No idea where this thought came from, but sometimes I like to imagine Wind, Four, Minish, and Spirit(?) in their own small, chaotic group. Wind leads them all into trouble, Four gladly adds fuel to the flame, and the other two are just dragged along but are kind of enjoying themselves.

And then Twilight (Usually as Wolfie, don't ask why) just follows them to try and stop the situation from escalating too far (He fails miserably every time).

As an example; Wind suggests arson, Four fully commits and actually does the Arson, Minish panics about the fire, but does nothing to actually stop it, Spirit is amused and has no problems, but does not contribute, and Twilight (Still as Wolfie, just because its funniner that way) is running around with buckets of water and sand in his mouth trying to put it out.

Celebrating the FSA anniversary by drawing 4 different Fours from different Links Meet AUs. I’m a day late because I didn’t know that March 18 was the anniversary. I was planning on drawing these guys for a while, several months ago, I just forgot to. Fun fact, the day before the 18th, quite literally the day before, the 17th, I thought, “I should finally draw these guys the day before the FSA anniversary so I can post them on time.” Like. Wtf. So I’ll be making a calendar eventually so I know when all the anniversaries are.

Anyways, some thoughts on the guys:

Four from @linked-maze - His hair is so scruffy, I love it. He’s so optimistic and happy.

Four from @heroesspirit - I didn’t color it in here, but I love his ombré hair, the orange fading into a yellow looks so pretty.

Four from @linkbetweenlinksau This is just devolving into me gushing over the hair. Anyways I love the hair and the little hair tie thingy is SO good. Also love the eyes.

Forge from @echoes-of-courage - I didn’t have to space to draw the multicolored sash :( One of my favorite aspects of his design honestly. I’m glad I was able to draw the ponytail, I love ponytails.

Les Mis 1.1.1 thoughts

I like this line: "...the tragic spectacles of '93, which were, perhaps, even more alarming to the emigrants who viewed them from a distance, with the magnifying powers of terror"

It implies a critique of the way conventional history and memory at the time framed the FRev -- if physical distance magnifies the terror, then maybe temporal distance does the same?

The very first chapters includes both the revolution and Napoleon. Through Myriel, it drops us into the time periods relevant to understand the story

Myriel is made a bishop by Napoleon thus maybe his version of doing good is the version of it possible under the Empire?

My translation uses the words "åndrig" and "åndful" a lot as descriptors of people and I'm still not entirely sure what that means. Probably a calque of German "Geistreich" which I see translated as "witty"? Hapgood renders the same word "intelligent" here
