I feel like it’s that joy for life and experiencing things that Krolock has seen fade in each and every other vampire, including himself, and it hurts each time to see people damned to just dragging themselves through year after year and at some point you stop really noticing the changes and it all gets monotonous. If it wasn’t for Herbert Krolock probably would have become the same way, just as miserable with his existence as all the vampires in the graveyard.

#tanz der vampire #idk #it’s the joy of life that Herbert has and probably Sarah would too #they wanted to be vampires #Sarah wants to just experience everything #even Alfred would probably find that spark in seeing human knowledge expand and change #Herbert likes existing #also is loving fashion changes #2 am rambles #seeing Herbert have a time with life even when he’s bored is what helps Krolock not completely give up #maybe the next person will be different maybe they will be able to enjoy life longer #like it’s not an immediate shift but a gradual one some last longer than others but ultimately that light always goes out #why some Krolocks are a little reluctant or have such a different attitude with Sarah at the end because she’s mostly likely going to end up #like the others and what’s the point in caring because of it #and sure some are just having fun but it’s the realization that he’s got to see this change and light go out AGAIN #rip if this isn’t coherent #sure sure sure he’s just calling her a wonder because it sounds good to her #but what if it’s because she has the spark AND WANTS to be a vampire #let Sarah be Krolock’s antidepressant
