CPN : xiao laoshi’s oasis post 🤍
Today, our lord and savior xiao zhan posted these photos. same disclaimer, it’s cpn and all that. It’s speculation & interpretation only.
So the place GG featured is in Hengdian, where he is currently at. The funny thing is, that place has framed photos of him and yibo. Lol. I wonder if he saw it while he was there. There are other celebrity photos there ofcourse but theirs is on the same floor and at one point were beside each other. It just makes sense ya know— the two main lead of the hottest drama that summer.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hello To Bobo whose Oasis interaction point increased from 0 to 2. Lol. What are you doing. How many coincidences of him going from 0 to a certain number every time GG posts on oasis. I don’t know why GG has to reduce swelling — he isn’t filming a costume drama where he has to be stick thin for the clothes to look good. 🥲 I just wish he can eat more.
Now let’s go to the photo of that billboard from the Korean tv series Liberation Notes. I read about this just now and it’s totally up GG’s alley. It’s slice of life and tells a story or life and relationships— not just romantic love of two people. The synopsis is:
My Liberation Note revolves around three siblings, struggling with their respective issues in life. While the eldest sibling Yeon Ki-jeong (Lee El) is heading into her forties, single but hopeful to find love, the second sibling — Yeon Chang-hee (Lee Min-ki) is struggling with making it big on the work front. Meanwhile, the youngest of the three, Yeon Mi-jeong (Kim Ji-won) is shown as an introverted, strong-willed person who feels empty inside. They live with a father who rarely speaks and a mother is ensure the peace is kept in place.
Why did he share it’s photo during the day/night? Well. Turns out, It's a billboard that the heroine sees on her way to work every day. Then she took a photo and sent it to the male lead to say that she would feel better when she saw it. Every time the male lead saw this sign, she would think of the heroine. In addition, because the heroine in the movie lives in Sanpo and is far from Seoul where she works, there is another meaning that although the journey is long, she thinks that something good will happen today, so the long journey becomes bearable. This just reminds me of the Hengdian to Hangzhou CPN. It’s feeling exhausted but still having hope cause you have something to look forward to despite the long journey.
and this specific line in the series: “Just imagine sitting here and working with you. Then even this bad thing will also become beautiful. So i can keep going. I'm acting as a woman who is loved. Play a woman without flaws. I'm in love with someone right now, being supported by someone. So I try to imagine it's a comfortable state. I've been living happily ever after with you. I want to hold this idea instead of feeling exhausted because you're not around.”
Tumblr media
Does this remind you of someone? This whole thing just screams GG and Web. Or probably GG saw this and thought of his relationship with Yibo and how he truly feels sometimes. I’m so happy their filming sites are so close right now. 🙏🏼 ( what the girl in here is going through is different from GG of course but the sentiment is similar. Wishing someone was there. )
And like the “main couple” that audience loved in this series is Mi Jeong and Mr. Gu. There are a couple of line from these characters that just scream BJYX to me! 😭😭😭 like this one:
Tumblr media
I’m getting flashbacks from these two cheering each other one from when they were filming TU in 2018 and beyond that. There were a lot of outside voices who didn’t believe they can amount to something— but they had each other that time. 🤍
and this line too :
Tumblr media
some more lines that made me 😭😭😭
“I get weird when I’m with you. I keep saying things I never thought of.” – Mr. Gu
“This man. He’d never let me hit rock bottom. He’s stopping me.” – Mi Jeong
This one reminded me of Yibo :
“He has no shell. You know, there are people who are very polite, but it feels like it’s just their shell. A shell so hard that it feels like you’ll never be able to reach the person inside. But this guy has no shell.”
– Mi Jeong
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyway, I love the idea that GG still gets to watch dramas and movies in his own time ( probably when he was in quarantine ) and shares it with us. I like it when he gives us a peek of what he likes at the moment and probably some of his thoughts. I truly hope, along with the other clowns here that the something good is Chen Yu. Lol.
That’s all! Have a good week everyone! 🤍

My liberation notes
I'm glad I watched this series. I can only say that I lived with them from the beginning till the end, and I'm really sad because I watched it in a short time but I'm satisfied with every second that I spent. I really understood the feeling of realness and the flow of life. there are few series that are so real to me and I tried to go more towards such series, but still there are degrees of imagination in them, My liberation notes are undoubtedly among the most real ones. it'll remain in my mind and heart for a long time. for me, every moment was logical and acceptable, even the end. the ending was so logical and real that I don't feel like I finished the series. as if those characters will wake up tomorrow. continue their lives. in my mind, Mr. Gu returned to Sanpo so that he could feel a sense of belonging in a place where he felt he didn't belong. Mi-jeong also will go back there and they definitely will continue to worship each other. Ki-jeong and Tae-hoon will be together too. as for Chang-hee, he will definitely continue living the life he likes. liberation club will definitely continue...

My Liberation Notes (2022)
Tumblr media
Rating: 9.5/10.0
It took me awhile to watch this one. I usually finish an 16-episode drama in less than a week but I finished this one for about 2 weeks despite having a 1-week break from work.
I have been curious about this drama since last year due to the female lead's personality which is the same as mine, who is often judged as a cool person but really is only an introverted one.
This drama has a good story and I like how the emotions were conveyed. It has a really slow-pacing halfway but that's how life is. It's really boring and it makes this drama realistic. At first, I thought I was like Yeom Mi-jeong who is really timid and does not react despite seeing everything. At some point, I'm like Yeom Chang Hee who is so materialistic and ambitious but in reality, he was just not in the right place. I also felt like Yeom Ki-Jeong who is so judgmental and desperate to find love but is so picky.
Other characters like Mr. Gu, the parents of the 3 characters, and their friends have their own stories to tell - their failures and scars.
This is what makes this drama relatable. It does not show something like people's success stories but rather, it shows how people find the right path after being lost for a long time. It's really heartwarming and like a slap to reality which is something I really need as a lost one too. Life is imperfect and this drama showed how it really is.
I don't want to give it a perfect rating because this is not for everyone. It might stress other people out. Haha.

‘Moving’ Season 2: Will the Hit Disney+ K-Drama Return for More?
Tumblr media
‘Moving’ Season 2 is the question on every fan’s mind after the thrilling finale of the hit Disney+ K-drama. Based on the popular webtoon by Kang Full, ‘Moving’ follows the lives of three high school students who inherit superpowers from their parents and get involved in a dangerous conspiracy. The 20-episode series, which aired its last three episodes on September 20, 2023, boasts a star-studded cast, including Han Hyo Joo, Jo In Sung, and Ryu Seung Ryong, as well as impressive visuals and CGI effects. It also became the most expensive K-drama in history, with a budget of over $100 million. But will there be a ‘Moving’ Season 2? And what can we expect from the next chapter of this action-packed story? Here’s everything we know so far.
Is ‘Moving’ Season 2 Confirmed?
Tumblr media
'Moving' Cast: Go Yoon Jung, Ryu Seung Ryong, and More Reign the Popularity List For Drama Actors As of this writing, there is no official confirmation from Disney+ or Kang Full about the renewal of ‘Moving’ for a second season. However, there are some hints and clues that suggest that the beloved webtoon-based K-drama might come back for more. First of all, Kang Full has other works related to ‘Moving’, such as ‘Timing’ and ‘Bridge’, which feature some of the same characters and expand the universe of superpowered people. In fact, in one of the episodes of ‘Moving’, a character from ‘Timing’ made a cameo appearance. He is Kim Young Tak, a student of Choi Il Hwan who has the ability to stop time. Rumors have it that he might join ‘Moving’ Season 2, and that he might be played by actor Yoo Seung Ho. Secondly, the finale of ‘Moving’ left some loose ends and unanswered questions that could set up the plot for a potential sequel. For example, who is Elias, the mysterious man who looks exactly like Frank, the American agent who was killed by Ju Won? Is he Frank’s twin brother, or a clone? And what is his mission in Korea? Moreover, what will happen to the National Intelligence Service (NIS) after the death of its director, Mr. Min? It seems that agent Ma Sang Gu, played by Park Byung Eun, has taken over his position. But can he be trusted? And what about Shin Hye Won, the high-ranking official who turned out to be an old acquaintance of Jang Hee Soo? She seems to have a special power that prevents her from aging. What is her role in the NIS and its plans for the gifted ones? And finally, what will become of our main trio: Kim Doo Shik, Lee Mi Hyun, and Kim Bong Seok? They managed to survive the final battle at Jeongwon High School and reunite with their friends and families. But they are still in danger from those who want to exploit their powers or eliminate them. Will they be able to live normal lives, or will they have to fight again?
When Will ‘Moving’ Season 2 Be Released?
Tumblr media
(Photo : Ryu Seung Ryong Instagram) If ‘Moving’ Season 2 gets a green light from Disney+ and Kang Full, it might take some time before it hits our screens. The first season of ‘Moving’ began filming in late August of 2021 and finished in early September of 2023. That means it took almost two years to complete the production of 20 episodes. Considering the amount of work and resources involved in creating such a high-quality show, we can expect a similar timeline for ‘Moving’ Season 2. That means we might not see it until late 2025 or early 2026. Of course, this is just an estimate based on the previous schedule. There might be some delays or changes due to various factors, such as the availability of the cast and crew, the COVID-19 pandemic situation, or other unforeseen circumstances.
What Can We Expect From ‘Moving’ Season 2?
Tumblr media
(Photo : Disney Plus Korea) If ‘Moving’ Season 2 becomes a reality, we can expect it to continue the story of Kang Full’s webtoon and explore more aspects of his rich and complex world. We might see more characters from his other works, such as ‘Timing’ and ‘Bridge’, as well as new ones with different powers and backgrounds. We might also learn more about the origin and nature of these powers, and how they are related to politics and science. How did these people get their abilities in the first place? Was it an accident or an experiment? And who is behind it? We might also witness more action scenes and battles between the gifted ones and their enemies, such as the NIS, the CIS (Central Intelligence Service), or other organizations that want to use them or get rid of them. How will they protect themselves and their loved ones from these threats? And last but not least, we might see more development and romance between the main characters, especially Doo Shik and Mi Hyun, who finally confessed their feelings for each other in the finale. Will they be able to stay together, or will they face more obstacles and challenges?
What Do Fans Think About ‘Moving’ Season 2?
Tumblr media
(Photo : Disney+, Yoo Seung Ho Instagram) Fans of ‘Moving’ are eagerly waiting for the announcement of ‘Moving’ Season 2, and they have expressed their love and support for the show on social media. Here are some of their comments: I just finished watching Moving and I’m speechless. It was such a masterpiece. The story, the acting, the effects, everything was perfect. I hope there will be a season 2 because I need more of this amazing show. #Moving Moving is hands down the best K-drama I’ve ever seen. It had everything: action, drama, comedy, romance, suspense, and more. The cast was phenomenal and the chemistry was off the charts. I’m so sad it’s over, but I’m also hopeful for a season 2. Please make it happen, Disney+ and Kang Full! #Moving Moving was a roller coaster ride of emotions. It made me laugh, cry, scream, and cheer. It was so well-written and well-directed. The characters were so relatable and lovable. I’m so proud of them for surviving and finding happiness. But I also want to see more of their adventures and struggles in season 2. Please don’t let this be the end! #Moving
Conclusion
Tumblr media
(Photo : Disney+) ‘Moving’ Season 2 is not confirmed yet, but there are many reasons to believe that it might happen in the future. The show has a loyal fan base, a talented cast and crew, and a captivating story that can be further explored and expanded. We hope that Disney+ and Kang Full will listen to the fans’ wishes and give us another season of this amazing K-drama. Until then, we can rewatch ‘Moving’ on Disney+ and enjoy its thrilling and touching moments. What do you think about ‘Moving’ Season 2? Do you want it to happen? tried watching tomorrow and wasn’t into it, so not going to keep up with that one. again my life sadly didnt grab me despite my love for lee joon ki (i think it’s because i literally just watched a “restart law journey of life all over again” drama)
so for now im currently keeping up with our blues and my liberation notes! i also totally forgot pachinko existed, so i’ll have to watch it because i remember enjoying the book when i read it forever ago
re: our blues, im mainly interested in kim woo bin and han ji min’s characters, and i think the high schoolers as the romeo and juliet of feuding dads are cute. i love eun hui, but girl needs to RUN from han su’s messy ass he won’t be able to catch her with his jacked up toe we keep being subjected to. the homecha comparisons are inevitable, but so far i like the vibe of our blues more (im also a fan of omnibus stories, so)
re: my liberation notes, i DID NOT expect that ending with mr gu + mi jung, but INTO IT. the older siblings im not really connecting with yet, but i like them enough! chang hee telling their dad that he wanted to buy a car to get laid killed me a little. i really like the introvert trio at mi jung’s work and i hope to see more of them. overall this drama is moody and introspective and it’s a nice change of pace

My Liberation Notes further emphasises my bias towards side characters/secondary MCs in a well-written story. While Mi-Jeong is definitely the lead, most relatable to the audience, I cannot wait to see how her siblings' stories unfold instead... And Mr. Gu, of course.
Mi-jeong is a very layered character, feels trapped in the rigmarole called life and has a visceral need to get liberated, that much is evident. But her story, at least for now, ends there. She is, at the moment, only showing growth in her scenes with Mr. Gu. Neither her lone friend, Hyeon-a, nor her colleagues or family, add any value to her storyline in the present narrative (I know, I know, we’re only 4 episodes in).
Ki-Jeong & Chang-Hee on the other hand, there’s mystery still around them. They have that big chaotic energy(TM), more character to their personalities, and are more flawed than Mi-Jeong. Of course, there’s also the one subjective trait—stronger performances from Lee El & Lee Min-Ki respectively.
Now, I’ll be honest, I’ve never liked Lee Min-Ki in the few series that I’ve watched of his (well, one really, that I dropped because I was turned off by his flat acting), but here, he surprisingly brings Chang-Hee to life. This is the first time I’m actually seeing him act and act well, and that comes as a pleasant surprise. It makes Chang-Hee more endearing to me. I also relate to his low self-confidence and just general social anxiety. He wishes he were more approachable, but doesn’t know how. I actually don’t find him to be obnoxious, but more like that stuck-in-the middle sibling, who is trying to find himself in (and a way out from) a brazen elder sister and a mature/moody younger sister sandwich.
Coming to Lee El, she is the most compelling to me, to be honest. She has a MAGNETIC screen presence that I don’t see in the other two. I think the only one who matches it, is Son Seok-Koo (interesting trivia, they’ve acted together in another series, although I don’t think they were paired in it). She is full of herself, judgmental (he is your best friend’s younger brother and a single father, you don’t want to get into this), doesn’t read the room well enough, which often lands her in trouble, keeps whinging about love and men, wants to look pretty (don’t we all?), and wants something to happen to her for once. Hidden under these antagonistic traits is a pure heart that does not want to intentionally hurt anyone or think ill of anyone, it just wants to beat. It’s the little things the writers have done right with her character that make for a fascinating watch.
I want to see how the other two siblings get on, more than I am interested in Mi-Jeong. Then there’s Mr. Gu, who warrants a whole post for himself <3

Since my “Missing MLN” hours are still ongoing, there is something that I realized now that a few days have passed since the finale- I was never nervous. It’s been around 4 years since I started my kdrama journey and I have come to realize that there are 3 types of endings in kdramas: one where the entire finale was not needed as it served as a filler episode; most kdramas follow this plot where the main couple could have avoided all the drama in ep 14/15 if they just talked to each other. The second is one where the entire story is ruined by the finale. It usually happens when the writer has a specific way that they wanted the story to end and they didn’t take into account the characters and their arcs (2521, I’m looking at you) and then there is a third one- this one is pretty rare and I have only seen a handful of dramas where I am satisfied with the ending since all the plotlines are tied up nicely since the characters and their arcs are kept in mind while writing the script. While some kdramas do overlap, most of them stick to just one category.
For me, MLN has become the drama that falls in the third category. Even while I was waiting for the finale to be released, I was more excited to know how the stories of these characters that came to mean so much to me would play out and I was not disappointed. While I do detest open endings, especially when it would have been much better for the story if they had provided a specific ending, I loved the openness of mln’s finale. For me, it said that there is no end to learning, to growing as a human being. All of us are here trying our best, so how can we tell someone how to live? That specific sentiment filled me with so much happiness. The drama did a brilliant job in telling me even if I feel that I have reached rock bottom, it’s alright as long as I hold on because I am not the only one who feels that way. The sense of companionship that mln provided, the way it told me “I am here and I see you” gave me a sense of comfort that I had been searching for.

That's too much to process

yeah, you can definitely tell it's the same writer. it's a familiar vibe. it's a familiar dynamic too: approximately, Chang Hee is Ki Hoon, Gi Jeong is Sang Hoon (okay, not the best parallel, but she is the oldest and… well idk i'm feeling smth there i can't put into words yet), Mi Jeong is Dong Hoon, and Mr. Gu is Ji An, the dark horse, the variable, the one who will shake things up. just like Dong Hoon, it's Mi Jeong who is the most obviously depressed and who finds herself in the biggest trouble, it's Mi Jeong who gets tangled up with a mysterious taciturn stranger (by choice, unlike Dong Hoon). well, it's always the quiet ones, isn't it 😋
i am not as intrigued by Our Blues yet, despite its brilliant cast and gorgeous scenery, but knowing that writer, it might grab me at some point to never let go. i do enjoy watching Cha Seung Won in a serious role, i always enjoy watching Lee Jung Eun, and i think the first episodes did a good job outlining the rest of the characters. re:Noh Hee Kyung though i have to say that to me, Dear My Friends remains for now the best thing she has written so far. It's Okay That's Love is my second favorite of hers. also, it just feels weird not to see Jo In Sung in her dramas 😂

2020 End of Year Post - kdrama edition
You can find my 2020 cdrama post here: dangermousie.tumblr.com/post/638449659546845184/2020-end-of-year-post-cdrama-edition
This is only going to cover kdramas that aired in 2020; if it originally aired another year, it’s not on this list.
It’s been a pretty lackluster kdrama year. There are probably only 5 kdramas I truly loved and only three of them I was really obsessed over. Better luck in 2021!
DRAMAS WATCHED
(In order of liking from least to most as opposed to pure quality; I am including if I’ve seen enough to make up my mind; yes I realize that’s inaccurate, but that’s my list)
42 Born Again - so bad, so incoherent, so insane, I have no idea why the leads signed up for it (and unlike some of the other watchers, I think it was awful from the very start.) There is literally nothing about this drama that makes sense.
41 Love with Flaws - a bunch of people who should be tried under the Geneva Convention.
40 Sweet Munchies - Jung Il Woo proves his inability to pick a functional script.
39 Meow the Secret Boy - if you ever wanted to bang a cat, this drama is for you. Not being a furry, however...
38 Do Do Sol Sol La Sol - I lost braincells just typing out this title.
37 When I Was the Most Beautiful - the only way it’s not the dumbest, most pointless melo of 2020 is because Born Again considerately came out the same year.
36 Woman of 9.9 Billion - if you want to watch an artsy French movie about miserable people, but only badly made, boy do I have a drama for you.
35 Lies after Lies - screams after screams.
34 Backstreet Rookie - people were up in arms about various problematic plots. I am a survivor of many plots much more problematic but even I couldn’t survive how utterly boring and annoying this drama was and how utterly irritating the leads were. This has taken Ji Chang Wook off my top favorites into “should I even check his latest Lovestruck in the City? Probably not” territory almost single-handedly (Melt Me helped, to be fair.)
33 Men Are Men - boring is boring.
32 Dinner Mate - two beautiful boring people eat out a lot.
31 Was It Love - no it wasn’t.
30 Alice - Joo Won in the shower can make up for a multitude of sins but not plot nonsense of such magnitude. When you find yourself thinking it would be better if he hooked up with the alternate universe version of his mother because at least then something entertaining would happen, you know it’s bad.
29 More than Friends - started out OK, then made me hate basically everyone and kept going.
28 Start-Up - honestly, it’s probably more decent than its place here, but the toxic and batshit fandom for it (the worst this year) made me feel like breaking out in hives any time it’s even mentioned.
27 The Spies who Loved Me - how to take a good cast and waste it.
26 Private Lives - it was good but it never took off with its concept and spent more time on the incoherent plot than the OTP which was its one strength. It’s a decent drama but coming after Heartless City and My Beautiful Bride from the same writer, it’s a disappointment.
25 Record of Youth - as high as it is due to Park Bo Gum hard carrying this entire awful drama on his shoulders and doing it so well I finished it. Alas, while he is in one drama (and that drama is great), the rest of the characters and the entirety of the script are a pointless useless mess.
24 Do You Like Brahms - excellent first third, mediocre middle, and terrible last third. I don’t know what musical term applies to this? Diminuendo, I think.
23 I’ll Go to You When the Weather is Nice - nice and mellow but nothing much happens.
22 Forest - mainly for Park Hae Jin’s excellent and frequently naked bod.
21 The Ballot - I didn’t love it as much as everyone did but it was well-made.
20 Hyena - more romance and less weird law stuff would make it better.
19 365 Repeat the Year - surprisingly solid.
18 The Game Towards Zero - see 365.
17 When My Love Blooms - very old fashioned, very lovely.
16 Chocolate - also very old fashioned and very lovely but also with Yoon Kye Sang performing medical procedures bleeding and shirtless. MMM.
15 (tie) Secret Royal Inspector - a fun if run of the mill sageuk.
15 Find Me In Your Memory - best melo this year.
14 Mystic Pop Up Bar - surprisingly good even though I wasn’t planning to check it out.
13 Where Your Eyes Linger - came out of nowhere but was tender and hopeful and lovely.
12 Itaewon Class - Park Seo Joon hard carries a drama that is already excellent. Love it.
11 Psychopath Diary - Yoon Shi Yoon is such a treat in a hilarious, cynical, dark comedy.
10 Kairos - more like ouroboros.
9 Queen Love and War - in a year where sageuks are very rare, this was solid and surprisingly moving and shippy.
8 The King Eternal Monarch - people didn’t like it but I did. It’s no masterpiece and both the leads and the writers have better dramas, but it was a lovely romantic fairy tale for me.
7 Mr. Queen - sharp, hilarious, and some of my favorite actors.
6 Psycho But It’s OK - healing, sharp cinematography and even sharper chemistry.
5 Crash Landing on You - the last ep pissed me off so much this drama is dead to me but I loved it so much until then I can’t place it lower in good conscience.
4 Train - who knew I would go this hard for an OCN drama or that OCN would do romance so well? But this time-travel mystery romance is just incredible and I shipped the OTP and rooted for the characters and loved every last bit of it.
3 Run On - this is the drama Record of Youth wanted to be but failed. Smart and lived in, you feel like you are peeking at real people, but also even four episodes in, I am so invested in the main characters separately and together, and care for them so much, it’s a little frightening.
1 (tie) Tale of the Nine Tailed - my perfect fantasy romance. I liked it better than Goblin, yeah I said it.
1 Flower of Evil - all the tropes I love in one incredible package. I would rewatch episodes waiting for new ones trying to puzzle the story and to stay withdrawal but it works just as well on rewatch. Lee Jun Ki brings his trademark tortured intensity and for once, both his leading lady and his script back him up and are worthy of that. It’s perfect.
FAVORITE DRAMA
It’s a tie between Tale of the Nine Tailed and Flower of Evil but if I had to pick just one, FoE, because it had me seriously obsessed and guessing about the protagonist and gave me the narrative tropes I love so much and an OTP that statisfied all my hurt/comfort kinks and then some.
WORST DRAMA
Born Again - honestly, this is so bonkers it almost becomes good but alas...
FAVORITE MALE CHARACTER
Do Hyun Soo/Baek Hee Sung, Flower of Evil - he is so messed up, so on edge, so traumatized. Yet capable of so much warmth and caring even as he himself doesn’t realize his humanity. FoE is basically a story of a man pushed and punished by the world for his entire life who, because of one woman, finds a safe place and peace and slowly comes to life without realizing it, and watching his desperation to keep this small bit of normalcy is so heartbreaking and exciting all at once. Plus, you start the drama thinking he’s a psychopathic serial killer and end it (if you are me) thinking he must be protected at all costs and if anyone even looks at him wrong they must suffer, and that’s quite a change!
FAVORITE FEMALE CHARACTER
Nam Ji Ah, Tale of the Nine Tailed - she is so funny and tough and smart and loving and amazing that I will totally buy that a literal demi-god will do anything and everything for her and love her for literal eternity.
NEEDS TO BE MURDERED
Dad in Record of Youth - yes in a year with serial killers and supernatural demons, I picked a normal character from a mediocre drama. It’s his everyday awfulness to his family that hits so hard and I am sad he never got his comeuppance.
FAVORITE SHIP
Ji Ah x Yeon - a fearless reporter and an immortal demi-god who’s been hoping for his human beloved to reincarnate. A really rare set-up where the OTP is equally ride or die, so compatible and completely BAMF. I got why he waited for her for that long and then fell in love with her all over again. Perfection.
Runner up: Flower of Evil - he is so messed up he literally does not believe he is capable of love or empathy, but he falls in love with her anyway and so utterly she permeates his entire life. She is tough as nails and only believes what she sees and is the sole person who believes in him against the world. She loves him but he needs her. She needs him but he loves her. They are amazing.
FAVORITE SECONDARY OTP
Seo Dan x Gu Seung Jun, Crash Landing on You, North Korean x Conman were so good I shipped them harder than the main OTP and the end of that storyline pissed me off so much I dumped the drama and didn’t finish it for months (and it’s still dead to me.)
NOTP
Record of Youth - it started out and they didn’t have much chemistry but the dialogues were interesting and I thought the chemistry would grow. It didn’t and deteriorated, their dialogues became boring and relationship had zero development (about as much as the supposed female lead.) I think we were supposed to feel bad they broke up and they were going for a bittersweet open ending, instead I found myself happy about the break up of two incompatible, chemistry-less people and hoping for the love of God they never get back together.
FAVORITE SCENE
Yeon and the bridge of knives, Tale of the Nine Tailed - Yeon choosing to undergo the creeptastic bridge of knives for a chance to save Ji Ah, who at that point he is not aware is the reincarnation of his Joseon love because, as he says, he doesn’t care if she is or isn’t, it just would be more horrible to have her die than to undergo the horrific torture he is undergoing, and then the sequence with his catching her, her weeping over him and the fact that she is the original Joseon girl revealed and all the bandaging and his watching her sleep and all that loveliness, is everything for yours truly.
Runner up: Hyun Soo having that break-down at the cliff at the end of ep 15 of Flower of Evil as Ji Won desperately tries to convince him she is alive and he finally stumbles to her.
Runner runner up (it’s my list, I will do what I want): Do Won preparing to blow his brains out to give a chance to Seo Kyung to live in Train.
BIGGEST CRUSH
Seon-Gyeom, Run On. Yeah, I know. Im Siwan is tiny, delicate featured and has a runner’s build, none of which are things that normally appeal to me. But his character is so odd, so honest, so unflinching in pursuing what he thinks is right, so incapable of self-pity despite plenty of reasons for it, and so ridiculously attractive when he smiles, I don’t even care.
BEST SCENE STEALER CHARACTER
Kim Bum, TotNT - I started out being annoyed by him and ended up looking forward to his scenes and being distraught by his ending.
NEEDS A SEQUEL
Honestly, none. I was fine with all the endings. I wouldn’t mind seeing post-end life of Tale of the Nine Tailed characters or the OTP settling into their literal new world in Train, but I am good.
TROPE THAT NEEDS TO DIE
Time jump that solves all the problems off screen or alternatively years pass and everyone is frozen - something that kdramas need to learn and need to learn badly. See Record of Youth, Brahms and Start Up.
FAVORITE TROPE WE’VE SEEN A LOT OF
Men who are ride or die for their OTP - this was a great year for this - the male leads of four of my five dramas were beyond anything on that scale (only exception is Run On because it’s still too early to tell there.) Yes PLEASE.
BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT
This was a banner year for that what with Start Up, Do You Like Brahms, Record of Youth, and Private Lives all starting out well and nosediving off the cliff but winner is Crash Landing on You. I loved it so much for bulk of its run but the last episode pissed me off so much I deleted all my files and called it a day.
BIGGEST GOOD SURPRISE
Flower of Evil - I had no expectations of this drama and wasn’t even planning on watching it despite liking both the lead actors because yet another “look at evil serial killer be evil” drama with no romance was not my thing. Luckily someone convinced me there might be some romance and I peeked curiously. Honestly, their promo campaign was the most misleading and dumbest thing ever.
Runner up Psycho but it’s OK - I have never liked Kim Soo Hyun in anything before and the drama premise seemed WTF but it was shockingly good and KSH totally blew me away.
Hardest Working Lead
Yoon Shi Yoon - he starred in two (!!!) dramas in 2020 playing three characters and not only were both these dramas awesome in a lackluster year, but if it wasn’t for the fact that I knew it was the same actor and the fact that the characters shared a face, I would have never believed that they were played by the same actor. So good!
2020 DRAMAS I HAVEN’T SEEN THAT I MOST WANT TO WATCH
None. Covid Year gave me PLENTY of time
BEST NON-2020 DRAMA I’VE WATCHED IN 2020
My Beautiful Bride and Deserving of the Name - I was obsessed with both of them and honestly, they were much better than the bulk of 2020 kdramas I watched.
MOST ANTICIPATED IN 2021
The Moon That Rises in the Day, Hong Chun Gi, Joseon Exorcist, Island,  Frightening Cohabitation, Snowdrop.

MY LIBERATION NOTES EP 14
(Spoiler alert)
Tumblr media
This is the saddest yet the most touching episode. We get to see how the Yeom family continues to do their normal routine despite of Mrs.Yeom's sudden demise. Change Hee and Ki Jeong argued over the dinner table and the urn suddenly moved leaving everyone speechless yet Mijeong bravely checked it and she was the most patient of them all.
Tumblr media
Mi Jeong's quiet personality was one of her greatest weapon. She was falsely accused for something she never did yet she was the only one who figured out who was the woman his boss is having an affair with. Even after knowing the truth she remained a good friend. The confrontation happened and she can no longer take it.
Mijeong is one relatable character because I am introvert myself.I don't talk unless being asked and I can relate to the fact when Mi jeong refused to hang out with friends instead she would go home after work.
Tumblr media
Then the look on Chang Hee and her dad's face when Mijeong revealed that she beat someone up. It was epic knowing that Mijeong never bothered other people. This is also very true in Asian families, when children reach a certain age where we would prefer keeping our problems or worries to ourselves instead of burdening our parents. Sometimes we would feel embarrased if our siblings find out instead we would share it to a trusted friend.
Tumblr media
The Yeom family have some serious matters to talk about and Chang Hee acted like a big brother and how he finally convinced his dad that they should buy a car. This was a very sweet episode.
Tumblr media
The moment that everyone is waiting for Mr. Gu finally met Mi Jeong. I thought this drama is gonna end and at the back of my head I told myself no I want to see them live happily together.
At first I was so hesitant to watch this drama yet I binged watch 6 episodes straight and I just can't wait for the next episodes to be released. The plot is well written and the cast delivered a top notch acting skills. It wasn't a typical kdrama and it was very realistic.
