I noticed one thing
Sky gets 4 letters from the postman, yet we only see Time, Twilight and Four reading them. Who got the fourth?
In Dawn part 4 Sky clearly gets 4 letters, 2 in a sky blue envelope, and 2 in a beige one, then chases the postman with them in hand.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He probably put them in his bag in part 7, as they aren't visible
In part 8 Sky gets takes the letters (probably from his bag). Aside from the change of color (probably due to the different lighting? the first and last envelopes should be blue while the middle ones are beige) Sky looks like he's holding 4 envelopes.
Tumblr media
Are we really sure Sun didn't write him anything? What if he got a letter but for some reasons he's pretending he didn't? Maybe he could "feel" Sun's letter wasn't lighthearted and happy and he didn't want to ruin the joyful moment the others were having? Maybe he read it and quickly put it away before the others could notice?
Sky where's the damn fourth chaos emerald letter???

Again, a game lost to another for one single vote! 30 people voted for A link between worlds and 29 people voted for the minish cap!
We can say Minish Cap wins the "best 2d Zelda game" award!
I love both these 2 games. I have to say I didn't vote for neither of them! Actually, albw is in my top 3! In albw, I love the 2 words, and the main mechanic is cool and interesting, I'd say innovative! I also really like Ravio, how he saved Link at the beginning (and I believe Ravio saves him every time too, Sheerow takes his tools and Ravio brings him back to the dungeon entrance or to his house, and heals him enough to continue!). I like to think Ravio has another bracelet and he and Link can meet again through the sacred realm or a single passage they left open (maybe behind Link's home?).
Anyway I really loved it and wish it ranked higher, but I gotta remove it from this round! Congrats to minish cap for winning over albw for one vote! Funny how alttp and albw are next to each other.
Back to the poll, remember to vote the game you think is the worst out of these in the list! Please don't vote a game if you don't know it! Knowing means having played the game (even not completed), watched a gameplay, read the wiki! Having read the manga is ok too, I can't think of any other things rn but I hope you got what I mean :D
Reblogs are appreciated, since for obvious reasons I won't tag this as Linked Universe, but the majority of my interactions come from that fandom!

What if...
What if Sun didn't write Sky a letter because she knows they'll be visiting Skyloft or the Surface soon??

I had this in mind:
The heroes travel to a post apocalyptic Hyrule. It's Wild's, but only one week or so after the calamity, so a younger version of himself is in the shrine of resurrection.
They want to check what's going on, but Wild doesn't want to be recognized. History must not be changed, he doesn't want people to believe he's already healed and ready to help them after only one week, and moreover he doesn't want to answer any questions about his present time, his life, his new self and so on. Some of the other heroes are known in his Hyrule too, Flora loved history and shared her knowledge with everyone willing to listen.
So the heroes with green tunics change and dress up with their other clothes, abd Wild wears the climber set, with the addition of the black cape. And they pretend to be travellers from another kingdom. Legend suggests to say they're from Holodrum, a land that exists in this timeline but isn't really known. They pretend there's a tradition of naming newborns based on something happening at the moment of their birth, and so they make up stories. Wind was born in a windy day, Twilight was born during sunset, Four was born at 4:00 on the fourth day of the fourth month and so on.
They reach Kakariko, many people ask questions and they make up stories and facts, but luckily they're all linda good at it and nobody recognizes the heroes but Impa and Purah suspect something, so the heroes decide to reveal themselves to the sisters only. They're in that house, ghat has been almost the same for 100 years, and hear a kid's voice from upstairs.
And Wild remembers his little sister, clearly.
In his time nobody has ever talked about her, not even Impa or Purah. Why? He asks their young selves now, they tell him she's living with them now because both her father and brother aren't available. Wild gets emotional, he needs to see her, and the kid recognizes him instantly. They talk, and Wild realizes a thing. Maybe nobody mentioned her because she disappeared. Maybe they can live happily together again, if she goes with them. She'll have the opportunity to live in a restored Hyrule, with him and Flora in their house in Hateno, with all the other kids, and learn in the newly built school.
His little sister accepts without hesitation.
The heroes leave to defeat the enemy, some infected lynels, and then go back and take the kid with them. The heroes teach her some basic fighting techniques to defend herself in case it's needed, and Wild teaches her how to make potions. They travel for some time, the kid's personality is the same as Wild’s new self, and then they finally end in Wild’s present Hyrule where the kid finds her new home in Hateno, taken care of by Flora, and with many new friends.

Hear me out
The fact Sun is shorter than Sky doesn't mean Sky is tall, Sky can be short and Sun can be very short.
Imagine Sky introducing Sun to the chain. She's the goddess reborn, the others imagine her as a tall lady, probably dressed in white, regal and elegant...
And then once they arrive on Skyloft this short gremlin not much taller than Four, probably as tall as Wind, with a knight academy tunic and boots, sprints towards Sky so fast the two both fall off Skyloft.
Sun is shorter than Sky by maybe 5cm? Not that much, so yep they're both short :D
That's is, that's the post :)

Hello and sorry again for being late! Here's round 11, with only 6 games left! We can say these are for sure the best Zelda games, they're all almost equally good and the choice depends on personal likings, for example Wind Waker vs Twilight princess for colors and art style! Or Breath of the Wild vs Skyward Sword for fighting style and story! Though Ghirahim is the best villain ever. Fight me.
As for Minish Cap, I'm so glad it reached this poit. I loved it. As I said, maybe not as much as albw but the art style is really gorgeous! And we have one of the few games in which Link and Zelda are childhood friends and close! It gets better in the italian translation because they're not only friends but also related, Smith there is both the uncle of Link and Zelda! Of course worldwide Smith is known as Link's grandpa so maybe he's Zelda's great-uncle!

There's something funny with Sky.
I think he fully understands the hard work behind the creation of every object, because he carves wood. In his era almost everything must be handmade and unique, so are his creations, the chandelier at Lumpy Pumpkin, the vases in the academy... He would try to be as careful as possible with all these creations, If someone ever destroyed one of his statuettes for fun he would go mad!
But he's also a Link, and the first moreover... so he also loves to destroy things! His mind is constantly fighting between "let's preserve this work of art" and "DESTROY!!!" and sometimes the latter wins and here's Sky destroying the chandelier, the vases, or the statuettes with (even minor) mistakes. Of course this doesn't apply to the monsters' stuff, with these Sky is directly in "destroy" mode. The others, aside from Legend, aren't as artsy as him so they're constantly in destroy mode >:)
Also he's the calmest and most forgiving of the group but he's also the best at fighting and the scariest while furious. He's either calm and quiet or totally furious and loud and there's no in between.

Soo, some time ago I used a really cool picrew by @itsbaydews to make the Links, but honestly it's so great I had to make also some Zeldas and other characters :D
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Unified Timeline! Sun and Sky, Dot and Four (Dot's hair should have been a bit more blondish), Lullaby (they kept the Sheik attire), Malon (Her hair should have been more reddish instead, but the other red was too dark) and Time
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Child timeline! Dusk (yellow eyes because of Puppet zelda) and Twi Artemis (I hc that she's naturally a brunette but dyes her hair blonde), Linkle (as Wars's little sister!) and Wars Flora (someone will recognize a small detail on her face) and Wild, who should have slightly blonder hair but that blonde was too light
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Adult timeline! Tetra (I love those freckles), Aryll (high ponytails because there weren't low ones) and Wind Spirit/Angel (with yellow eyes because of the possession) and Tracks!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fallen hero timeline! Fable (she got vitiligo because her painting got discolored spots), Ravio (with fluffy hair because why not) and Legend Dawn (Zelda 1), Aurora (her design is taken from a manga promoting Zelda 2, in which she's literally a kid), and Hyrule!
Ok then I spent like 3 days to do this I really should go and do something useful XD
Here's the picrew if any of you wants to try it!

Hot take: Hylia's first hero isn't another Link, or "First" as we call him in LU. It's the same Link from SkSw, it's Sky!
Because he and Zelda/Sun travelled to the distant past and there Zelda turned Link's sword into the true Master Sword and made his triforce symbol show, officially choosing him as her hero. And the final battle takes place in the past, so in the past Hylia's chosen hero defeats Demise.
The wing ceremony, with Hylia choosing a hero, is a reference to Zelda choosing Sky himself in the distant past :)

Hey people! Do you perhaps know LU fics with any of these features? I've already read something but I'd like to know your favorites!
- Legend and Fable as siblings (or better twins?)
- Time and Twilight are actually father and son, bonus if there's Malon too for family moments
- Sky isn't always sleeping and the slowest, but the best at fighting (the most agile? motion controls?) and he sleeps at unlikely times because of insomnia or other reasons
- Linkle is Warriors's (little) sister
- Twilight and Dusk interact
- Hyrule is a trans man
- Legend acts strange around Four for a reason :)

Night, the heroes are asleep, aside from Four and Legend on watch. The fire creates shadows that look like dancing all to the same rhythm. All except Four’s, still and slightly off angle given the position of the fire.
And Legend knows why. He has seen him. He knows Four is made of four people, or better, five. He knows all his story and the end of it. When the heroes first met, Legend was almost having a breakdown or a panic attack, and today he still doesn't know how he managed to keep his composure.
Maybe if Four uses another sword he won't be in contact with Vaati's spirit, and Four will have a different future, Legend hopes. That sword has a demon in there. And with Four's friend not only using dark magic but being made of it, if Vaati manages to corrupt him... Four will become the monster Legend knows.
When Legend was a kid, back then, he didn’t care about him that much. He had seen his uncle die, Zelda being captured, soldiers chasing him. Another person being turned into a monster wasn't a big difference, yes it startled him and he felt sorry for him, what could turn what looked like a kid into a monster? He hesitated a bit before killing him, but at the end, he was just another defeated enemy.
But now Legend knows he wasn’t a kid, he's a young man, and a hero. A Link. Who's sitting right next to him and talking about something he sadly isn't listening to. He kind of likes listening to his stories, Four’s personality seems to slightly change depending on the story he's telling, of course Legend knows why. Said hero, Legend understands, is talking about his job and hobby. How his grandpa taught him to forge tools, how he forged his own sword during his first adventure. He's never letting any secret slip though.
Legend tries to wipe the image of his friend being corrupted and dead from his mind and listens to him, until Four asks Legend about his sword. All the heroes except Sky and Legend brought one that isn't the Master Sword, maybe a coincidence, or maybe it was wanted. Also, Dink didn't seem to fear Legend’s sword while it was terrified of Sky's. Legend explains his sword might as well be a recreation of Sky's and not actually the same. The hero before him failed, maybe the sword was destroyed in the process too, and the sages created a replacement. That might be the reason everyone could extract it so they also created the medallions for security.
After the chat has ended, the two are staring at the fire, looking around and just enjoying the starry night. Four takes his sword and examines it, looking for scratches. Legend, instinctively, asks him if he has ever used another sword. Four tells him about his grandpa's sword, made for the Picori Festival.
Legend asks him if he has ever thought of going back to using that sword. Four asks why, the Four Sword is way better. Legebd says that maybe when that much magic isn't needed he could use a simpler sword. Four, surprised, asks him how he knows that his sword holds quite a lot of magic. Legend explains he can feel it, he's been usjng magic for years now. Fours looks at him straight in the eyes and asks what other things he can feel about the sword. Legend realizes he has said too much. He's becoming red. Four understands he knows at least something and asks him again. Everyone is asleep, the can't hear them.
"I know the reason behind its name" he says. "I know you can divide" Four's eyes are wide. Though Wild already knew that secret too. Four reassures him he was going to tell the others anyway in a short time. Legend smiles, but it isn't genuine. There's more. "...And?" Four asks him.
Legend looks at him, then at the shadow, then at him again. "his position isn't quite right given the light coming from the fire. Tell him I said hi". Four's eyes get wide again. Legend reassures him he won't attack Shadow. And goes on. "I also know there's an evil being trapped there, are you sure it's safe to keep using that sword?"
Four freezes. Legend knows everything. Four uses magic too but he has never had his ability. Is it really just high exposure to magic? Did he know him before? Four's violet eyes analyze him, the sword, his shadow (that's now signing something to Legend, who seems to understand him?). But most importantly, is his sword safe? He has forged it, he has done everything perfectly and yes Vaati escaped one time but the seal has become stronger then, nobody except Legend even knows there's a dark demon trapped in there. Why is Legend concerned?
"You did nothing wrong Four, you forged that the best you could". Legend gets his attention. "Just... if something ever looks off about the sword... ah I don't know how to say it. Be careful, ok?"
Four is about to answer when they both remember their watch should have ended an hour before, they need to wake up Twilight and Wind!

@bradicalguy I had another thought...
I think this one is sadder than the other one so I'll leave it under the cut :)
Time is reading the letter Sky gave him. Malon wrote it, a three page letter. First, the general info, the ranch is ok, there's still that one stake that needs to be fixed but it won't break for now. The pregnant cow finally gave birth! Talon is fine, he's getting some rest. Then, the usual questions. How's the journey going? Is everyone alright, Epona included? And our Twilight?
In the second page she described how Twilight made them happy for the future again. She wrote how she felt like they couldn’t create a family after their failed tries, and then Twilight’s existence changed everything. She was so happy and she hoped nothing had happened to him.
The third page was the news. Malon's last tries failed after one month or two at most. This time she was telling Time she was pregnant and already at the third month! She hadn't told Time before because she imagined she'd lose it again and didn't want him to suffer while on a journey, but that was a new milestone, maybe thanks to Twilight? She was happier than ever and she hoped they'd visit her soon.
And the dialogue between Time and Twilight happened, with Time finding out he had gotten way more worried about him than ever. Maybe now he was really realizing he was a dad.
They didn't have the chance to visit Lon Lon or Time's era for a long period. They had the chance to meet the postman again one time after 3 other months and Time got 3 letters, one for each month, telling him it was going well, she for sure wasn't going to lose it this time, and on the last letter there was a pictograph of her looking so happy and with a visible baby bump, and a note: if it's a boy I'm calling him Wolfie, you've been warned!
The heroes finally got the chance to go to Lon Lon after other 3 months. Time was soooo anxious and happy and scared and he didn't know what, but mostly excited and happy. They hadn’t gotten other letters then, as their last travels were short and the portals disappeared quickly. But here they were!
Time ran to the door so fast, calling Malon from the street already, way before reaching the door. But she didn't answer. When he got to the door, he listened closely and heard a baby crying and someone singing a lullaby. That was the reason she didn't answer! The baby was there and Malon was singing a lullaby!
He opened the door, and found Talon sleeping on the couch. He took a blanket and put it over him, the others arrived and Legend made him notice Talon wasn't just sleeping, he had most likely fainted. That was strange. So strange.
Time and the others ran upstairs, to the bedroom.
Malon was there, fainted like Talon. And a cradle with a blue ribbon and "Wolfie" written on. But no baby. They could hear him cry though! And someone singing a lullaby!
The bedroom door was slammed shut with them all in. The crying stopped. When they reopened it, they saw Dink in front of them, shapeshifted into a dark Malon, singing and holding Time's now lifeless son. You've been too slow, fairy boy! Said Dink in Malon's voice, then disappeared.
:)

Finally, all the remaining games fit in one poll!
During the last round we lost Link's awakening/LANS in the first half and Phantom hourglass in the second half! Phantom hourglass got more votes so it's one position behind.
Phantom hourglass was an interesting game. Honestly I remember Spirit Tracks more vivdly, it left something more than PH. But Linebeck is a cool character and I clearly remember the final battle and the ending! As for Link's awakening, I played the DX version on NSO and got bored after the third dungeon. Yes the story is great, but I played already knowing the ending and the gameplay wasn't really worth continuing in my experience, also knowing nothing really happened. Well, in PH technically nothing happens either, but only from the others' perspective, Wind and Tetra did have the adventure and Linebeck is the proof! Though it's funny how the 2 games based on a dream got yeeted out together :)
