"honey, c'mere to bed," he said when he saw you walking in, face tired and body exhausted. "i've got your favourite snacks," he continued as you plopped down beside him, a sigh escaping your lips. "thanks, love," you gave remus a chaste kiss before positioning yourself to get comfortable under the blanket with him. "relax yourself, dove, you've had enough of work today," he kissed the top of your head before pressing play on the screen.

"oh my god you did not!" you gasped when remus held out two tickets to watch 'the phantom of the opera'. "i know you wanted to watch a live performance lately so...." he said shyly as a wide smile appeared across your face. "it must cost a fortune!" you shook your head in disbelief, looking at him with love and admiration. "don't worry about that." he just loves making you happy.

“Hand me that plate, Shortstop.” 

Akk does, but not without making sure to splash Aye with the water running off of it. “We’ve been over this." They have, although it's been a while since Aye had first tried it in the tent. "That’s your name.” 

With a little yelp, Aye snatches the plate from his hand and sets to drying it with slightly more force than strictly necessary. The water drops stand out against the gray material of his t-shirt. “Why can’t we switch?” 

“Do you not have eyes?” Akk takes another bowl out of Aye’s mom’s sink and starts washing it with a little grin. “Grow a bit taller and we can talk.”

He expects Aye to fire back with a water attack of his own, or an insult, so when neither comes he turns to look at his boyfriend in faint surprise. Aye is giving the plate an undeservedly contemplative look, lips pursed. It’s very cute. Akk splashes him again. 

“Akk,” snaps Aye, his nose going all scrunched the way it does when he’s actually annoyed. 

“Aye,” Akk answers, grin reaching all the way up to his eyes. 

Aye stares for a long second, then softens all at once, mouth curving up in turn. He still elbows Akk in retribution before picking up his next dish, though. “So if I was taller than you, we could switch? I could be your Bigfoot.”

“If you were taller than me, I would’ve come up with a different nickname in the first place.”

“But I wouldn’t have,” Aye says decisively. “You’d have been Shortstop to me.”

Akk shoots him a sidelong look, dubious. “It's annoying, so yes, probably. In a hypothetical parallel universe where you’re taller. Why are you suddenly so obsessed with this? Don’t you call me enough things already?” 

“Do you not like it, darling?” asks Aye, all coy and playful, and it devolves from there. He doesn’t bring up the height thing again that day. 

But apparently he didn’t actually forget, because in the time following that initial conversation Aye starts taking every possible opportunity to be taller than Akk. 

It starts small, like Aye insisting Akk sit on the ground while he’s on the couch so he can reach his hair to dry it, calling him Shortstop in a tone of such overdone honeyed affection that all he can do is laugh. Or like Aye crawling into Akk’s lap so he has a height advantage when they kiss, and Akk making sure he doesn't get a chance to use any nickname at all.

Then it escalates, as things frequently do with them. Aye sits on top of the couch backrest at Akk’s house instead of on it, buys a pair of shoes with these ridiculous heel boosts, sits on Akk's desk while Akk writes his admission essays. At one point, very memorably, he gets on a table at a party they’d attended with Kan and refuses to come down until Akk has to drag him. 

Akk doesn’t mind as much as he’s pretending he does, which is something he’s found works for them with these things. It makes Aye happy to see him annoyed, so if he gets what he wants and the behavior isn’t actually that annoying, it’s a win for both of them. And it is funny, honestly, and frequently ends with Aye hanging off of him somehow. 

Still, though, after nearly two months of their summer together being intermittently marked by Aye’s new favorite running joke, something starts to nibble at the corner of Akk’s mind. It’s late summer now, and they’re running up closer to the thing they’ve barely managed to talk about: Aye’s impending departure, and his own entry into a northern university. And— well. He can’t manage that, but he might be able to manage this.

So the next time Aye makes a point of standing two stairs up in his own home to talk to Akk, he turns and looks up at him and asks, point-blank, “Does it bother you that I’m taller?” 

Aye blinks once, twice, then laughs a little. After a second, he seems to realize that Akk is honestly asking and tilts his head with an expression of mild bemusement. “No, baby. I like it, you give great hugs and have great legs. Why?”

Akk makes a sputtering noise and tries not to get derailed thinking about Aye’s feelings about his legs, which he did already know about for— various reasons. Instead, he pointedly jerks his chin at Aye, noticeably needing to tilt his head up to do so. 

“I'm just messing with you,” Aye says, reaching a hand out with a little smile. “I thought you knew.” 

“I do,” says Akk, and lets Aye take his hand and pull him one step up the stairs. It doesn’t equalize their heights; Aye’s still just a little taller like this. “But... it’s been going on a long time.”

“Yeah, I guess it has,” says Aye a little thoughtfully. “I just like seeing—” 

“—My angry face. I know.” 

Aye outright giggles at that, gently intertwining his fingers with Akk’s. “If you know, then why are you worrying about it?” 

Akk can feel his resolve failing already. He sighs. 

“I guess,” says Aye thoughtfully after a moment, “I do also like it when we… switch.” He wiggles his eyebrows and continues talking over Akk’s incoherent noise in response. “So it’s fun for me, to try and turn the little nickname thing on its head. Not that you’re cooperating.” 

“You wouldn’t like it if I cooperated,” Akk says, half-sure, and tries mostly unsuccessfully to glare up at Aye. 

“Oh, but I do,” Aye says, tugging him even closer by their twined hands and putting his other one on the back of Akk’s neck, pushing his head down enough to press a kiss to the top of it. “Just not right away. I like getting you to admit things."

There's an odd-- hesitation there, a long moment of silence. Akk looks back up, their faces close enough to kiss properly now, and sees Aye looking away from him, eyes big and preoccupied. 

“What?” Akk prompts, and when he doesn’t get an answer, adds, “Bigfoot?” 

Aye’s gaze snaps back to him, suddenly focused and intent and sparkling, and he grins. “Yeah,” he says, slowly like he’s savoring the confirmation, “That’s nice.” 

Akk leans up a little further and kisses that smile, gently and then less so when the fingers on the back of his neck tighten and pull him closer. He leans into it with a sigh and tries not to think about other things Aye might like him to admit, and instead thinks about how — it is nice, sometimes, to be the smaller one.

Oh for the newbies here can you explain to us what Our Sky 2 is, exactly? I can’t figure it out based on the trailer and my internet sleuthing but I feel super excited about Akk/Ayan possibilities? Is it like a small special episode?

BL mentor, I need your help!

So, Our Skyy is a BL anthology series from 2018. Each episode focuses on a BL couple from a previous series. The episode often serves as an epilogue or vignette to that couple.

Note: I don’t remember the order of episodes and this is entirely written based on my memory of the series.

The first series had…

OffGun as PickRome from their OG coupling (as a side dish) in Puppy Honey 1 & 2. In Puppy Honey they played the best friends of the main couple who ended up falling for each other as well. The first season had the kiss you could park a bus between which the second season had the steamy shower scene. Idk how Off went from 0 to 60 so fast but we all know he got there somehow. Anyway season 2 was much more focused on PickRome. The Our Skyy episode was set post Puppy Honey 2 and involved a mystical body swap. It was actually delightful and even back then Off and Gun were masters at acting.

TayNew as PeteKao from Kiss (as a secret side couple), Kiss Me Again (prequel to Kiss with PeteKao as one of a handful of couples but the series is trash and everyone just watches the official GMMTV PeteKao cut on youtube), and Dark Blue Kiss (sequel to Kiss focused entirely on PeteKao and directed by P’Aof). This episode was set somewhere in the timeline between Kiss Me Again and Dark Blue Kiss but no one has ever been able to agree exactly when. It doesn’t really matter though. The episode involves the pair going on a date/errand and being annoyed at each other or something and carrying around an orange tree idk I can’t remember it well.

DrakeFrank as MorkTee from My Tee aka ‘Cause You’re My Boy. I low key loved this series and it’s realism. It was about two boys in high school who were friends when they were in middle school but were separated for a few years just after their hormones started to kick in and they started to feel things for each other. When they reunite those feelings return quickly and stronger than before. My Tee suffered from a small budget, mismanagement of actors, and a confusing ending involving a mystery illness and study abroad. So their episode of Our Skyy was a very simple and sweet epilogue set in college that closed off the hanging threads and gave a nice ending to the couple.

PluemChimon as InSun, a side couple from My Dear Loser: Edge of 17. This was a really good high school series written by P’Aof. In begins as a member of a bully group and Sun begins as the openly gay new kid who befriends the nerd who is receiving the brunt of the bullying. In quickly leaves his bully buddies behind and becomes friends with Sun and eventually more. They end on a vague sort-of-dating note and nothing seems to have changed much by their Our Skyy episode set years later. But their episode had the privilege of being directed by P’Aof and it was a beautiful story that was really the highlight of the Our Skyy series.

SingtoKrist as KongpobArtihit from SOTUS 1 and 2. So, this really closed the book for SOTUS and SingtoKrist. SOTUS really was GMMTV’s first full BL series and it was a smash hit. It’s still considered a must watch series for any BL fan. So much about the world of BL in general can be linked back to SOTUS. Anyway, the episode is simple and mostly about Kongpob and Arthit dealing with a pending separation as Kongpob plans to study abroad. It’s a pretty decent send off to the series and couple.

So, there ya go. A basic summary of Our Skyy. As you probably noticed, many of these couples were side couples in het series. The original Our Skyy series was made from what BL couples were available at the time under GMMTV. Our Skyy 2 is much bigger with all the couples being from their very own very popular BL series. Two of the series haven’t even aired yet which is actually hilarious to me that they already have a plan in place for them.

Our Skyy 2 will have eight couples: EarthMix as PhuphaTian (A Tale of Thousand Stars), OhmNanon as PatPran (Bad Buddy), JoongDunk as KhabkluenDaonuea (Star and Sky: Star in My Mind), PondPhuwin as PalmNuengdiao (Never Let me Go), ForceBook as GunChay (A Boss and a Babe), JimmySea as PuenTalay (Vice Versa), FirstKhao as AkkAyan (The Eclipse), and GeminiFourth as TinGun (My School President)

At the rate GMMTV is pumping out BLs now, I wouldn’t be surprised if Our Skyy 3 is announced within the next two years.

“What the hell is that ?” 

“Think of it as a belated wedding present, my dear.” 

Every one of Freya’s instincts told her this was a trap. Or one of Gault’s schemes that would come back to bite them in the ass. 

Just a few minutes ago, she had been peacefully following her morning ritual of caf, holonet news, and checking the Blacklist when she heard her husband calling her name from the Mantis’s cargo bay. They were currently docked at the Imperial fleet for maintenance and she had thought it was strange when Gault had left earlier that morning, giving her only a vague answer when she asked where he was going. 

She should’ve known he was up to something – when was he ever not up to something? 

And that something was a small crate covered with a sheet in the middle of her cargo bay. 

“Aw, honey, you shouldn’t have.” Freya said flatly as she dragged her feet on her way down from the upper level. Gault met her at the last step and tried to tug her by the hand, but she refused to budge. “What is it?” 

Her riduur just gave her a toothy grin. “You don’t really get the whole ‘surprise’ thing, do you? It wouldn’t be much of a surprise if I just told you.” 

Before she could tell him just how much she hated surprises, they both heard a strange scratching noise coming from the crate and Freya spotted a shadow moving under the sheet. 

“It’s moving, Gault.” 

“Trust me, you’ll love it.” The Devaronian moved behind her and started pushing her towards her… present. 

The thing in the crate started moving faster as she approached, almost making it lurch in place. Freya reluctantly kneeled beside it. She grabbed the edge of the covering to get a peek so she could satisfy Gault and tell him to return whatever it was. 

A small snout immediately pressed against the bars of the cage, sniffing the air with excitement. It only took Freya a moment to realize what she was looking at. She threw the whole sheet off the crate. 

An Akk pup barked up at her, it’s stumpy tail a blur as it pawed at the bars of the cage. 

Freya’s face lit up in the biggest smile Gault had ever seen from his normally stoic partner. He couldn’t keep from smiling himself as she opened the cage, cooing at the puppy while holding it against her chest. The tiny Akk Dog sniffed at her face. It’s tongue lapped at her cheek, making the most feared bounty hunter in the galaxy giggle . 

Gault patted himself on the back for coming up with the perfect gift. 

“Oh, he’s beautiful.” Freya turned her attention back to her husband. “Wait, is it a girl or a boy?” 

“A boy. I had him shipped in from Anoat just for you. You like him?” 

“I love him.” Freya’s smile didn’t fade in the slightest as she sat down on the stairs, holding the pup in her lap. 

Gault leaned against the railing over her. “What’re you gonna call him?” 

She lifted her new best friend to look him in the eye. It’s tail continued wagging relentlessly. 

“He looks like a Scout, doesn’t he?”

My Top Acting Pairs of the 2022 So Far

Basing this purely on chemistry in their shows. This is an ordered list.

5. MileApo. These two look great next to each other. I can't think of a pairing that feels more natural in NC scenes than these two. My only qualm here is that I sometimes feel like their romantic chemistry isn't completely natural (though I feel this is mostly a failure of the script).

4. OffGun. These two just get better and better. While I feel their romantic chemistry was better as KhaiThird, their sexual chemistry was much stronger in Not Me. These two always give me this excited feeling. They're so good at playing oblivious or even star-crossed lovers.

3. OhmNanon. The best friend chemistry is strong with these two. As I've noted before, they feel really natural opposite each other. I think a big part of their chemistry, though, is that Nanon is just so fucking good as an actor and Ohm is so good at romance. It's no wonder these two feel so good together.

2. FirstKhaotung. It's been two episodes of The Eclipse and holy shit. Anyone who is familiar with me knows I love First and found Khaotung compelling in both TonhonChonlatee and A Tale of a Thousand Stars. These two have a really unexpected chemistry that, up to this point is difficult to define. If I had to try to put it into words, I'd say that First is a hell of an actor and he puts his soul into his characters. You can feel the fear, the excitement and denial radiating off of Akk whenever he's near Ayan. It's just so perfect. And who knew Khaotung could play a mischevious flirt so well? It's not Off Jumpol levels of fuckboy behaviour but it's good enough for the story thus far. I can not overstate how in utter shock I am that this story is pulling the chemistry out of these two so quickly and so well. I just can't wait to do a write up on the show almost entirely because of FirstKhao's chemistry.

Honorable Mention -

NeoLouis. Honey, Neo stays acting his ass off. He is just so incredibly talented and it shines through his chemistry with Louis. I'd even go as far as to say that most of the chemistry that exists between them is because of Neo. It's both my main issue and my main praise. I don't buy Louis as much, but I have hope that'll change as The Eclipse goes on.

1. ParkPark/Suamchan. Girl, these two came out of nowhere and went for the jugular. I've discussed it before but I still can't believe how much these two worked for me. Seoham was so good at being stupid in love and Jaechan just DID the damn thing with Sangwoo. The innocence Jaechan was able to portray was so incredibly well-done that I am still in disbelief that a rookie IDOL actor did this!

Even though no one will see this because tumblr still hates me and support is ignoring me, I am determined to keep going for my own sake.

And then he proceeded to OUTLINE Ayan’s physical appearance that he does not find appealing (yeah right 🤣)… again in front of Teacher Sani 🫡

That’s literally my favorite scene in the whole novel! I’m so mad they didn’t include it in the show. What do you mean Akk went up to a teacher and, with his whole chest, told her the new kid was breaking the rules by having a tattoo on his ass. Like honey. Do you want to explain to the class how you know that? Poor Sani. I don’t know how she was able to keep a straight face and take that conversation seriously. I would spend the whole appointment trying to figure out whether the two of them were sleeping together and at the end of it, I would decide that yes, they most definitely were.

Yes, I made notes on this, I have done it for quite a few different shows on my first watch but this completely boiled my brain so I need to type it out to make more sense of them. I also don't remember doing it so be prepared for an f-ton of nonsense

I watched this on YouTube so it's gonna be based on the four parts on there, with time stamps cause I need to order my thoughts

Part 1:

1:10 - Suppalo is a cult, I've watched literally on episode and I am utterly convinced of this already

Getting ready for our sky 2 I recently watched atos and claw and now have such a longing for moonlight chicken. And I watched the eclipse. I’m much happier and more impressed with this portion of the gmmtv bl ouvre. And ofc looking forward to seeing what Aof does this with series too. I guess to make this a question and not just rambling. What do you rank all the aired or airing our sky parent series? And how negative are the chances of seeing WatTine in an our sky 3 lmaooo

GMMTV has taken a leap forward in the last couple years, and I feel like Aof has been a big part of that not just in terms of the series he himself directs, but it seems like he's in charge of queer content as a whole for GMM now? It feels like they have an actual strategy instead of just falling into things now, and as a Virgo I enjoy a good strategy. I too am looking forward to Our Skyy 2 because I would LOVE for Our Skyy to become a regular thing for GMMTV (if they did a He's Coming to Me episode I'd plotz). I like anthologies, and I love leaving a space to continue stories that make sense to continue without the pressure of a second season, mini or movie. Special episodes are a great tool but they can be hard to produce as one-offs, so bundling a bunch of specials together is a pretty good production strategy. Close Friend did this with varying levels of success.

Anyway to come back to topic, and to your question, I had to go look back up all the Our Skyy source shows to remember who all was in 'em. There's shows where I didn't watch the original but watched the Our Skyy episode, and shows where I was decidedly meh on the original but liked the Our Skyy episode. And of course there's shows where I'm VIBRATING for the Our Skyy episode already. So my ranking is more like groupings, but I still have a top choice.
