NICHOLAS HYDE is 51 and is portrayed by JEFFREY DEAN MORGAN. He is currently TAKEN.
Designation: criminal
Occupation: pimp for Organisation’s sex trafficking ring
KEY FACTS (warning for rape and sexual assault)
Let’s make one thing clear: women are only fun when they’re on their back.
And even then, Nicholas finds their mewling unsatisfactory. He needs to hear them scream, feel them quiver at his touch, to shrink under his gaze. The feeling of power gives him a rush, and if he can fuck a girl raw while feeling it, that’s just a bonus.
Ideal for his job for the Organisation, which tasks him with watching and managing a wide variety of women who have been forced to sell themselves to pay off debts. Or, just because.
While many of the Organisation’s pimps are capable, there’s none that are quite as effective as Nicholas is at keeping the women in line.
BIOGRAPHY
Nicholas grew up with blood stained teeth, his eyes always open, and his ears always listening. At a young age, he had to learn how to take care of himself because there was no one else to do that for him. He was a result of too many drunken nights, too many heads full of smoke to ever pay attention to things like birth control. The thought never crossed his whore of a mother’s mind to use any sort of protection. With the type of business she was in, you would think that would be the first thing on her mind but it seemed to be the furthest. She was a mess of a woman, a walking talking accident waiting to happen. That accident came in the form of one Nicholas Hyde. Unlike the likely hundreds of times before, Nicholas’ mother did not get rid of him. To this day he is still unsure if it is because she truly wanted a baby or if it was because she was too out of it to ever notice she was pregnant until Nicholas came screaming into the world. His entrance was less than stellar; having landed head-first on the cold tile of an empty bathroom, Nicholas fought his way into life. God knows his mother did everything she could to make his existence harder. The woman seemed hellbent on ruining his life, leaving him unattended for hours, even days at a time. When he was watched over, it wasn’t by the most savory of characters. In short, Nicholas had a rough childhood and this caused him to grow up and fend for himself rather quickly.
The one thing his father gave to him was a family name that everyone seemed to know. His father was a drug dealer who barely made it through life. He was selfish and filled with hatred, the type of man who would beat the shit out of you for looking at him wrong. It seemed as if Nicholas’ mother always looked at his father wrong because she spent a lifetime with bruises coating her body and her lips too swollen to speak up. Nicholas was never entirely sure what his mother ever did wrong but according to his father, she could never do anything right. This instilled something evil in Nicholas: the idea that women could do nothing but fuck up, that they were worthless. This was only proven right in Nicholas’ eyes when his mother would do nothing for him time and time again, while even the slimiest of mothers that lived in the same shady motel seemed to pay the smallest attention to their children. When Nicholas was only eleven years old, his father came home to his mother having sex with another man. This man was not just a client, he was a lover. Nicholas sat in the bathroom, his feet pressed hard against the door as he listened to his father coldly murder his mother and then in a rare act of remorse, kill himself. As Nicholas listened to the screams, then the silence, then the sirens of the police, he didn’t feel anything. He thought that seeing his mother and father lying in their own pools of blood would incite a reaction. But it didn’t. Nicholas even put his hand over his heart, trying to feel it beating harder. But there was nothing. He had seen too many dead bodies in his short lifetime for it to affect him anymore. The police eventually came and questioned him. They claimed that he was in shock and called the crime an “act of passion.” That’s all Nicholas ever knew: a life full of hot, bruised, bloody passion. A life of a monster.
Nicholas spent the following years of his life in the foster care system, moving from one fucked up family to the next. When he turned seventeen, he met a girl and he fell fast and quickly in love. It was a teenager sort of love, the kind where empty promises lived on a fairytale high. Nicholas struggled with his feelings, doing his best to put his past behind him. But a wolf still has teeth, even if it never bites. Nicholas spent four years catering to this woman, this girl who took his heart and held it in her hands even if she never meant to do anything with it. It all ended when Nicholas suspected that there was something going on with his girl. When he found her in the motel room, legs spread and heart beating for another man, Nicholas’ suspicions were confirmed. That night Nicholas took control of his life, burying his heart where no one could touch it anymore. He forced his former girlfriend to bury her lover’s body after Nicholas beat him to death. Then he made her find more eager souls to spread her legs for, proving to Nicholas that she was the whore he always thought she was.
Five years passed before the life wore on Nicholas’ first girl. It wasn’t his first lose but it somehow hit him the hardest. He was coming over to her motel as he did every morning to make sure she was still alive, only to find her dead. Her lifeless body lay bloated in the bathroom, her wrists slit. Nicholas only sighed before doing what was necessary. He buried her in the woods and said she went missing. Nobody questioned him because nobody ever did. It was the first time he shed a tear and the last time he ever would. He promised himself then and there that he would never let another get so close.
Nearly a century in the business and Nicholas has yet to slow down. Girls have come and gone for different reasons, but most usually come back to him. He has built an empire from the ashes his parents left him. The lessons they never taught him, he has taught himself. And he’s the best in the business.
PERSONALITY
+ charismatic, clever, protective, strong, and blunt - possessive, cocky, compulsive, brutish, and deceptive
RELATIONSHIPS
Viktor Abramovic— A modeling scout, Nicholas wouldn’t say he’s a friend, but Viktor always gives him pictures of the new girls he finds and lets Nicolas choose one or two for himself. There is usually a surplus of bodies Viktor finds (he’s good at his job, like Nicholas), and it’s a nice way to keep Nicolas interested in the job.
Anabel King— oh, Anabel. The thing thinks she’s getting out this year, but as one of Nicholas’ favorites, he’s already planning on telling her that she’s accrued some interest in her time with the Organisation. Either she can keep working, or she can pay it all off in one go — for the low, low price of just one night with Nicholas. Nic’s not sure what makes him more excited: the thought of her fear and making her cave or the actual night itself.
Danika Wright and Lia Cormack— two other prostitutes that Nic has been tasked with watching over. They’re both veritably terrified of him, which means he’s doing his job. At the moment, he’s not as interested in them as he is Anabel, but ... well, his mind has been known to change.
