guide to ad-free youtube for mobile via. youtube revanced
since youtube vance is no longer maintained and youtube is cracking down on adblockers here is how to download youtube revanced which has the best options for customising youtube features; including removing youtube shorts popups, sponsorship segments in videos, hiding unused buttons, bringing back dislikes, and more! [official revanced github]
this guide is for android only. sorry apple users idk how to help you. your device doesn't have to be rooted. even if it is, you should still be able to follow this guide. if you have youtube vanced installed, revanced shouldn't clash, so you don't have to uninstall it if you don't want to.
installation guide:
1. download all 3:
i. microg (this will let you log into your youtube account) [apk mirror] (scroll past description, download the latest one)
ii. revanced manager apk [github] (select the latest release, scroll to the bottom in assets, install the .apk file)
iii. latest youtube apk [apk mirror]
2. open revanced manager
3. select in this order: "patcher" -> "select an application" -> "storage" (note: if your phone asks you to let the app have storage access, say yes)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[id. two screenshots of the revanced manager app. there are red markings drawn overtop, indicating areas to select mentioned in step 3. the three spots are circled by a red square, an arrow pointing towards it, and a circle with a marked number to indicate the order at the end of each arrow. id end.]
4. select the youtube apk you downloaded
5. select patches. you can tap "recommended" or "default" or turn on/off patches you want
6. once you have selected, select: "done" -> "patch"
7. wait as it intialises youtube revanced. when it's done select "install" (note: if your phone gives you a warning that the app is blocked, select: "more details" -> "install anyway")
8. if this worked, you should have youtube revanced installed, and you can log in like normal. if this didn't work, read the next part.
(under the read more are troubleshooting solutions + other alternative apps)
issue a) if the botom right now says "open"
1. select: 3 dots on the top right -> "export apk"
2. save it
3. open whatever file browsing app you use (most phones should have a default one that comes pre-installed called something like "files" or "my files". if you don't have one, you can go to the play store and search "files" and pick one. if you aren't sure, i use "files by google")
4. find the exported file and install it (it will be called something like "youtube-revanced-versionnumber.apk")
5. if this worked, you should have youtube revanced installed, and you can log in like normal. if this didn't work, you can read the next part.
issue b) can't build or install youtube revanced with no option to export
1. something may have gone wrong with the file installation at some point, so try a clean start. to do this, uninstall:
i. revanced manager
ii. youtube revanced
iii. microg
iv. (optional) disable/uninstall the default youtube app
2. follow guide from step 1 again, hopefully it works. if it's still not working, you can try other alternatives. i've listed some in the next part of this post
alternatives:
libretube, newpipe, songtube, vuetube, astron, puretuber
i haven't used any of these personally, but i haven't seen any problems with them. let me know if there are and i'll remove it from the list.
you can also use youtube through your web browser with adblock add-ons. i'm not sure whether youtube has affected their mobile site though. with the firefox app you can use ublock origins (for ads) + youtube high definition (for general quality fixes)

It just makes so much sense that you were writing in 2013, you have the unhinged vibe that the golden fics from that era had.
I'm just here to compliment you really lol, mostly because I am giving a try to write a lil something for the first time and god I can only dream of ever being able to write as good as you. I've been writing poems and music for years now but i find writing actual coherent storys with characters and dialogue so so hard.
I was wondering if you have any tips, or like little rules you follow when you write.
all the love, xxx
🌷
I'M GONNA CRYYYY this was the sweetest thing in the world to wake up to wtf wtf <333 thank you SO much, i really appreciate this wahh my heart :'))) but also you are SILLY. don't compare yourself to others!! if we all did that constantly we'd never get anything written!! there are SO many authors i adore on here that will always have me chasing the "i wish i could write like that" feeling and it's a great motivator but alsooo at the end of the day. you gotta fall in love with your own words and characters and stories <33
and i feel that so much!! we are twinsss, i also started out writing poems and music and then realized i had stories i wanted to tell that wouldn't fit in shorter form, then discovered fanfic in middle school in the early '10s and it was all downhill from there LOL. truly such a golden era tho oh my god. growing up reading the hat fic and borderline illegible wattpad stories was certainly... formative!
yapping ahead vv (i don't have much advice bc i'm still just learning as i go but hopefully some stuff i picked up on can be a bit helpful!)
i have zero method to the madness when writing so it's a relief to know it doesn't come off that way LOL but i do have a few little things that i follow and i always look for them when beta–ing as well! they're pretty small technical things and they're generally up to personal preference, but some of them come from authors i admire and i think they can really take anyone's writing up a notch <3
i don't feel qualified to give advice because i'm just raw–dogging everything lmao i've never taken classes or anything, so take all this yapping with a grain of salt bc it's just what's worked for me!
– i try to use descriptors like "the man" or "the blond" or "his friend" etc sparingly. i wish i could remember the source, but i read a great piece about why it's better to just go with the character's name 99% of the time, and then i went through so many of my works to edit them and i felt so much more confident in my writing afterwards– it made a big difference in readability (imo).
ofc there are exceptions, like if the name of a character is unknown, or if there are too many names being thrown around in one sentence and a "the man" or "the soldier" etc just sits nicer. i definitely still use them occasionally! but it does sometimes put some distance between the reader and the story when those descriptors are used too often instead of names, so it's a good thing to keep an eye out for when it comes to flow. sometimes less or more or whateva ??
– sorta on the topic of less is more, i love challenging myself to show vs tell when i can! whether it's by keeping dialogue short and letting actions speak instead (can add to intimacy/realism– we communicate so much through body language yk), through metaphors (literally how my whole '#john egan is dog coded' fic was born LOL), or describing feelings rather than spelling them out (his heart ached vs he was sad, his pulse raced vs he was scared, you get the gist). you said you've been writing poems so i feel like stuff like that would already probably come easily to you tho! <3
– this guide on ao3 is great for smut writers! whether someone's a beginner or just looking for ways to elevate the filth, i found it really helpful, it's a fun read as well lol. it calls out stereotypes/cliches and teaches you how to reword them, gives lists of slang and reactionary words, do's and don't's, etc. i don't follow everything in it but that's the beauty of writing; we all have things that work for us and things that don't and that's so okay. :-)
– in the same way that artists use references to practice and find their style, you can do that with writing too! i know a lot of writers have a doc or note where they jot down stylistic things they find while reading that they'd like to emanate, or words they want to use, specific phrases, descriptors, etc. if i'm reading a fic and find an auditory descriptor i like, i might take note of it, stuff like that. sorta like a text document version of a pinterest board!
– thesaurus.com is my best friend truly. often going with the 'simplest' version of a word makes for smoothest reading so someone isn't taken out of the story being like wtf does that word mean lol but sometimes things can feel repetitive, or like there just needs to be a little bit more spice; i probs go back and forth btwn my doc and thesaurus a dozen times an hour tbh.
that's all i can think of rn and ik those are pretty basic so i'm sorry about that!! i really do just kinda write what evokes emotions in myself, and then i hit post and hope it translates over to whoever is reading too :') drawing from your own experiences if you can/really sitting with what the characters would be feeling in whatever scenario you're writing is probably the most powerful way to present what you see in your mind.
i have a hard time writing about emotions/things i haven't personally experienced, so i usually stray away from it out of fear of not getting across what i want to, but some people are great at winging it and putting themselves in unfamiliar shoes so!! it's again just personal preference really.
and alsooo be kind to yourself! i'm an anxious wreck every time i post any of my writing, i am very much not confident when posting new fics and i agonize over my docs so much and trash a lot of works, but i know at the end of the day i can't grow or learn if i don't get the words down, and i can't get feedback or gain confidence if i don't post. becoming your own hype man and giving yourself the opportunity to improve is essential <33
sooo much love and best of luck!!! lmk if you end up writing smth, i'd love to read it (◠‿◠✿)

Since you brought up the anime portrayal of the Goku vs Majin Vegeta: While Vegeta does get in more hits overall(mostly in the early portion of the fight), Goku just seems to tank the blows with little to no issue. Even when Vegeta had him pinned against the rock face with the ki cuffs and was beating the shit out of him, Goku just seems more pissed than injured (especially when he returns the favor by pummeling Vegeta with the makeshift rock-gauntlets). Otherwise, they were portrayed as even throughout the rest of their fight. And I don't know why Majin Vegeta fans would be so thrilled by it since Vegeta needing an artificial boost just to break even with Goku, who was essentially humoring Vegeta and specifically not trying to kill him - unlike the latter - is nothing to brag about.
I understand your point, but the reason I had issue with it is because Goku was supposed to try not to take damge from Vegeta so that Babidi couldn't use that damage to awaken Majin Buu.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Goku stated this wont be as easy as he thought it would be once he sensed Majin Vegeta's power, but the manga still portrayed them as evenly matched.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We know that Goku became a more skilled fighter than Vegeta after their first encounter and he doesn't rely as much on brute strength as Vegeta does. It's just illogical for Goku to let himself take that many hits. It's like Toei had decided to ignore that Goku needed to try not to get hit just so they could create some form of tension to make it look like Goku might lose. You know what would've made more sense? Goku at first dodging most of Vegeta's attacks while finding openings to deliver heavy hits while Vegeta tanks every those hits. Why? Because the Majin power makes the possessed person more durable than normal like it did for Spopovich.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THAT would've add reasonable & believable tension to make us wonder how long can Goku last against an apponent who he can barely damage. It would also expound upon the manga's foreshadowing of Majin Buu being able to brush off damage.
Majin Spopovich survived a deadly physical attack.
Majin Vegeta is shown to be even more durable due to Saiyans naturally being more durable than humans.
Majin Buu is nearly indestructible.
Tumblr media
Not saying the anime ruined that battle. Just that the tension wasn't there for me and my brother when we watched that battle. The anime has made improvements over the manga in some instances like Goku's hair flickering when he was transforming into SSJ for the first time while the manga events had less spectacle. The Goku vs Majin Vegeta fight just wasn't an improvement in my eyes.
REGARDING FANS OF VEGETA...
Believe it or not, there are plenty of Vegeta fans who love Majin Vegeta and like him beating up Goku. They don't care that he had to get a magic boost just to keep up. They just like him dominating Goku regardless of how. They see Majin Vegeta as "alpha" despite becoming a Majin being something Vegeta later deeply regretted because it got his family killed. Many Vegeta fans lack the logic you presented. They say...
Vegeta was abused by Freeza (mainly due to bad DUB) when he was just a soldier who wanted Freeza's position.
Vegeta wants to be king & cares about his ppl when he has stated and shown he doesn't care for others of his race.
Nappa was his friend despite Vegeta treatijg him like an attack dog that he gleefully killed once Nappa was of no more use.
Vegeta loved Bulma at the begining, but a love doesn't develop until years after the Cell Saga.
Bulma changed Vegeta when it was actually Future Trunks.
Goku gets handouts while Vegeta has to "work hard" when in reality Vegeta was brought back to life while evil, lived at CC free of cost, threatened Dr. Briefs to build him a gravity chamber he almost always trains in, saved by Trunks & Krillin after purposefully putting the world at stake, gets to keep his body after slaughtering hundred in the Buu Saga, is wished back to life due to Dende rewording the wish. Vegeta gets handouts more than most characters.
Most Vegeta fans don't understand the character and like lies about him so long as it paints him in a positive light and makes him look better than other characters. I like chatting with Vegeta fans who actually understand his character. But, sadly there aren't as many of those kinds of Vegeta fans in comparison to the others.

The Japanese Egg Memos are a lot closer to the English version than the cutscenes are (which vary a lot in general, not just with the Eggman/Sage stuff). Eggman still gets closer to Sage, and his line about Sage being a "chip off the old block" in Memo 18 is even more direct in Japanese, where he says "Like parent, like child" before hastily brushing the idea off. I'm not saying this to upset you, but you deserve to know instead of holding false hope that it wasn't present at all in Japanese.
Yeah I know, I've seen them but thanks for the consideration of giving me a heads up. I now know enough to be sure that I actually love Japanese Frontiers Eggman's characterization so no, I'm not upset. I'm very happy that it feels it was handled a lot better there. 🥰💜 I'll be taking this version that's still much more faithful to the lovable bastard in ways English came close to but had to flub with the worst dialogue that was very different to what we got in Japanese. So the latter is all I'll take into account for it now and nothing else thanks lol
It fixed most of my biggest issues in the memos and reworded parts that made it feel more right and understandable with how he thinks and acts. He's more lowkey with whether she feels more real than other creations and seems like it's more for how advanced she is, than English mentioning family blatantly. And of course he'd take pride in for how impressive it is to create, which they did try to portray. And he doesn't seem to praise her in ways that isn't always blatantly praising himself as creator in JP, much clearer than English.
And he just doesn't call himself her father or her his daughter in such sincere ways in actual cutscenes where I felt like it was the worst and most forced. I don't think him making a "like father like daughter" joke in a memo over having a similar sense of humor as creator and creation, one of the only blatant things in JP unlike how there's tons more in English, is coming off as quite as strong and forced. They specifically removed most mentions in English, even in the memos that were more faithful to the English version than cutscenes.
I think the adjustments and total removal of mentions at some parts are saying something and it feels more right. I'm relieved it seems the real game Eggman was considered much more. The vastly different context of my least favorite scenes and parts in Japanese changes a lot. Just feels like my beloved selfish bastard man praising himself to high heaven as usual and the attachment seems more in her being an especially impressive life-like creation, rather than implying sudden genuine softness and empathy and deep care beyond that.
I would prefer if the dynamic didn't exist at all because it's just not necessary but like I said earlier, I can accept it being done in more casual ways, as long as it's handled right. How it's done a lot more subtly in Archie and IDW for example was acceptable and even mildly likable at times because it was just funny and didn't take away from his evil or imply it comes from a place of genuine softness and care and feels more like "I'm technically like a father to them as my creations so I'll act like a proud one, look at the brilliant manifestations of my genius"
The Japanese version seems similar in subtlety, which doesn't take away from his evil or disregard his core character traits in the same way. English came off way too strong and overemphasized, especially in the last few scenes where it felt like he suddenly became Mr. Tinker. Apparently, in Japanese, he just calls her his greatest creation for her ability and his genius and it makes the "so emotional please cry" parts look more like disappointment to let such a great accomplishment go before it could be fully utilized in the way he intended.
While I would've still worded a couple things differently for that extra Eggman essence some parts still need, it's nowhere near as bad as English. I feel Japanese is more accurate to how far they can reasonably have a dynamic like that exist in any way and amount at all, without giving a middle finger to an important ever persistent aspect of his character at his core. So I'm satisfied enough, knowing that his actual attitude towards it and his ways of thinking about it feel much more like him. I just hope they keep it that way.

Why didn’t the backlash against “copaganda” happen so loudly when the Ferguson incident happened in 2014? And what about all the other scandals that happened before George Floyd?
I... don't know? I'm not a social analyst, I wasn't particularly involved in BLM, I can't tell you why Geoge Floyd has a bigger reaction than other deaths. All I can do, and is what I did, is observe that it did happen.
I did not try to say that this was the first death that mattered, that this was the first death that deserved an uproar.
To answer your question, since my theory is that George Floyd's death led to the change in copaganda perception, why didn't Ferguson? Because there weren't riots in response to it at nearly the level that Floyd's got. That is my theory.
I also got this ask, not sure if it's the same person:
I’m sorry but, by your logic about George Floyd single-handedly prompting a backlash against “copaganda”, R. Kelly should have started a backlash against r&b multiple times over
This is... a very weird corralary? Why are you bringing this up? Why is this at all relevant?
First of all. I know very little about R. Kelly or R&B. I am not going to pretend to in order to prove why this is or isn't a good metaphor. To me it seems very random, and I'm sure if I looked I could find a corollary that reflected exactly my logic just like you found an example that (I'm assuming) doesn't.
I really don't get how this is such difficult logic. Like maybe they have nothing to do with each other, but give me a legit alternative. But I'm failing to see why it doesn't make sense.
Let's talk logic, then. Which of these points do you disagree with or not follow?
A). OP's observationof a once niche idea: media with police as sympathetic characters =Copaganda
B.) OP's: point A became more commonly beleived after 2020
C.) After Geoge Floyd's death, there were BLM protests and riots in response
D.) C occurred in 2020
E.) these protests and riots were on a larger scale than previous ones
F.) The police responded to C with extreme measures, not new tactics but witnessed by many who had not been previously aware of these tactics
G.) E and F led to more Americans being aware of Black social issues, aware of the corruption of the police, aware of the extent to which Black people are targeted, the horrors of the prison system, and aware of alternatives to the current system
H.) Point G could have led to Point B
If you respond, please indicate the letter or letter that you fail to understand or follow. If you cannot, or attempt to get me to discuss something other than the logical expression above, than I don't want to hear it, as you would be a) pulling me into a conversation I don't have the energy, knowledge, desire, or place for; b) trying to make me look bad for some reason, and/or c) enagaging in various argumentative fallacies.
Also... do me one favor before having any conversation with me about this again. If I feel like you haven't attempted to honestly discuss in a mature and respectful way, I really don't want to continue.
Ask yourself these questions: am I trying to find a reason magicmoon65 is wrong, or am I honestly attempting to understand what she said? Do I think that magicmoon65's comment is actively harmful to others? Do I have an alternative explanation that I can share in a reasonable way, or do I simply think that she's wrong and need to prove it is so? Is continuing this argument worth my time and energy? Am I trying to change magicmoon65's mind or simply attempt to expose her or call her out in some way?
Here's the thing: I don't mind rewording things that may have been confusing. I know that sometimes my brain goes in a different direction than others. And I'm willing to try to better communicate because I think it's really important.
But these asks seem aggressive and accusatory, not looking to clarify. I've attempted to explain my logic. I suspect that you interpreted what I said to be speaking on how Floyd's death casued the riots. I can't really speak on why that happened. But it did. I'm not talking about why. I'm talking about the fact that it happened, and what that has to do with people's views on copaganda.

Brothers anon and ah, its just me than. Links on tumblr break half the time for me sorry bout that!
1: Mostly how it looks in the actual episode but with some changes. Its gaint, even has multiple floors, most rooms have a glass dome roof with iron railings (3-4) lining the bottom of the glass. The hallway typically have windows leading up to the roof, but the roof and both floor are a mix of materials like iron, copper, wood, and even gold. The most complex room is the Council room, which has a a higher roof than the rest, with mostly wood railings that go all the way up and lead to a circle at the top. The Council is the group that leads Mizu, they have 1 leader of every Idol to represent the different opinions of the citizens, with 1 special member that doesnt belong to any Idol, and is instead used to represent the opinions of people who either haven't chosen a idol yet, got kicked out of a idol following, and just to give a unbiased opinion most of the time. They do make most decisions, mostly those relating to topics like construction, farming, money distribution, where people can live, etc. And they also mostly agree on most subjects and don't agure, but they do have massive disagreements on topics and problems like Representation in other Cities/Kingdoms, trading, visitors and immigrants, and sometimes supply missions.
3: Situations like taking care of his siblings (I have decided Benjamin shall have siblings) and friends, and he was also put under extreme stress as a kid in school and family life, but unlike Ranbob, he managed to successfully communicate his struggle and find coping mechanisms. Also when he went off to live by himself for a bit, he was under sudden extreme situations where he had to make split second decision. So he just learned from everything thats happened to him over time.
8: Levi exists purely to make Watson and others go insane. People claimed it was made up because they claimed most events as unrealistic (like Doomsday, Techno escaping a death trial, Pandoras Vault (they believed it impossible for something to be inescapable)). Plus the fact it seemed cruel such young people where faced with such trauma that no sane person would let it happen, and the fact most historical important items couldn't be found, people claiming that they where made up (also cause if the land was that exposed to such devastation, it would've collapsed on itself). No to both of those, by this point their to far away from Dream for him to have a direct meaningful affect on the group, and while the residents of Kelalen know it was Dreams sword, the group does not know. Nope! Mizu came about years after Kelalen was forgotten about and shamed. And Mizu was only made because of the growing number of believers in the SMP history was causing disruptions in both the political sense and educational sense, so it was made to separate the "outcasts". Though Mizu eventually grew as big as most cities, and greatly civilized and advanced, though they where still often "forgotten" about and basically seperate from the Kingdom that set them up and became their own place (though not officially).
They do have a friendship! Its not super close but their definitely friends. Ranbob is definitely a worrier, he heard that two of his friends almost died he immediately goes to them and fuses over them. And when their recovering he doesnt leave their side, infact Benjamin has to drag him away from the two just to get him to eat. And he refuses to sleep unless he's like directly on top of them. Yeah, Cletus challenges Grievous to a parkour challenge over a Delta Basalt, and he happily accepts. They end up giving everyone a heart attack after Cletus slips and almost falls onto a magma block. Jackie plays in soul sand and dumps a handful down Rans shirt, Watson teaches Charles and Isaac how to make gold from gold nuggets and more Piglin culture. When Cletus is cleared to be ok and Jackie stops getting soul sand in areas he didn't even know existed. They all sit in a circle and decide what they should try first, with Ran and Watson watching carefully and preventing them from drinking anything that they recognized as harmful. But other than that they just let the others do whatever.
10: Because he couldn't use it, when Dream was a full human he used to be able to access his powers at his own will. But after his spirit got linked to his mask his power greatly reduced. To the point he relies on others for his powers, more specifically, he needs them to be exposed to him for a certain amount of time (like 2 weeks) until he can use their own essence/spirit to help his powers. When the group of people came after Ranbob left, they stayed for a long time, especially after they took the mask with them. Dream got the power back. Cause it is a "I worked to hard to give this up." Type situation. Ranbob was his first victim and the first person he had control over in decades, he considers Ranbob the puppet he was meant to have and refuses to let him go. Everyone is the nat to him, but specifically Ran. Cause Ran was the only person who survived the murders, so Dream sees him as a kill that was taken from him that he needs to fix. Everyone else to him is nothing more than an annoyance, and he's more than happy to use them as nothing more than a stepping stone to kill once he's done with them.
13: Ran is stronger than everyone else, Jackie is faster than everyone else, and Watson is more acrobatic than everyone else. Sorry can you reword "Is Jackie considered stronger than them aside from shared tactics, or is it the other way around?"? I dont completely understand sorry. Kind of, I'll say. There can only be 3 ranking members, but it can also be 2 Corporals and 1 Sergeant.
14: They where caught off guard, but also knew something must be going on due to the fishermen staying closer to Ranbob than normal. He never got too far, as he isnt very fast and Charles and both Isaac tend to be fast enough to get him. If the episode is really bad bringing him back can lead into physical fights but it rarely gets into that, as it seems like Ranbob really doesn't want to fight them most of the time, and holds himself back.
Well, I hope it’s working for you now, cause that sounds less than ideal, honestly.
1: Well, Mizu sounds gorgeous, quite frankly. As for the council having a member of no idol, what about that? People can get kicked out from an idol group? Why? Do some just never choose an idol? Also, how’s the housing situation there? Are there like, apartments on one of the floors, or something? Why does the council not really agree on outside affairs?
3: Not gonna lie, I’m rather curious. What kind of life did Benjamin lead to be under such heavy stress? Does he relate to Ranbob because of this? And what was he doing when he lived on his own to need to make fast-paced decisions? Also, siblings! What’re his siblings like?
8: He sounds like it.
And hm. There are several things I’ve taken from this.
Do totems no longer exist, if they don’t believe Techno could have survived, or did that particular piece of the story just get left out over time?
Has Pandora’s vault fallen? And why would people find it unbelievable? If it’s the future, shouldn’t they have even more advanced technology than that? Or is it simply the lack of evidence that leads them to disagreeing about it’s existence?
They don’t believe people would have been so cruel to the younger ones? Oof, um. Well, at least that says something about the future, I guess.
Mizu sounds like it has an interesting history in it’s self. How do Ran and Ranbob feel about being in a world that basically shunned the people of what would eventually become their home? Do they ever have issues when people find out they originate from Mizu, or worship an idol? From how you put it, it seems like that wasn’t really looked upon well, since they shunted the people who did it to Mizu.
Friendships for the win! Maybe not close, but it sounds like an interesting dynamic. Charles honestly seems pretty mild, and as you said, shy, so putting him with Mr.Random And Chaotic certainly sounds like something. How did these two become friends?
And honestly, it sounds like everyone had a lot of unique experiences in the Nether. It also sounds like Ran and Ranbob were probably an inch from a heart-attack the entire time, considering the shenanigans ongoing. It sounds kind of cute that Ranbob was only sleeping when he was close to them though, and it gives me the image of a giant fluffy cat, so win-win there.
10: Interesting. Was Ranbob not enough to fully return that power to him when the Fishermen first came and took him? Or did Dream just not think they’d get that far and not react in time, when he still had that power from his puppet?
And, uh, wow. Dream was certainly off his rocker before, but that’s definitely cemented now. Is anyone aware he thinks of Ranbob in such a way? Does Ranbob know? How are everyone’s feelings on that-besides y’know, ‘gonna murder Mr.Mask Man’. How does everyone feel about being considered as ‘nats’?
13: Huh. And yeah, I confused myself rereading that. Basically, is Jackie considered stronger than those two? You said they were mostly on par, because of the shared tactics, so when it comes to cutting those shared tactics out of the picture, does Jackie come out on top?
14: So the gang could tell? If I may ask, what were the tells that gave Ranbob away?

A month had gone by since Lucy and Lily's dad walked out on them leaving the two girls to fend for themselves. Lucy managed to keep things going so far by continuing to steal necessities and forging her father's signature and income information on a form that would allow the elementary school to give Lily a backpack of food every week. She managed two weeks washing the few clothes they had by hand in the grime covered bathtub with cheap dish soap until the water was shut off. After that the teenager had to get creative.  She threatened classmates for change just to be able to go to the carwash in town late at night when no one was around and use the hose. Swiping a can of dry shampoo and filling an old water jug with the same hose water from the car wash was enough to give Lily a cold bath every few days. Things weren't easy, and Lucy was exhausted from trying to maintain her own school work, raising Lily and keeping face so no one would suspect anything. As the days drew on she was becoming more and more weary from the stress and lack of sleep.
Meanwhile Chris had tried his hardest to get Lily to open up to him about home. Where she lived, her father's name. Either Lily really didn't know or she was incredibly good at pretending, and if she was anything like her big sister Chris would say it was the latter.
Lily perked up when she saw Chris waiting for her at their usual lunch table. She plopped down in her seat and tossed her lunch box on the table, opening it.
"I got a peanut butter sandwich today!" The kindergartner exclaimed excitedly as she unwrapped the sandwich from tin foil
"Peanut butter is my favorite" Chris smiled as he passed her his fruit cup and chocolate milk from his lunch tray
Ever since Chris had found out that Lily had barely any food and the schools hands were tied since her father refused to fill out a free lunch form, he had been sharing his lunch with her. He could at least go home and have a decent meal at the end of the day.
"You must really like peanut butter too" Chris commented on the daily sandwich, hoping to draw out some information from the girl
"Not really but it's all I got right now."
"What do you mean?" He tilted his head
"It's just the only thing my sis-" Lily paused to reword her answer, "I mean peanut butter is easy and doesn't have to be cooked."
Chris raised his brows but didn't say anything. The two spent the rest of lunch talking about the book Lily's teacher read to the class that morning.
"Aw man, lunch is over." Lily crossed her arms with a pout as the bell rang and her classmates lined up
"Sorry kiddo." Chris felt equally as disappointed because he was hoping to get more information. He'd hoped that Erin was having better luck with Lucy.
As it turned out Erin wasn't having any luck at all. She sat at her desk, staring at a nodding off teenager who sat in the white saucer chair. Lucy had fallen asleep in history class and didn't care for being woken up by the teacher.
"Lucy?"
"What?" Lucy mumbled
"Honey, did you not get a lot of sleep last night?"
"I don't get a lot of sleep most nights."
"Why not?"
"Somebody's gotta watch for the big bad wolf."
Erin narrowed her eyes as Lucy laid her head back and dozed off. She made the decision to let Lucy stay through the next period to get an hour's rest before waking her again. Lucy woke in a less grumpy mood, but still wasn't open to being friendly with the officer.
"You want to tell me about that wolf?"
"No."
"Come on, Lucy. Give me something here." Erin pleaded
"Why? So you can ruin my life? Have everything taken from me? Nice try. Thanks for the nap."
Lucy snatched up her bookbag and left the office. Erin sighed before sending a text to Chris.
That afternoon Chris ducked out of the building early and rushed home to change out the patrol car for his red pickup truck. He made it back to the school just in time for the line of buses to file out of the back parking lot and make their way to their routes. He spotted Lily's bus and followed it down the highway.  Six stops in he finally saw Lily emerge and make her way down an overgrown and unkempt path away from the road. He moved on with the bus but turned around a short mile later to head back. He turned onto the gravel path and drove down until he reached a cattle gate overgrown with vines. He got out of his truck and climbed the gate, walking until he found the house. He saw Lily go inside and he frowned at the condition. Unsurprised but still greatly disturbed by the sight he knew the place wasn't liveable. At least he knew where they were now. He returned to his truck and made his way back home, having a few phone calls to make.
"You've got to be fucking kidding me!" Lucy punched the wall with frustration as Lily pouted behind her
"Why aren't the lights coming on? It's getting dark!" Lily whined
"I dunno, kid."
Lucy did know. She saw the disconnect notice three days ago.
"Let's pretend we're camping okay?" Lucy suggested as she grabbed a can of pork and  beans from the sparse cabinet
"I don't want beans again." Lily complained
"Neither do I." Lucy grumbled as she opened the can and grabbed two spoons
"They're cold" Lily said as she took a bite
"Yep. Eat."
Lucy tried to remain patient with her little sister.  The girl didn't understand power bills and money. It wasn't her fault they were having to struggle. Lucy just ruffled her hair and sat on the floor next to her.
"How long do we have to be pretend camping?"
"I dunno."
"Can you tell me a story?"
"Sure."
Lucy swallowed a spoonful of the cold beans and began telling Lily a story about two kids camping in the woods. Halfway through she stopped and tensed, the sound of crunching gravel under tires alerting her senses. She stood and walked to the front window, peering out through a torn curtain.
"Shit."
Two police cars and a red sedan were parked in front of the house.  Panic rose in Lucy's chest and her heart pounded.
"What's wrong?"
"Uh...nothing. New game. Hide and seek."
Lucy grabbed Lily and rushed to the back bedroom, closing the door before shoving them both inside the closet.
"What are we hiding from?"
"The bad guys. Stay quiet."
Lucy was shaking as she heard a heavy knock on the door.
"Robbers?"
"No. Hush."
Lucy held Lily close as tears formed in her eyes. The front door opened, the lock having been broken for as long as she could remember, and footsteps could be heard.
"Hello?" A female voice called out "Is anyone home?"
"Shh" Lucy whispered to her sister
"Lucy? Lily?"
"Chris!" Lily exclaimed as she jumped up and ran out of the hiding spot
"Lily, no!"
Lucy bolted after the child, pausing to grab a gun out of a dresser drawer. She ran down the hallway in time to sweep Lily into her arms and come face to face with Chris, Erin and an unknown woman. Another police officer entered through the back door and stood behind the girls. Lucy's eyes went wide with fear as she stood there, having been found out, and she raised the gun, pointing it at Chris.
