Tfw you saw this and went "oh silly Lestat with his silly god complex lol"
But then your mind gave your war flashbacks to:

And you remembered this tiny detail from their bedroom:

Then you realized who came when Louis confessed and asked for God's help :

And it's not funny anymore 🥲

think u shld be secure in ur respective endgames most of u are fighting the spirit of silence when it comes to loumand instead of letting it move within u how can u be busy shouting "it's a gothic romance" when it comes to every r/ship when someone's mildly critical of them but the minute its loumand the "it's a gothic romance" disappears bcs is it the element of whiteness that makes things gothic?!

why must every leslou scene be willfully misread bc the audience craves this false idea of parity in their relationship that the very narrative deconstructs. sublime problematic yaoi ruined !!!!

for @iwtvfanevents rewind the tape question of the week: would louis have gotten w. lestat if paul hadn't killed himself?
first of all, louis himself considers this an essential turning point in their relationship as later in ep6 he reveals that he's harbored suspicions that lestat was involved in paul's death somehow, which more or less implies he thinks it was key to lestat's plans. also at this point the audience is still left wondering if lestat's answer is even true since he continues to lie throughout the show.
Tumblr media
i think louis himself probably believes that this relationship may not have happened without paul's death, which is why the suspicion consistently nags at him for 30 years. i don't think lestat would've given up easily and would've continued to stalk, harass and mentally bombard louis to the point where louis would've ended up at the church in a similar despondent state sooner or later. literally this man sent gifts and stalked louis for 6 years in the 1930's so he would've been in it for the long haul. and at some point, louid would've been worn down just like he was later. there's plenty of tension in louis's life beyond paul that lestat could've preyed up on as well. paul's death just meant that moment came sooner rather than later.
Tumblr media
on the other hand, i do think louis's relationship with his family would be different with paul being alive since his relationship with paul is the most essential connection he has and it would've been much harder for lestat to pry him away from it. there's no way louis even as a vampire would've abandoned paul since he's the one person who wants to take care of him and doesn't consider him a burden. it would've been very very tough though and i think the leslou relationship deteriorates even faster with paul in the picture.

sexiest thing to ever happen on my television screen. loustat revolutionized my expectations for television like you think I'm joking but i'm genuinely not. everyone that isn't going as hard as them is so disappointing to me now. everything I see coming out now that's either all white or all straight or no harrowing violence I'm like grow up. like genuinely this show cracked me open, Louis in particular. hes a character of color with every inch the violence and sexuality and complexity not just of the genre but of like genuinely just really good. really good television. and genuinely just seeing that character made me so mad at every other show on planet earth bc it showed me what we could be having. and ive never seen it on THAT level before in American mainstream media and everyone is such a fucking coward that isnt doing that. idk it's just so like insane to me like yeah I care about the characters obviously I'm insane about the characters. but Jesus fuck dude like. I genuinely have lost so much respect for eeeeveryone else who isn't doing this bc rolin really said cant write a character like Louis? skill issue. and it fucking is. there's no bellyaching theres no performative bullshit its JUST a good character the kind of character we ALWAYS could have had and can have going forward. I am so fucking sick of white people and the fascination with them when such fantastic depth can be aded with race and you know what thats another thing. is that a lot of the convo about representation in media is SSOOOO FUCKING STUPID like stupid to the point of being cringe like it's just so so so so stupid and Louis rockets right past any of that. the story is intrinsically tied to his blackness but the story isnt like fucking booktok chicana new adult bull shit number 1,225 boohoo mangoes two dimensional self exploitative prostitutional BULL. SHIT. race IS the story but not the way that Race Is The Story of every person fetishizing their own pain. white people don't even look at this post btw. die also. sorry I forgot what I was saying. oh yeah loustat. yeah idc the other one. Louis specifically. his sexuality and race changed how I watch tv and set the bar infinitely higher and made me realize that I CAN have it all. I can fucking have it all on my screen whenever I want; not just I should, I CAN. and FUCK supernatural.

idk why these fans acting like saying lestat is stupid, abusive, and patriarchal is a bad thing. i actually love that in louis' men
louis is this most beautiful school darling who always dates the most obnoxious men. it's exciting to watch his love life

i loathe the french. i hate the twinkification gncfication motherification wifecation of vile MEN who care clearly written as tenets of patriarchy only because they are white/ have white-passing features like silver/blond hair and blue eyes and their partners are visibly poc and you fuckelheaded white demons have chosen the position of bottoming as the one which receives love and care thus you cannot fathom any poc being put into said position!!!
you all literally will overlook all overt and covert details of character writing and refuse to engage with shows/books in a non-superficial manner simply to justify your rancid takes only to sound like this : how bottom if dark skin🤔 how not daddy dom bbc🤨🤯how not top if not pale curdled milk 😯

38. If you read fanfiction, do you have any favorites?
I have a lot of favs and this is a very incomplete list:
Louis visits an elderly Benjamin, like if any fic would to be like filmed and added to the show this is the one I could most easily see doing it. Just mind blowing in terms of characterization and dialogue especially for a character we never see speak; made me tear up.
I almost don't wanna say anything about this one just know it's incredible in ways you won't even expect. Danlou noir propaganda is so strong actually.
How does one even describe House? Literally how does one even begin to talk about it. Choose your own path through it. Get haunted. You just gotta go in.
Pretty much THE modern Leslou au. Like. Transferring the dynamic so flawlessly and also SUCH good Claudia stuff as well.
Just gorgeous. The whole series is. Also love the way the prose itself engages with/ departs from pronoun usage in some areas: also made me tear up a bit.
You ever read something so good it kinda makes you mad. Like something that seems just like almost insulting geared to you? Yeah this is mine.
Gonna be blunt here not only is this really really incredibly written but it's super hot. Like. Chapter 2 oh my god it's not even finished yet.
Rounding this off with a must-read Claudia piece. Like goddamn.
and there are many others I haven't listed in my others fic tag!

sorry for this question. Directors cut for hold me tight and fear me not
i expected this but not from you goat......
i'm obsessed w fairy tales and i've always liked tam lin bc anaïs mitchell has an album of traditional english/scottish ballads that it's on that i think i first listened to in high school.... in folklore studies it's a variant of ATU 425 which includes beauty & the beast and cupid & psyche so like a girl is forced into some kind of contract that seems untenable but she discovers that the monstrous bridegroom is under an enchantment she has to break... for obvious reasons i heavily associate this w leslou..romance of idealized recognition on one part and chronic stand by your man syndrome on the other; lestat has this line in tvl
Tumblr media
and louis's favorite movie in totbt being the cocteau beauty and the beast. it's a fantasy that appeals to both of them but also like most fairy tales has sinister patriarchal implications like the true love requires a massive suspension of belief after an inciting incident that's just terrible (demanding virginity as recompense). the tam lin variant in particular has this chivalric backdrop that i find fun. vampire stories translate well to fairy stories, because you can have characters who are just totally displaced from time--so i had louis's world as a kind of vague amorphous setting but still familiar, but lestat is in feudal wolfkiller stasis. much like he was as a human even before he became a vampire because he's so provincial! rat catcher!
i wanted to experiment more with aus bc everything i write in canon is upsetting. not that this wasnt upsetting bc i still start off w paul being dead but you know. i had fun describing the woods. BELIEVE IT OR NOT i wasn't really thinking about the baby of it all. i was probably craving rhubarb and reading angela carter. i think the first line i had was "He laid down his cloak—he was a gentleman."
and then i actually can't say the rest bc it's spoilers but it has to do with gabrielle 😄 OH and i knew i wanted changeling armand
