minorities depending on how racist the people working are.) don’t make it harder for them. don’t make your store up their security because you took too much too fast, and now a possible source of food or income is closed off from people who can’t afford a magnet or fancy tag tool like you can.
people take stuff for different reasons. we all need to look out for each other’s backs. don’t fuck this kind of thing up for all of us.

I follow this blog for littlest pet shop, as a distraction from the war. It’s your blog and you can do as you please, but please understand that bringing politics into a blog like this is going to alienate people.
it is an ongoing genocide, not a war
it has nothing to do with politics.
i knew i was going to get an ask like this eventually, it was only a matter of time. while i understand where you are coming from, wanting a distraction from what is going on in the world, i believe that me, as the large blog i am, should bring awareness to whats going on and make sure as many people are being informed as possible. this is a littlest pet shop blog, yes, and i have over seven thousand followers. i'm trying to use the platform i have to do something good. it's not like i'm pausing all my lps posts entirely to post about palestine, i am doing both at the same time.
i do not wish to stand by silently and pretend i do not see what's going on. i'm a self-proclaimed socialist who advocates for justice. i have been reading and watching updates from journalists on twitter and tiktok, and i have been emailing my state senators trying to do something.
i feel ultimately useless as i watch everything happen, knowing that as one person i cannot do anything significant. running lpsotd is a comfort for me and is one of my safe havens, yes, but again, i have amassed such a large following and as said before, i have been watching israel's attacks on gaza and it's people for weeks. it greatly sickens and angers me that no major power is doing anything to stop this, but instead are actively aiding israel in their ethnic cleansing. i am simply doing what i can to bring awareness to it and help in any way i can. i'm only seventeen years old so i can only do so much. social media is the best way i can help.
unfollow me if you wish, i truly don't care. i understand if you feel uncomfortable with it all— heck, i do too, but that's kinda how it is, isn't it? genocide makes people uncomfortable, it's not exactly a good thing.

Lovejoy is in this article!
Lovejoy interview: On possible first UK Top 10 record Wake Up & Its Over and intimate connection with fans
The Brighton four-piece cap off an ascendant two years with their latest EP heading towards the Top 10 for the first time ever.
Tumblr media
When it was announced the Lovejoy - the Brighton-based four piece indie-rock band formed of Will Gold, Joe Goldsmith, Ash Kabosu and Mark Boardman - were heading for their first-ever UK Top 10 entry on the Official Albums Chart this week, there seemed to be one sentiment across their fans on social media; their 'little band' wasn't so little anymore.
It speaks to the deep and intimate connection the boys have already managed to form with their fanbase across the span of three EPs - 2021's Are You Alright? and Pebble Brain and this year's Wake Up & It's Over - that has seen them move closer to a mainstream breakthrough with each release.
The signs for a good year were already there, Wake Up & It's Over's lead single, Call Me What You Like, became the band's first-ever Top 40 hit on the Official Singles Chart earlier this year, combining brash, indie-rock tropes with an undeniable hook. It's a formula that certainly seems to be working, and has clearly enamoured an entire army of fans.
"Of course [we have a special connection with our fans], " Lovejoy's vocalist Will Gold tell us as the band currently travel across the States on a tour. "They give us everything, and it's the least we can do in return [to reward that loyalty].
Reacting to the news that Lovejoy could very well soon secure their first Top 10 record in the UK, Will tells us that; "We've worked very hard on this project, so it's incredibly validating to see it received well by so many people."
He continues: "[The reception] has been amazing. I hope we can get our foot across the line into the Top 10 with this release, and that our audience will love our future releases just as much."
Speaking of future releases, with a trilogy of EPs now complete, it only seems fair to ask whether work as begun on Lovejoy's debut album proper. But while a full-length LP may be on the horizon, it won't be the next project the band releases.
Will remains tight-lipped about their precise plans, but does share that there's "One more project left to go" until an album appears.
Wake Up & It's Over certainly sounds like a band who finally know what they want to say, and how they want to sound like. It's certainly been a work in progress for the band, who have been growing and evolving as a unit as they go along.
"We've been doing a balance of really figuring out the components of our sound," Will explains, "whilst trying not to overthink it. This has been hard but we are a reflection of our inspirations and so that has been second nature."
And what if the boys do go all the way and hit the Top 10? What will the celebrations at Lovejoy HQ look like?
"Live in excess for an hour," Will tells us. "No more, no less. Next question!"
Wake Up & It's Over is out now.

Masterlist Summary: The reader is at a bar and gets harassed by a drunk dude. Austin to the rescue
Rating: T Pairing: Austin Butler x Reader Word Count: 864 Warnings: Violence, cursing, misogyny, borderline assault, Austin being very hot. etc. A/N: Thank you for the request anon (I also accidentally deleted this request again don't kill me I have a slow computer🧍‍♀️) ! I've been so swamped with school it's not even funny lol so I hope I wasn't too late with this request. As always, Austin is looking hella fine in the photo above. Kaia gets to sleep next to him every night and I have never been more jealous of anyone in my life.
◈━◈━◈━◈━◈━◈━◈━◈━ ◈━◈━◈━◈━◈━
You had been sitting at the bar for the last half hour nursing an overly sweet martini and flipping through social media on your phone. It was 8:30 on a Friday and you were all alone so trouble was practically guaranteed. You occupied the stool all the way in the corner of the bar to keep away from stray eyes. Unbeknownst to you, a man with shaggy blond hair and cerulean eyes had been eyeing you for well over an hour now.
You felt a figure walk up behind you and block the shadow of the light bulb above you. You turned around and before you could speak a word his slurred words came out in abandon.
"Hey baby~ I seen you sittin' all alone at this bar and I figured I could lend ya some company" His brown locks and shit-eating grin probably did wonders for the other girls he most likely hit on, but you weren't falling for it.
"Um no, I'm good. I'm not looking for anything tonight" You turned your head around to face the bar to hopefully reiterate how uninterested you were but before you could bring your drink up to take a sip the man behind you snatched it out of your hand.
"Did ya hear me, baby, I was asking if you wanted to spend some time together." His voice grew louder and more aggressive as he spoke. You turned around fully in your stool to face him. That was your first mistake.
"I told you I'm not interested in anything like that. Just leave me alone." You knew this wasn't going to end well. It never did. You couldn't even enjoy one single night out by yourself because some asshole always had to ruin it. Just as set your foot down on the floor to step away from his obnoxious voice and sour breath, he planted both arms on either side of you against the bar counter and leaned his head closer.
His beer-ridden smell stank up the space between you and you pushed on his shoulders to try and pry him off of you, but he doubled down on his invasion of your personal space and moved closer.
" What you gonna do little girl? I bet you're a whore under this shy facade you have going on. This is probably how you reel them in huh?"
"G-GET OFF OF ME" You kicked his shin and pushed harder but he wouldn't budge. He was laughing. He was laughing as you struggled under him and even chuckled at the kicks you gave him. He didn't budge and his horrific chuckles were ringing in your ears and making your blood burn. You needed him off now, you couldn't breathe, he was going to hurt you and you knew it, it's over, this is i-
"Hey asshat, didn't you hear the little lady? She said to get off." A smooth rich voice broke through your panic as the man placed his hand on the guy's shoulder and squeezed.
"What's it to you pal, me and her were just getting to know each other is all." The blond man was taller, broader, and just bigger overall. His eyes looked over your face and gave you a small smile before he shifted his gaze back to the brunette still hunched over you.
"I asked you nicely and you didn't move so I guess I'm gonna have to rephrase." At that, he yanked the brunette back away from you and you breathed out a sigh of relief at the loss of contact.
"Keep putting your hands on her, and I'll be forced to put my hands on you. Back. off." Your assaulter regained his footing and stepped back once he realized he was outclassed.
"Whatever dude," he shakes off the blonde's hand " She wasn't even a pretty piece of ass anyway I was just doing her a favor." The blond shoves the man's shoulder and watched him leave. His grumblings could be heard as he drunkenly walked all the way back to his seat.
Your savior turns to you with his hands in his pockets and smiles lightly " Are you doing alright? I'm sorry if I overstepped but that guy was starting to piss me off and I was tired of just watching." Your eyes widened at his last statement, he had been watching? He had to have been watching you long enough to see the interaction with the other guy, which begs the question; was he watching for longer?
"No you didn't overstep at all, I really appreciate your help I- I wasn't sure what was going to do so I'm glad you came." The relief on his face was evident as he raked his eyes over your form before quickly averting his gaze once more as a guilty look crossed his face.
"I'm glad that's the case I didn't want to give you a second problem on top of that asshole." You both laugh and he draws closer to you to sit on the stool next to you.
"I'm Austin by the way," he holds his hand out to shake yours, "what's yours?" Saying your name then, made you feel different than ever had before; it made you feel like you could get lost in him and those breathtaking cerulean eyes.
◈━◈━◈━◈━◈━◈━◈━◈━◈━◈━◈━◈━◈
This was a little short and a little shitty lol and everything I write makes me feel single but I hope you enjoyed it anyway, until next time!

MC5 Co-founder and Leader Wayne Kramer Dies at 75
Wayne Kramer, the guitarist, singer and songwriter who co-founded and fronted the massively influential MC5, has died, his family said.
Kramer, who reformed the band in 2018 after a stint in prison in the 1970s and subsequent solo career, was 75 and died Feb. 2 from pancreatic cancer, the family’s statement said.
“He will be remembered for starting a revolution in music, culture and kindness,” the family said.
Alice Cooper mourned his “longtime friend - and sometimes collaborator” on social media: “Wayne Kramer. R.I.P.”
“He was my favorite person in the world,” Jill Sobule said of Kramer. “So beloved. I was lucky to have him in my life.”
Outside of his music career, Kramer founded Jail Guitar Doors, which provides acoustic guitars to incarcerated people.
“Rest in power to a brother who dedicated his life to being part of the solution,” Third Man Records said in a statement.
The MC5 released three LPs during its initial 1969-1972 run and is best known by the public for “Kick out the Jams.” Musicians felt the impact more deeply.
A “saddened” Vernon Reid ticked off Kramer’s many guises: “Punk-rock pioneer. Inmate-rights reformer. Author. Human-rights activist. Anti-violence advocate. Guitar badass. And major dude.”
Kramer was “the greatest man I’ve ever known,” Tom Morello said, adding that every time he’s in the studio, “the rawest, fastest track ha(s) the working title ‘MC5.’”
“Whenever and wherever any of us kick out the jams, Brother Wayne will be right there with us,” Morello said.
Or as the Dictators put it: “No MC5, no Dictators.”

Do you know what’s going on with Eternity Speedway?
yes because i know everything <3 no, not actually, but after some Discussion with our most informed Ash Stan, one Crystal Kindahoping4forever, I have a basic idea of what's going on!!
now, lock in for a jessay <3
ok so!! the brunette Chris Stapleton that Ashton is looking so longingly at in these band pics is a guy named Mac Hanson (no, not the rugby player),
Tumblr media
who Ashton has actually played shows with before!! Do you recall his oh so talented robot dance? we have Mac to thank. Everyone say thank you Mac for getting Ashton on stage in such tight pants <3
Anyway, Ash is "pretty well known in the districts for his drumming greatness" and when someone asks him to session or help them out w/ anything, he literally always jumps at the opportunity (and always has; this is nothing new)!!
Since 5sos has been on their "break" (and even before it), Ash has been writing songs with other people (think of all his LP, Matt, and Andrew adventures last year), and also performing with them. this man loves a sidequest (which we all knew; like he has a fucking luxury candle business lmfao, bro just likes Doing Shit). So, when it comes to stuff like this, you can literally just think of it as another side quest!! I mean, think of it this way fr, he's already finished his solo album lol. That thing is in the final stages of production and probably ready for release within the year. And, as Luke said in an earlier interview, 5sos won't be back in the studio until later this year, so what is Ash supposed to do to bide the time? the man literally goes stir-crazy without something to do. he has music ADHD. if he's not creating, he feels like he's wasting time. so this new band (which is COUNTRY ROCK??? HELLO?? a genre he never gets to explore with 5sos!!), is just another new sidequest for him <3
also, bare in mind that Ash hasn't promoted this band at all on his public social media; it's only been posted on the other guys'. usually Ash only uses his socials to promote stuff that's for the furthering of his own career (like the candle buiz and his solo music) so that kind of gives the implication that this is mainly Mac's thing/band and Ash is helping them out/having fun until 5sos is back in the studio. like, i don't think he's doing it with the intention of it getting attention, because he's literally only posting about it on his private account, not his main.

Tumblr media
there's also no indication of this being "his new band" like everyone's freaking out about. it just kind of seems like... a band that he's playing with?
so I think is a pretty clear indication that it's just supposed to be an Ashton thing... not an Ashton Irwin of 5 Seconds of Summer Thing, if that makes sense? He's allowed to have fun and do things on his own without people falling over themselves :/
also not to start shit, u guys, but do u notice how... luke's been doing solo marketing/modeling/performing/releasing (and is literally going on a fucking tour by himself later this year) and no one's raised this much of an uproar?? yeah just think that's a little funny <3

Wow. Really great songs and videos that Maren released today. Please give it a watch! The article below is also a really good read. She’s so real for exposing the cracks in the facade of country music. Love this for her! Everyone go support Maren 🤍
Maren Morris calls her new two-track EP “The Bridge,” which is just one of several metaphors she deploys in imagining a path out of the world of country music in which she became a star.
On “The Tree,” the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter says she’s “done filling a cup with a hole in the bottom”; “Get the Hell Out of Here” opens with the admission that she “watered the garden but forgot to fill the well.”
It’s not that Morris, 33, has tired of twanging guitars or neatly cornered rhymes, both of which define the tunes that came out Friday, a decade after she moved to Nashville from her native Texas, first to write songs for established country acts such as Tim McGraw and later to sign a major-label record deal of her own. Rather, she says she’s leaving because of what she views as the country music industry’s unwillingness to honestly reckon with its history of racism and misogyny and to open its gates to more women and queer people and people of color.
“I thought I’d like to burn it to the ground and start over,” she says of country music. “But it’s burning itself down without my help.”
The singer acknowledges that, as a white woman, she’s benefited from the system as it is. Yet Morris, who says, “Allyship begins with waking up from something really comfortable,” has been vocal in her criticisms onstage and on social media, where she tangled last year with country star Jason Aldean and his wife over young people seeking gender-affirming healthcare. The spat even made it to Tucker Carlson’s Fox News show, where the right-wing host described Morris as a “lunatic.”
“The Bridge,” which marks Morris’ move to Columbia Records from the label’s Nashville division, arrives accompanied by a music video for “The Tree” in which she strolls through an emptied-out small town as she hears “the sound of a new wind blowing.” A sign welcomes visitors to the place “from sunrise to sundown” — a reference, perhaps, to the threat of racist vigilantism many perceived in Aldean’s recent “Try That in a Small Town” video; other signs in front of boarded-up buildings read “GO WOKE GO BROKE” and “DON’T TREAD ON ME.”
Morris is currently at work on her next LP with prolific pop producer Jack Antonoff, with whom she recorded “Get the Hell Out of Here.”
Obviously, being one of the few women that had any success on country radio, everything you do is looked at under a microscope. You’re scrutinized more than your male peers, even when you’re doing well. So I’ve had to clear all of that out of my head this year and just write songs. A lot of the drama within the community, I’ve chosen to step outside out of it.
Did that drama — your feud with the Aldeans, let’s say — push you in that direction? Or were you headed that way from the beginning?
I’ve always been an asker of questions and a status quo challenger just by being a woman. So it wasn’t really even a choice. I didn’t think of myself as a political artist. I just wrote songs about real life through a lens of deep respect for my country heroes. But the further you get into the country music business, that’s when you start to see the cracks. And once you see it, you can’t un-see it. So you start doing everything you can with the little power you have to make things better.
That doesn’t make you popular. But I don’t think that biting the hand that fed you is a real thing. It’s kind of a fallacy at this point, with all this fear-mongering about getting Dixie Chick-ed and whatnot. Country music is a business, but it gets sold, particularly to young writers and artists who come up within it, as almost a god. It kind of feels like indoctrination. If you truly love this type of music and you start to see problems arise, it needs to be criticized. Anything this popular should be scrutinized if we want to see progress.
But I’ve kind of said everything I can say. I always thought I’d have to do middle fingers in the air jumping out of an airplane, but I’m trying to mature here and realize I can just walk away from the parts of this that no longer make me happy.
Does your leaving country music mean the libs have been owned?
I’m sure some people may think that. And I would say, “Feel free. Go ahead.” I don’t want to have an adversarial relationship to country music. I still find myself weirdly wanting to protect it. But it’s not a family member. That’s the f—ed-up part, is that I’m talking about it as if it’s a person, but it’s not. So it’s a lot of deep deconstructing that I’m still unraveling.
These songs are obviously the result of that — the aftermath of walking away from something that was really important to you and the betrayal that you felt very righteously. But also knowing there’s a thread of hope as you get to the other side. I hope it comes across that way because I truly was in a space of hope when I wrote the two songs, even though “Get the Hell Out of Here” is really heavy. It’s about disarming that trauma and saying, “I can’t bail water out of this sinking ship anymore. It’s so futile. I choose happiness.”
Whose career path do you admire in terms of the ability to move from one style to another?
Certainly Taylor Swift. She’s been such a great friend over the years and has been really helpful in ways she probably doesn’t even realize in conversations I’ve had with her about everything you and I have been talking about.
You performed a song with Swift at an Eras tour stop in Chicago. What did you think of the show?
It was so inspiring. Performing for 3½ hours, three days in a row — no one can do that but her. And it’s such a supportive crowd: 90% women and 10% gays and dads. I’ve never felt so safe at a live show before. No one’s hammered or puking in the aisles or getting into a fight or anything. It’s just so joyful. And the way she makes that huge stadium setting feel intimate is astounding to me. In Chicago, I started running down the catwalk toward her after I came out of the hydraulic lift. She said, “Take your time,” and I was like, “OK, good, because this thing’s a mile long.”
