20-David Reacts to Street’s Breakup Preference
Tumblr media
@incorrectswatquotes requested: “Hi Hannah! 🥰I know we both love M*lly-bashing, (and really, who wouldn’t) so if you’re up for it could you write headcanons on how each of the 20-squad members would react to the breakup? Like how they would comfort Street and what their opinions on the situation would be? (And feel free to ignore whatever the writers are doing with Stris right now, I think they’re going through something).”
A/N: lmaooo I’m hyped to bash Molly, especially after what happened with his mom. Also I’m typing this out before I watch the episode because I don’t want my writing to be tainted with that stris stuff. I’m therefore pretending he broke up with her because of the mom stuff.
Hondo: I almost feel like Hondo wouldn’t be too mad about it, but he has his own issues to deal with so I almost feel like he’s be indifferent? He cares about Street, he is proud of how far he’s come, but he’s neutral on the breakup given i don’t feel like Street confided in him on the Karen issue. Hondo hasn’t necessarily been the best father-like figure this season, he just has too much shit going on in his own life to worry about. He would give Street some fatherly advice though, about following his heart and trusting his instinct on whether or not he’s being gaslit.
Chris: Chris’s reaction made me the most angry. I think Street would have went to everyone for advice on the issue, except for maybe Hondo, and she would have attempted to play devil’s advocate to point out all the arguments. At the end of the day though, she would support whatever he chose to do, because they’re friends, which seems like something the writer’s forgot about. She’d take him out for food after, letting him vent if need be.
Luca: Luca would be hyped that Street made a healthy decision for once in his life. He initially was okay with the relationship, thinking she would be good for Jim, but after Street called him about what she did, he straight out told him that it wasn’t her place to say what she did, even if she was doing it with good intentions in mind. Since he’s still in Germany, he let’s JIm talk about it all he wants and offers support that way, knowing that while his roommate usually compartmentalizes everything but has been working with Dr. Wendy to let people in, and Luca just so happens to be one of those people
Tan: Tan would be absolutely livid when he learns what Molly did. Arguably Street and Tan are two of the closest members on the team, so he knows just how far the trauma went when it comes to that abusive witch of a woman. To think that Molly couldn’t see Street’s side of that truly flabbergasted him, so he internally cheered when Street told him about the breakup. Tan would make him get up early and go run, train, surf, anything to make him focus on anything other than those women in his life who severely disappointed him. Tan might also make his move now that street’s single
Deacon: I think Deac would encourage Street to do what he feels is right, and remind him that he has the right to hate his mom, even if she was a victim of Eddie’s abuse. Deacon would be quiet about his opinion on the matter, it wasn’t his place to tell Jim how to feel. I think Deacon would feel like the relationship wouldn’t have lasted long anyways, so he wasn’t necessarily surprised when Street told him that he broke up with her. He then would tell Street that if he needed to work on his trauma from his childhood to talk to Wendy, as she helped Deacon with his depression.

NOTE - Unitentionally left this chapter out, apologies.
“Yep, a legitimate little shit,” Danielle stated in a deadpan voice as she finished chewing.
Paul laughed, covering his mouth with his hand to not spit out some of the salad he was eating. “I am just glad I got enough sleep before he started today.”
“Yeah, yeah, quit bragging.” She tossed half a cherry tomato at him, causing him to laugh again. “You didn’t strike me as a salad man.”
“I’m actually big on fruit and veg, I am a doctor after all; you know, practise what I preach and all that.”
Danielle eyed him suspiciously. “Wait, are you a vegetarian?”
“If I was?” he asked.
“I would probably disgust you, I am a total ‘it’s not dinner unless there is the side of some dead animal on the plate with it’ sort of girl.”
“Good Irish upbringing then I take it.” He smiled back.
“The best.”
“No, I’m not, but I am not a huge fan, fish is what I’d eat mostly.”
“Why imply you were?”
“To see your reaction.”
“It’s a diet choice, what sort of reaction were you expecting?” She laughed. “It’s not like you sacrifice goats to a pagan god.”
“Only at Easter.” She had barely stopped laughing when he set her into another fit. “I don’t want to ruin your good mood, but are you okay, with everything with Diana’s son that is?
Danielle cleared her throat awkwardly, picking up her fork and playing with another half tomato. “It’s none of my business.”
“But you are being dragged into it, aren’t you?” Danielle gave a small nod, not looking up from the plate. “What is the story there, did you go out with him before or something?”
Danielle scoffed. “No, nothing like that. Honestly Paul, I only know him through his mum, I collected him from the airport once when she couldn’t make it, we talked, we got along well, and since it was an awkward journey for Diana, I offered to do it when he was coming to Suffolk. I’m not even very close to him, he is rarely around, I just find him nice to talk to on the rare occasion I see him, I get on best with Emma, and Sarah I’ve only ever seen a few times.”
“They are his sisters?” she nodded. “So why is all the focus on you?”
“I think it’s to do with I was talking to Diana about everything and he overheard us, so he got mad, and then ranted to his girlfriend about it and I have no idea how the hell it escalated from there.”
“And now you are being accused of selling their family secrets?” she nodded again. “That’s pretty rough.”
“I have no idea how this came about, and I can only imagine that whatever little chance there was of myself and Tom ever talking amiably again, is well and truly decimated, which will put a strain on Diana and Emma, which is completely not fair.”
“And that is why you are ignoring Diana?”
“I’m no ignoring her; I am just trying to make things easier for her. If she doesn’t have people arguing, it makes her life easier.”
“That’s selfless of you. She told me you talk to her about your parents a lot.”
“You spend an awful lot of time talking about me.”
“Contrary to your belief Danielle, people actually care about you, and think you a very worthy topic of conversation.” He smiled. “We are worried about how all of this is affecting you; that’s what people do when they care about someone” Danielle blushed at his words. “I know we’re only getting to know each other personally Danni, but…” The neighbour’s dog began barking hysterically. “That fucking cat.”
“It’s a dog.”
Paul laughed. “No, he sees the apartment over the way’s cat. It sit’s there taunting him all day.”
“Should we get Mac to say hello?”
“I think that’s a great idea.” Paul smiled, walking over to the door. Mac Tíre, who had been reasonably comfortable in his unfamiliar surrounds until the other dog started barking, rose to his feet and went to the patio door. As soon as Paul opened it, he rushed out, giving a deep bark, which was followed by pathetic whimpers, and trotted back inside proudly.
“That’ll teach the little bollix.” Danielle laughed, having gotten out of her chair and stood next to Paul to see what Mac Tíre would do. She looked up at Paul next to her, realising for the first time that there was over six inches difference in their height. When his gaze met hers, she blushed slightly. “I…”
Paul gently placed his hand on her cheek and leant down, his face only centimetres from hers as he studied her eyes, noticing there was no attempt to step back from him, he pressed his lips against hers, relieved when Danielle pressed hers forward into his.

“Are you seriously accusing me of selling that story?” Taylor had tears in her eyes as she spoke. “I was at the table with you; I left my phone with you the only time I left you after that story was said. It had to be that bitch.”
“You said you never spoke to her, and then admit to Ben you did.” Tom retorted. “Don’t you see what they did Taylor, they tricked you. They never told that story to Danielle; they planted it for you to show what you were doing.”
“His wife was gone long enough with her phone, she rang it in.”
“Ben screen shot me a picture of her screen. She was gone about ten minutes from the table, the phone number on the phone was a British number, the prefix was one for Scotland and the call lasted ten minutes forty-two seconds.” Tom argued. “She was talking to her mum.” Tom looked at her, somewhat defeated. “Benedict is a Buddhist, a practising Buddhist, and Sophie does not go to church, and should she ever elect to, Benedict would not think it a suitable place to bring Christopher so young.”
“And you know this as fact do you?”
“Yes, because I was a groomsman at his wedding, so I know his view on church ceremonies, and I was talking to him when they were getting Christopher baptised, both of which he only did to placate their parents.” Tom looked her in the eye as he spoke. “Why have you been lying?”
“I have not, you are just pissed that your friend…”
“Stop dragging Danielle into this, Danielle could not care less about us.”
“She is in love with you.”
“Well if she is, then she is Oscar-worthy in her ability to not show it, because she has a boyfriend, and going by the fact I got a picture sent to me by my sister showing Elle and the doctor walking by the sea with her dog holding hands, she seems to be completely happy with him according to Emma.”
“They did that in front of her to get her to tell you so you would be…”
“Are you listening to yourself?” Tom scoffed. “My sister wasn’t there with them; she was walking along with her own husband and noticed them from afar. You have had it in for Danielle for some reason since the beginning.”
“She is not really your friend, she has been bitching you to your mum.”
“You know, I actually remember the first time I heard them discuss you, she actually defended you, saying you were pretty and at least you had your own money, all you have ever done is belittle her.”
“She said I could not sing for shit and that I was a moaning... well I cannot repeat the word.”
“Yes well, perhaps there’s some truth in that.” Tom hissed angrily. Taylor gasped in horror at his words. “I think we need to call a time-out on this for a while, I need space and you need to grow up.” Tom grabbed his jacket and went to leave. “You know, I actually heard you on the phone to one of your friends, swearing you would get Danielle to pay, I should have realised then it was you. I made an absolute tit of myself to my friends and family, and for what? A girl who is still acting as though she is in school.” He walked out the door leaving an irate Taylor behind him.

Tom Hiddleston ‘Girl Next Door’ ex-lover threatens Taylor Swift?
Sources close to the singer revealed she turned up at a squad member’s home at close to midnight on Thursday night after a close friend of the Hiddleston family sent an email to the singer stating she and the actor had had an affair before the actor was dating the “Bad Blood” songstress, but that the actor dumped her for Ms. Swift, and she swore she would get him back.
The neighbour girl, thought to be living next to his mother Diana Hiddleston in Suffolk, is also the reported source behind the photographs and stories leaked about Hollywood’s most fangirled gentleman. The girl also claimed that Mr. Hiddleston forced her to get an abortion because he never wanted children, a claim Ms. Swift knew to be false because of Tom’s great affection for children, and of course, he has said in many interviews he cannot wait to show his own children the Jungle Book film some day, hardly the words of a man never intending to have children; Tom Hiddleston is also a self-confessed feminist, which helps Ms. Swift know he would never force someone to do such a thing against their will.
The email also implied that if Ms. Swift was not to end things with the Thor and Night Manager star, there would be consequences. The woman is apparently involved in the emergency services, a troubling thought for those in need of assistance in the Suffolk region of Britain.
Tom stared at the article in front of him. He could hardly process it. Danielle could easily lose her job if her superiors figured out that it was supposedly her bring referenced in the article. Tom could not believe what he was reading, Taylor had not only attacked Danielle; she had put everything she had ever worked for at risk. Livid, he pulled out his phone and found Taylor’s number, pressing the call button before he even thought of what he was going to say.
“Calmed down from your tantrum yet?” There was no denying there was a smile on Taylor's face as she answered the phone.
Tom wanted to inform her it was her that had had a tantrum. “What have you done?”
“What are you talking about, I did nothing.” The singer replied sweetly.
“Is this all a sick little game to you, this is a person’s livelihood you are messing with, her job.”
“Boo-hoo, she should not go interfering in other people’s lives if she does not want them to interfere with hers.”
“You have to have that article removed.”
“I have to do nothing; though I’ll make a deal with you, I need to go to the New York fashion show, Gigi will be there with Zayn, so I cannot look utterly pathetic and be alone, so you come with me, smile and look pretty for the camera’s, and when I am asked about that little email, I will laugh and rubbish it off as all lies, I might even say something nice about her, deal?”
“I thought you did not do fancy events with partners?”
“I do not do award shows with them, there’s a difference.” She corrected. “So, will we leave this little spat behind us? I promise I will not reference the lovely Danielle again.”
Tom swallowed, after all, the trouble that he had caused for Danielle, it was the least he could do. “When is the show?”
“I’ll send the plane for you.” She sang back.

every number that ends in 3 B) for UMMMM houch
for this ask game thank you!! THANK YEW
some moightve been answered before from here so ill copy and paste and maybe edit a little
3. Do they get jealous easily? If so, what usually causes it?
i think yes, house is pretty defensive about its Life and it doesnt want anyone else coming in and fucking things up. like uve specifically seen it expressing this w keurig, plus fracs pretty unstable so if anyone else managed to get to fracs gentle side itd feel like. less accomplished/like its competition
13. How forgiving are they? What do they consider unforgivable?
house has memory loss a little bit like all of the fiction aware ocs so it tends to forget if its mad at people unless it was something really personal. it does have a "we have to give everyone a chance and move forwards" complex that it inherits from me (which you can see from pp) so even killing or torturing its loved ones itd probably apprehensively get over assuming that its loved ones end up okay and whatever circumstances caused said torture/killing are no longer there. shamelessly and pointlessly harming its loved ones though will generally have it Not liking you. but its also way more obligated to forgive people because its been a writer insert so it has to interact with people it doesnt like. plus its generally softer on crimes because it thinks everyones being forced to do things all the time by their writer
23. Is their pain tolerance high or low?
HIGH this bitch cant feel things unless it wants to. i was imagining actually b4 keurig got to talk that itd investigate keurig being on and would pick it up and be like FRAC SOMETHINGS WRONG WITH THE COFFEE MACHINE and itd start pouring boiling hot water on houses hands and itd be like ... >:/ FRAC ITS PISSING ON ME. <- ive also gotten hot water fresh from the machine on my hand once at school and oh my god worst experience of my fucking life. like coals under your skin
33. Are they adventurous, or do they prefer to stay in their safe zone?
SAFE ZONE. its terrified of things going wrong and things cant go wrong if you stay inside all day and try fun cozy things, plus it idealizes comfy homely activities so its content to just like. knit
43. Are they a chaotic bastard, pure angel baby, or tired mom friend?
tired mom but like a young one so tinged with chaos. like a mom who has definitely done more drugs than you and you have done a lot
53. Are they clumsy?
yep! house still only vaguely sees so i loooove imagining it tripping over furniture and stuff that it cant see when it moves place to place. on the other hand though its got yknow the magic so it doesnt naturally or organically have Mistakes like shaky hands or dropping shit
63. Do they wear makeup?
nope! no where to put it
73. Are they more book smarts, or street smarts?
book smarts only but barely. it has google knowledge, if you can look anything up it can tell you it theoretically, and is utterly useless with learned information because yknow its learning from me and. i dont go outside
83. What are they like as an s/o?
i think only frac and sans could comment?!??! house adapts to people pretty hard and how it acts entirely depends on the person but ideally it likes a s/o where it can act like their friend and do things that are calm and fun and comfortable if not a bit exciting. it really wants a stable but dreamy life. its also overly affectionate and has like. few boundaries/doesnt hold back how its feeling
93. What type of movies do they like to watch?
none, it couldnt see for a while .. i guess it SHOULD have movies itll like but. unless it watches anything with its boys its only movie experience is what ive got and i dont watch movies. i think itd love bad childrens movies it can make fun of like it watches alpha and omega recreationally (i watched basica;lly this whole series these are the only movies i know)

After Blackrock - part 4
“Prequel“
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
(Free speech - swear words)
- Oh, Rythian. You’re back again...
- Yes, I am.
- You probably know the path to my castle by memory now, don’t you, stalker?
- If you think that’s an insult... what age are you living in? Also, yes, I do.
Rythian was at Duncan’s castle, in the same position they met first time. Him by the gate, the scientist at the top.
- I’m not here to fight, Duncan, not am I here to intimidate. I just want to talk.
- Last time you wanted to “just talk” you threatened to kill me.
- I’m not doing that now.
Duncan raised an eyebrow.
- Why save Zoey?
For a second Rythian saw panic in his eyes. Then he was a statue again. A statue of arrogance and confidence that Rythian saw through.
- Why do you care?
- Why do you try to escape a simple question?
- Argh! How are you so good at this?!
- I’m not even trying. Now can you answer me?
- I just saw a person in need and helped.
- That brings me to my next question. How did you find her?
- Why does that matter?
- I have little patience for you, Duncan. How did you find her?
- Why do you care about this?
Rythian flew up above Duncan and used his catalitic lens on the gate. It exploded into pieces big and small, they were scattered all over the courtyard and Duncan was knocked back into his fountain. He quickly got out of the humiliating position and stood beside the flaming crater he used to call “impenetrable”
- Have you gone mad?!
- Just mentioning that this was a warning.
Rythian stared at Duncan from the heights he flew up to.
- How did you find Zoey?
His calm and quiet voice didn’t fit the destruction he caused.
- Why the fuck did you destroy my gate?!
- I won’t hesitate to destroy more.
Duncan stared at the floating crazy mage.
- I’m a calm person. I really am. But when someone provokes me, all of that disappears. Now Duncan-
The mad scientist didn’t seem so mad anymore.
- How did you find Zoey?
- I was... wandering around the End collecting some enderpearls, you know. I stumbled upon what looked like a battlefield. I looked through the ruins to try and figure out what happened when I found her body. Then I promised myself to save her.
He sighed.
- I had a secret thought... That maybe you’ll forgive me and we could put the past behind us.
- We could have.
Rythian landed on the other side of the crater and Duncan’s eyes followed him.
- We could have talked it out. Maybe I could have even forgiven you. But instead of showing signs of peace, you trapped me in a force field and threatened to blow up my base. After that, it’s kind of... repelling talking to you and trying to make peace when you probably don’t want it. You blew your last chance. Li. Te. Ra. Lly.
Rythian ascended, but was stopped by Duncan’s shout.
- And no thank you for Zoey?! Do you just not give a shit about her?!
He didn’t bother to turn around.
- No. I don’t.
He wasn’t far from truth.
On the way back to his tower Rythian rethought about everything he heard. Duncan was lying - that’s a fact. He’s hiding, he’s afraid of Rythian and he’s planning something. He also somehow found Zoey - that remains to be found out - and somehow saved her. That’s still a mystery to Rythian. Unless he can actually resurrect people from the dead...
“Necromancy. Why didn’t I think of that earlier???“
But if he actually is a necromancer, why did he give Zoey a mechanical body? Why not forge a body out of random animal parts?
“Technomancer. Literally“
So he knows how it happened. But why? Even if his version of the story is half true, why even attempt? Why try to get on Rythian’s good side if there is such a low chance of success?
“More importantly, why would he need my neutrality? That just makes him even more suspicious“
He landed at the top of his tower. The moonlight soothed him and his crazy mind.
“He’s planning something that I can stop, is lying right to my face about it thinking I won’t notice and somehow fit Zoey into all of it... Is she really just an attempt to soften me?“
Speak of the devil, he heard silent humming. It fit perfectly with the bright night and Rythian remembered how they left off. His shout, her hurt voice. He really didn’t want to confront her again. But his body didn’t follow his thoughts.
He entered the science room, as he decided to call it, in the middle of the song. Zoey was humming the melody with a slight smile, ignoring Rythian’s presence. He just closed his eyes and listened. The tune seemed so familiar, so memorable, yet so forgettable. He couldn’t remember what song it was, but at the moment he didn’t care. She ended the song and Rythian felt her stare. He didn’t want to open his eyes. But, he sighed and looked at Zoey. She was intently staring at him.
- I’m... sorry, Zoey...
- For what?
- For being so narrow minded and...
- I dunno what you should be sorry for. Your lame excuse of “science is dangerous” is not enough to hate me.
She was guilt tripping him and Rythian once again realized how well she knows him.
- I don’t hate you...
- You don’t have to lie to me.
- I’m not lying, I don’t hate you.
- Tell me why then.
He sighed but Zoey didn’t stop staring at him.
- Tell me why you hate endermen, why you wear a mask, why the endermen know you, why the Queen didn’t try to kill you, why you avoid the End, why...
- One question at a time!
His voice was louder than he anticipated.
-... please.
- Why do you hate endermen?
- I used to be like them. I used to live in the End and... serve the Queen.
- So that’s why they know you...
- Yeah.
- How did you... end up there?
He put his head down and said everything in quite a monotone voice, considering what his words must have meant to him.
- I was captured by the endermen before I could walk. They came through the portal my scientist parents made. I was kept in the End until I was ready to be introduced to the war happening there. Although, my age didn’t stop the endermen from... testing me.
He shook his head.
- They didn’t stop putting me through trials even when I was to be  a warlord that’s supposed to take over the world beyond the portal.
He stopped for a moment.
- Now I think I was chosen because my spirit could have been easily broken. The Queen pulled all the strings necessary for me to start thinking it was my destiny to conquer the world. Eventually, I started thinking the daily beatings were a part of my training.
He sighed.
- Just like... killing other residents of the End that went against the Queen’s rule was my training. Capturing them and executing publicly was my training. Torturing rebel groups, castaways for locations and killing them after was my training. Needlessly brutal bloodbaths to send sign to others was my training.
He looked at his hands.
- So much innocent blood... yet I felt no guilt. It was all in the name of the Queen and she said I was doing well. So I continued. Every day, with every kill, I was more eager to take over the world and rule beside the Queen... I used to be her lap dog, wishing for a treat that would make it all worth.
He took a deep breath.
- But that wasn’t enough. I fought back to the endermen eventually, they stopped assaulting me. At least physically. They started saying how disgusting I looked and that hit me hard. I knew I wasn’t like them.
Rythian untied the back of his mask.
- I cut my face.
The cloth fell on the ground, revealing the scarred face underneath. It was a mark left by a knife long ago, on both sides of his face, both reaching from his mouth to his ears. Both speaking of regret, hate and a broken spirit.
- I didn’t realize what I was doing until it was too late. I had a terrible wound and I couldn’t talk. The endermen found me and reported me to the Queen. She had me thrown in jail and kept me there until I was fully healed. But, in my cell I had time to think. And I realized why I’m so different.
He noticed how Zoey was staring at him. Specifically, his mouth.
- I found a cell that... held my parents. Both of them, dead, thrown on to one another. And that was the last drop of proof I needed.
Rythian looked at his mask. It felt unusual to have it of in front of someone - he tried not to think someTHING.
- I pushed the attack on the outer world, gathering a full army and so. We all stood next to the portal, ready to begin the invasion, when I jumped in without a warning. I destroyed the portal from the other side and hoped they have no back up plan. Apparently, they did.
Rythian picked up his mask and talked while tying it on:
- The Queen knew I didn’t care about physical wounds. They don’t hurt as much as mental scars.
He tied the last knot and looked at Zoey. She wasn’t expecting his story to be like that.
- I guess that’s true. Rythian-
- I’m sorry, Zoey.
- Its just... It’s all in the past, Rythian.
- You think it’s easy to forget that? The picture of my dead parents? The picture of killing innocents?
His calm voice hid anger.
- Look, I’m not your enemy here...
- That remains to be seen. But you have no right to tell ME “it’s all in the past”
- But it is! The End is history now! - her voice, close to crying, was pleading him.
- Is it though? Is it?!
- It is, Rythian. You have to let it go.
He stared at the ground and spoke in a quiet voice:
- Every time I wake up, every time I look in the mirror, every time I look at the ender portal I am reminded of my mask, of my scars, of all the shit that happened to me. You think it’s easy to let it go!?
He screamed out the last part and didn’t quiet down.
- My parents were killed because they were scientists. The End was opened because of science. The invasion, the killing, Blackrock was destroyed because of science! How am I supposed to let that go?!
Zoey didn’t answer.
- I’m not asking a rhetorical fucking question, Zoey. How am I supposed to let that go?!
- By moving on!
Her cry was no where as loud as Rythian’s.
- Thank you for telling me the full story, but... It’s all over. I know you dwell in the past, but it has helped you nothing!
His stare was full of anger, but his voice could be mistaken for a completely sane and calm person’s
- Maybe. Maybe it’s helped me avoid the same mistakes. This time, I threw out the past and look what happened.
He left.

Our June 2019 LSAT "Curve" Prediction
It’s one of the most common questions you’ll hear following an exam … “What do you think ‘the curve’ will be?” We’re just a week past the June 2019 exam, so it’s a question on a lot of people’s lips. Some are predicting that the curve will be “-11.” Other’s say, nay, it’s a “-10.”
We don’t want to be left out, so here’s our curve prediction … it’s going to be …
… Don’t Worry About
OK, not to make light of you totally understandable anxiety regarding the test you’ve taken, but the curve is one of the many parts of the LSAT that’s entirely outside of your control. The deadline to cancel your score has already come and went. You’ve either elected not to cancel your score, in which case you will be getting your score back on June 27, regardless of what this curve is, or you’ve decided to cancel your score, in which case the curve is re-a-a-a-lly irrelevant to you.
It’s nice to think of LSAC lavishing June 2019 test takers with a magnificently generous curve. Like a “-14”! But those exceedingly forgiving curves are rare, for one. Moreover, a forgiving curve won’t necessarily mean you scored better than usual on the June test.
We’ve gone over in “the curve” multiple posts from multiple angles already, but let’s summarize these discussions in this post. Today, we’ll discuss what these curves even refer to, why they’re less illustrative than they may seem, and why more forgiving curves don’t necessarily mean you’ll score better.
What Does a -11 (or -12 or -9 or -Whatever) Curve Even Mean?
This one’s easy. When people talk about a test being a “-11 curve,” they’re referring to how many questions you can miss and still earn a 170 on a given test. A -11 curve would mean you could miss 11 questions (on the entire test) and still earn a 170. A -12 curve would mean you could miss 12 and earn a 170. A -9 would mean you could miss 9. You get it? You get it.
Why does the curve people talk about reflect the number of questions you can miss and still get a 170? Why not a 160? Or 152, the quote-unquote “average” score? I don’t know. 170 was just sort of what everyone decided to go with.
I suppose it’s because a score of 170 is the target score of a lot of people who go all-in on the LSAT (AKA our people) set for themselves. It’s not terribly relevant to most LSAT takers, though. Only a little more than 2% of all test takers earn a score of 170 or higher. So “the curve” people talk about only refers to a number of misses that almost 98% of all test takers will exceed. Most will exceed that number by quite a bit … by like 20, 30, 40 questions. It’s sort of like a pilot of a commercial flight announcing, moments after takeoff, “Folks, we have about … [ahhhhh] … more than eight minutes left on a transatlantic flight from New York to London.” Not super informative!
But, even so, it would seem like these curves would generally indicate how difficult a test was. A test on which you could miss more questions and still earn a 170 would be harder … right? And conversely … a harder test would allow you to miss more questions and still earn that 170 … right? So a -12 test would be uniformly more difficult than a -11 test, which would be harder than a -10 test, and so on … right? Well …
Why These Curves Are Less Illustrative than They May Seem
… It’s not quite that simple. Remember the curve people refer to tells you about the number of questions you could miss and still earn a 170. It doesn’t tell you how many questions you could miss and still earn a 165. Or 160. Or 150. Or literally any other score. And just because you could miss more and earn a 170 on a -12 test as compared to a -11 test, that doesn’t necessarily mean you could miss more on the -12 test and still earn a 165, or 160, or 150, or literally any other score. Here, take a look at how some of recent LSATs were “curved.”
The 170 curve simply doesn’t predict what the curve will be for other scores. Compare the 170 curve for the September 2017 and the June 2017 exams. The September was “-11 test,” so it seems like it was a great deal more difficult than the June exam — which was a miserly -9 curve. And that may have been true … for people scoring in the 170s. But for those who were scoring in the mid-150s, the June 2017 exam was apparently more difficult — they could miss 36 questions and still earn a 155, while the September 2017 takers could only miss 34. These two tests were apparently about the same for people earning a 160, though.
Every LSAT is going to have some questions that are just more difficult, some that are just plain easier, and many that are somewhere in between those two extremes. The curves for 170 and 165 scores tell you about how test takers fared with the most difficult questions. For the vast majority of test takers, those are questions they’re skipping, or not getting to before the section ends, or attempting to answer but usually getting wrong. It’s not terribly informative about the questions that will make or break their score.
The curves for lower scores would tell you how people fared on the easiest questions. And that information wouldn’t be terribly informative for the people earning high scores — those are questions they’re getting correct without breaking much of a sweat either way.
The curves for the scores between 145 and 165 may be relevant to most test takers (since, of course, those are the scores that around 65% percent of test takers earn). But, as you can see from the chart above, those aren’t super well-correlated with the curves for a 170.
If this all seems kind of ridiculously intricate and overly complicate and perhaps even a descent into madness on the part of your blogger, then … yeah, we agree! It’s part of the reason why we don’t think you should worry about the curve. But, nonetheless, it’s OK to want a forgiving curve … right? Like a curve on that September 2016 test … right?
Why More Forgiving Curves Are Not Necessarily Better
I’m not so sure! It’s kind of a careful-what-you-wish-for scenario.
Let’s say I am A Person Who Wants to Earn a 170 on the LSAT. It’s my dream … it’s on my dream board and everything.
So, as A Person Who Wants to Earn a 170 on the LSAT, why wouldn’t I want a -12 curve? That’s a lot better than a -9 curve, no? I have precisely three more questions I can carelessly miss — which I, crassly, have taken to calling “F— Up Opportunities” (or “FUOs”) — on a test with a -12 curve than on a test with a -9 curve. That’s more room for error, right? And because I am a fallible human being in addition to A Person Who Wants to Earn a 170 on the LSAT, that room for error can only benefit me.
That’s perhaps true in the abstract, but those extra FUOs aren’t being magnanimously gifted to me by the LSAT Gods. They’re there for a reason. Most tests that have that many FUOs have a really, really brutal logic game or Reading Comp passage.
So let’s say I am not only A Person Who Wants to Earn a 170 on the LSAT but I’m also A Person Who Has Been Earning 170s on My LSAT Practice Exams. And in doing so, I’ve been crushing Logic Games section. I’ve been only missing, at most, one or two questions per LG section in my practice exams. To transition into A Person Who Did In Fact Earn a 170 on the LSAT, I’m counting on missing at most one or two questions on my LG section, even with a forgiving curve.
If I got my wish, and sat for that amazingly curve-alicious September 2016 exam, then one of the games I got was this totally unique, insanely difficult “computer virus” game (and this is to say nothing of the brutal passage about a horrible woman named Eileen Gray). It didn’t really look like any of the games I tried throughout my LSAT studies, because no similar game has ever appeared on the LSAT. Maybe I figured it out. But if I didn’t, then I’m missing four or five or six questions on that game alone, more than offsetting the advantage I’m getting with that forgiving curve. And I am, consequently, not becoming A Person Who Did In Fact Earn a 170 on the LSAT.
I don’t know about you, but I’d rather roll the dice with your typically difficult games and passages and a “normal” curve, rather than countenancing a bizarre and perhaps stupefying game or passage and a slightly more forgiving curve.
————
All of this is to say that you really shouldn’t worry about the curve of the June test. Some seemingly good curves are actually not-good, some seemingly not-good curves are actually not-that-bad, and who can say what a good and not-good curve even is, anyway?. So take some well-deserved timed away from the LSAT, its curves and otherwise. If you must agonize about something, try focusing your attentions to your law school applications.

2.  She got very high grades in her magical primary school before going to Hogwarts and always showed off to her parents. she lived off the praise

Thunderbirds
Gordon/Alan

3. Scuba-diving partner is always Alan. Just like he would be his partner in a two-man car race if there ever was one.
4. Despite the stern lectures from Jeff, while he was teaching Gordon to drive. Gordon was passing on everything he said to Alan so they could learn together
Gordon/Scott
1. Scott was the one who taught Gordon how to swim before he could walk
2. He’s forever going to be grateful that Scott pushed him to get back in the water after his accident even though he was being a brat about it
3. He was also a huge motivator in his recovery during those months in the hospital
4. When they were younger, it was always Scott who put his baby brothers to bed instead of Jeff. As a result, whenever people talked about fathers, it was Scott he pictured for a few solid years
Virgil/Alan
1. Whether he knows it or not, it was Alan who put Virgil on the path to try being a doctor. With all the scrape the youngest got into
2. Alan is his favorite subject to paint because he’s the one with the most patience. He’s also the subject of the first song that he wrote on his own
3. Virgil taught Alan the piano and he’s fairly good
4. He has a folder of drawings that toddler Alan did when he wanted to be a artist like big brother. He keeps them in a safe in his room
Scott/Virgil
1. Like Alan and Gordon, Scott is Virgil’s best friend.
2. While they were in a regular highschool, Scott John and Virgil were all sent to the principal’s office for fighting. Scott was probably at the most 15 at the time. They were expelled because they refused to say what happened.
3. Virgil was accelerated in school because he wanted to be in the same grade as one of his big brothers. So he pushed himself hard
4. None of the ribbons he won in art shows ever means as much as the one that Scott made for him when he got his first painting into a gallery at age nine. He has it put away safely as well.
Bonus
Iggy/Bianca
1. She wants to ask Iggy to take her flying to see how it is but the fear outweighs the curiosity
2. Bi does have one of the feathers from his wings, she keeps it safely pinned on her jacket so the Hermes cabin won’t take it.
3. It’s a personal goal to sneak up on him without getting caught to see if she actually can do it
4. When they spend time together, she only sees her friend who probably needs someone to talk to once in awhile. And he offers the easy listening on her end too.
