You say that the Monkey King is from a lost legend in the hunter au. What exactly does that mean? Also how did Macaque’s actions lead to Wukong being a ghost and having his body used by LBD?

Unlike in regular LMK, the story of journey to the west has been mostly lost to time. some people, AHEM TANG AHEM, still keep up with the history of legends, but mosg stuff that citizens know about is regulated by the celestials. lots of stories have been changed or forgotton about

Macaque has a contract/deal type thing with LBD. He brings her Wukong’s body, and she’ll bring him back to life, since everyone assumes swk is dead based on what they’re told. LBD is more of a nevromancer in this LOLOL. Mac is terrible at reading the fine print though

So, A: MK, Mei, and Red Son get their demon/dragon characteristics, because I don't make the rules

I imagine Red Son to actually find Boiling Isles magic SUPER INTERESTING because it works so unlike magic in their world. What takes Luz or Eda a glyph to do or Amity a spell circle Red Son or Wukong could do without a second thought. Also the whole concept of glyphs and such I think would FASCINATE Red and he and Luz would end up nerding out over this stuff together

(Imagine Eda and Wukong trying to be adults and actually figure out wtf has happened and having to move rooms because they frequently get interrupted with loud 'YEAHS!' by Luz and/or Red and they're constantly talking in the background).

Willow & Mei would be a fun duo and I don't really have a good reason tbh. I think Mei would bring out a more proactive side of Willow and Willow would be able to step back and go 'slow down' when Mei wants to jump straight into shit. I also think Willow & Sandy would vibe really well together.

Gus would borderline interrogate Tang until Tang finally started telling him stories about the human world and Gus sat down and went ':ooo' through Tang's stories.

LBD and Belos I think would team up after some shenanigans

Anyway

And Macaque and Hunter would get thrown on missions together to keep an eye on each other which would manifest as Hunter trying to do stuff and Macaque messing with him. Macaque would also literally just follow Hunter around when he's bored to mess with him.

I realize I haven't really connected Amity to them and that's because I genuinely haven't figured out how Amity fits into any of this or how she'd react. I'm having issues. Idk why but I am having issues lol.

I think Wukong would be the most confusing thing in the Isles for everyone (is he a Titan? A Snaggleback? Wtf is this guy?) because he doesn't use glyphs or anything, all his magic is gold no matter what, and he uses his hair as a spell component, but without a potion?? Like I'm imagining people doing legitimate studies trying to figure him out.

I have more around here I just don't have anything specific enough to put into words (like Hooty, King, & Mo, & how MK & Luz affect each other, the whiplash, how everyone's plans are suddenly absolutely abolished and have to be revamped to reflect the new world/the new people, etc.) sooo yeah, feel free to ask as much as you want because I need promptings for stuff I have to think about lol

Also did I mention how the LMK characters end up in the TOH world? I've thrown this idea at a friend or two so I can't remember if I added that part here too or not lol

If you're willing to indulge me in some whump I would love to hear as much about Hunter LBD and Macaque as you're willing to divulge!

Anon i would LOVE to because frankly I'm so abnormal about hunter Macaque and I've known him well for like all of three days or something. (We've (Hawk and I) started calling him Rook, as in the chess piece, as a sort of codename.

So LBD in this world gets herself freed much sooner than most other ones, the mayor (we call him Bishop, but he doesn't play a wildly important role and it's more of a convenience name than anything else) manages to get her out pretty early on. She wastes no time in starting on her plans again, but VERY underground. She learned her lesson once, she's not making that mistake again.

So she spends some time planning and amassing underground power, making sure she's never discovered while she schemes.

Eventually though, she hits a dead end, and needs a new piece on the board. And, luckily for her, she knows the location of a certain dead monkey. So a little memory tweaking and one resurrection later, he's back.

But...the thing about bringing back a body dead for that long...well there's not much left to it. Not much more than bones. And it takes a lot of power to restore flesh and blood and a body. Most LBDs in AUs we go with, tend to go the route of restoring the body as much as they can, but don't have the power to heal them. So it's a matter of bringing them back with a sound body and some injuries, they can heal on their own time.

This one, though...needs him up and moving now. Which means getting him into the most complete shape she can, where he can do work for her ASAP. This manifests as completely healing his injuries, but...little else. He's skin and bone, but hey. These monkies don't really need food, look at Wukong eating nothing but copper for 500 years. This one will live.

So he's up and about, nothing but skin and bone and a bonus new healing boost (that he gets to keep, lucky him) and some twisted memories. But he's hers now, hers to work with. And his power set has always been suited to stealth, she just molded him into her perfect hidden dagger. And she wields him well. Constantly sending him off on missions, quietly taking out anyone she needs out of the way, helping her to grow her underground empire. With how busy she keeps him though, recovery is...difficult. He gains back very little weight, even over a century or so working for her. But he's excellent at his job, and never fails her - so she's decent enough to him. But that's the only real reason why, because he does his job and does it well.

TBH other than not letting him rest/giving him time to eat and recover it's...not the most unhealthy relationship between a mac and an LBD that we've explored. Like she's not verbally abusive or anything, it's just...constantly keeping him busy till the events of the show.

I think Hunter au LBD is absolutely chilling with her abuse. She may not call him names but she doesn't have to. She can issue a threat just with a calm question and the response that Macaque will have to correct his mistake. The fact that she doesn't let him eat and sleep man- that's so fucked up. So is how indebted he must feel to her- not in a devotion way necessarily just. I'm sure she made it clear he owed her for reviving him and he would be paying by being her weapon, her tool. Hug him.

So this ask is like 8 months old at this point (and im so sorry for that i am incapable of rubbing braincells together long enough to answer asks regularly) but would you believe me if I told you we've actually made this so much worse.

Your only hint is that we took inspiration from the fact that Rook is named after a bird.
