Chinese sportswear pioneer Li-Ning proudly announces the reception of the Gold IDEA award in the Sports, Leisure & Recreation category for the DRAGONFLIGHT Marathon Racing Shoes, designed by Sun Jingyi.

DRAGONFLIGHT was designed for professional marathoners to enhance acceleration and speed. It forgoes the traditional streamlined silhouette design and presents a direct aesthetic of technology. The research-support design of the heel optimizes propulsion, while the midsole uses a recyclable bio-based material called BOOM – Li Ning’s signature midsole technology. It adopts supercritical fluid foaming process and performs perfectly in shock adsorption and rebound. This fiber is created through a fluid-foaming process that provides shock absorption and rebound. The embedded bird-shaped carbon plate provides propulsion support during movement. Compared with rubber, the outsole GCU’s wear resistance is five time greater.

Dragonflight's design eschews traditional streamlined silhouettes for a simple, straightforward aesthetic of the technology and functionality itself, a research-backed choice for optimizing propulsion. This model embodies that Li-Ning always strives to challenge, innovate, and create. In addition to all marathon athletes, Dragonflight also represents the brand's commitment to marathons. Welcoming the newest addition to my collection, a pair of Li-Ning hightops straight from China. And for those with the eagle eye, they're from the collaboration with Dwyane Wade.

While this collaboration of various designs is available stateside, this pair comes direct from China by way of my husband's father visiting from the country, as a gift.

I like them and they fit well. But the elephant in the room, they're white. After every wear, you'll need to lick them clean.
