                            and  he  was  still  recovering  ––––  finally  put  into  a  state  where  he  was  able  to  have  visitors, quietly,  he  sits  in  his  bed.  it  was  odd,  for  the  hashira  to  seem  so  small  and  frail  –––  never  in  his  life,  had  he  been  injured  to  such  a  degree  (and  he  still  remembered  the  pain  so  well;  feeling like  he  was  about  to  die,  he  remembered  the  smile  he  wore,  as  he  said  his  goodbyes).

but  he  survived, miraculously  –––  and  it  was  as  he  looks  up  to  see  her,  eyes  draw  glossy.

“...  ...  ...”  

his  throat  tightens  up,   for  he  really  was  alive.

“–––you  came...  to  visit  me?”

“Hey, you alright?” Robin once more posed the question, hoping she hadn’t surprised the other girl too much. While the scent she picked up was somewhat demonic, there was no stench of  blood at all. At that realization, though, the slayer remembered the story the upper butterfly girls had told her. 

Oh. This was the Kamado girl. The one that was docile, supposedly going to be cured someday. Robin couldn’t be too harsh, not when this poor child seemed... almost sad. Hence the question, asked twice.

“I’m sorry if I scared you. I don’t mean any harm. I’m just going for a walk, it’s hard to sleep...”

Lazy days off were the best. Robin could fully indulge in the wonders of a life that she was given, one she could fight for peace and find something wonderful at the end of it. Although she had only recently begun courting her soon to be co-hashira Mitsuri, she felt... emboldened tonight.

Their usual cuddle session was slowly escalating, hands wandering to explore and map every part of one another. While Robin was restraining herself from going anywhere private just yet, it was like learning a new place or a new language, just feeling the toned muscles of her lover’s body.

Her head was nestled between the head and shoulder, inhaling with her sensitive nose to get as much of the sweet vanilla and sakura scent Mitsuri’s skin and hair naturally produced. Her hands settled on those lovely hips, and before the wolf breather could stop herself, she kissed the warm flesh of the younger’s neck, licking it and gently nibbling, as if intending to leave a mark.

“You smell really good, Mii-chan~.” Robin cooed softly. “I could eat you up, you know~”

“I know yer following me,”  Suigetsu sighs heavily, aggravated, with his hands in his pockets.  “Whaddya want?”  

At this point, he isn’t looking at her.  Suigetsu’s back is to the stranger as he speaks to her, hoping that this rude behavior will get her to go away. Most people liked to be faced when they were being spoken to, right? Showed they were being paid attention to.  Yeah, that sounded right. And he didn’t want her to think she was being fully paid attention to.  But he will turn his head slightly to the right so that he can look at her from the corner of his eye.

“If yer wanting me to dig up some dirt for find somebody for you, you’re gonna have to—“ Oh.  Oh. Something has got his attention: A peculiar sword strapped to her side.

Never mind that her hair was weird and her boobs were out, that was one hell of a cool-lookin’ sword she had!  Was that pink? Were those hearts on the hilt? Was that a flower-thing at the hilt? Sick.  Okay, now she has his full attention.  Suigetsu immediately spins on his heels to face her, fully-focused.  

“Heeey~” He begins again, as if he hadn’t just been rude as hell.  “That’s a sick-lookin’ sword you got there, girly.”

“I’d appreciate that.” Robin was new to this concept of honey and tea being used together, so the idea was something she could focus her mind on. Usually her days were spent researching and training, trying to find the right path forward or some way to get stronger. Her nights were demon hunts. Sleep didn’t come very easily anymore.

At least then she had raw tiredness to put her to bed. Now, stuck in training, she didn’t have the method she had before. Nothing seemed to be clicking and the slayer desperately wanted it to, so her battle with that lower moon hadn’t been all for nothing.

(It had been so painful, watching my friend become that. Being the one to put him down. That’s why I can’t sleep. I see his face.)

Perhaps if she felt comfortable enough during their tea session, she could ask the hashira the dogging question that never stopped relenting her brain in the quiet.
