@mamadore submitted: pretty moth (i think it's a leopard moth, but i'm not sure) it was seen in [removed] (please remove location)
It does indeed look like one of the leopard moths in the genus Hypercompe. I think probably Hypercompe suffusa :)

A commission for @stynamo of a hybrid design of the beautiful Purple Ivory Millipede and Giant Leopard Moth! Absolutely a challenge and worth every moment, as the patterns and colors of the two animals harmonize so well. Genuinely had so much fun working on this one.
Thank you so much for the commission!
Interesting in something like this? commissions available on Ko-fi: https://ko-fi.com/cuttledreams/commissions

cruelcaracha and glimago
cruelcaracha
based on la cucaracha (cockroach in spanish), and yes the missing leg is a reference to the song. cruelcaracha is now an adult winged cockroach in the role of a corrupt businessman or mobster type villain, even hiding its blade like limbs under its wings in order to backstab its enemies
glimago
glimago is a Hypercompe scribonia, also known as the giant leopard moth, a very large moth easily recognized by its white coloration with black and blue dots around the body, while it mainly lives in northern area it does indeed reach Mexico.

GIANT LEOPARD MOTH
Found on the steps at my work place. Looks like she passed away after she laid her eggs.
A beauty.

Newly eclosed Giant Leopard Moth I found sitting on a cardboard box at work. The bold black and white pattern and blue iridescence are just stunning.

my leopard moth (her name is Sectonia) has a new friend (a newly-hatched spider who I never noticed when bringing her container inside from the cold)
also Sectonia had a panic attack last night she can’t fly due to a wing being damaged and she doesn’t really use her legs so she just glided around by using her wings along the bottom of the container last night

We’ve been watching this leopard moth from the moment it crawled up our statue as a giant wooly caterpillar. A month later, it has transformed into a lovely creature.
