heard the funniest story today about a guy i want to meet so bad just because he’s hilarious in my head, and i will try to do it justice. this story is about my friend and his coworker.

my friend tells me that this coworker is the kind of guy that’s tall, scrawny, and so sure of his ability to win a fight against anyone. he talked about this regularly, saying he could win a fight against literally anyone. my friend would get bored and just talk to this guy, because he was the most unintentionally funny guy he’d ever met.

my friend decides to ask him, “you say you can win a fight against anyone. what if i hired a seven foot tall, 300 pound, just pure muscle guy to fight you. would you win?”

to which the coworker replies, “oh, easy. done it. i’d win.”

“what about two?”

“light work. i’d beat them up.”

the questions continue, from three to four to five and so on.

“okay, but what about ten? you don’t even know they’re coming. they just come out of nowhere and jump you. do you think you’d win?”

“absolutely. i’d wipe the floor with ‘em.”

“okay, fine. what about eleven?”

“nah, couldn’t do eleven.”

(this is where the room dissolved into laughter and you think it’s over. that is the funniest punchline i can imagine.)

“dude, i wish i could hire ten guys to come best you up.”

“do it. i’ll beat them up and take the money.”

“what if they catch you in the bathroom and you have your pants down or something?”

“i’ll pull up my pants and beat them up.”

“you think they’re gonna wait for you to pull your pants up?”

“they better.”

I bet pre-op Max hated his maid uniform to some degree honestly.

Not because of the dress, but just because the outfit is fairly form-fitting. And at the time he really started spiralling in his gender crisis, before he told anybody, having something he wore almost everyday that didn't "hide" anything was really screwing him up.

And he probably did ask Alcina about getting a bigger size, but she denied the request. She claimed the loose fit didn't look professional, and the one he had still fit him fine.

I saw this scene, and I was immediately transported to 1981.

The glass building on the left is 345 Park Ave (St Bart’s is 325 Park). My very first secretarial job was in that building on the 35th floor in the typing pool. I got assigned to a specific partner within a month. His office was on the 15th floor, overlooking the church. I have great memories of going into his office just to look at St Bart’s. Such a beautiful church.

I had some good times in that building and the surrounding neighborhood. 💜

OH i didnt explain the general plot of OITT!!!

tldr (ill def make longer posts abt it in-depth later);

- Mira (Zios was left free) was captured right before phantoms left Jamaa alone during the first real invasion/attack

- Jamaa had a LOT longer of a downtime period, as the phantoms didn’t return for quite some time compared to canon, and thus they let their guards down after the Alphas that were looking for signs of phantoms came up empty-handed

- Around the time of Return of the Phantoms (which, of course takes place a LOT later); they ended up coming back full force & with tech that animals just couldn’t match or have any reasonable time to react too, esp since it was developed during that time where Jamaa had its guard down

- Basically from Return of the Phantoms to a few adventures up, it was just a sign of what to come; the animal adventurers failed to do any real damage to phantoms or drive them back even slightly

- Mira was flat-out-murdered after this by the Phantom Queen, which left Alphas that relied on magic basically defenseless

And the rest is just. history. animals are now incredibly divided & only a few small civilizations are really left, several Alphas didn’t make it (one being Tavie). Zios is free but since he knows Miras gone he no longer has any reason to help animals & has basically left them to fend for themselves 

Half the reason animals were so ill-prepared was because of their king assumption, too! They assumed Phlegm & Fester were the only kings, and that if any others existed, they’d be similar. And that was just... flat out wrong . Chloro, Plasm, Golgi, and Spindle turned out to be huge, wildly diverse threats- threats that animals just didn’t have the capacity to react too

I think Mia being Ethan's favourite in the Swap!AU would be perfect because she absolutely Does Not want to be.

Like, Ethan sees her as the favourite because she's always "happy" and loyal and doesn't test his patients like the others will on occasion. He also deems her the "responsible one" because she's the eldest Lord, and perhaps that's part of why he allowed her to have her own "children".

While he loves all the Lords, there's a clear favouritism that they hate, and it makes them resent Mia despite the fact that she doesn't like the favouritism either. She doesn't LIKE being the favourite, she doesn't want to be the one Ethan always picks first for things, she'd much rather go unnoticed.

But Ethan scares her so much she doesn't want to do anything to upset him, either.

Meanwhile Lucas TRIES to be the favourite and he tends to go completely ignored.
