I’ll be brief abt kwon hoshi of seventeen fame (1/8297292)

no actually tho im not the greatest at articulating it but he is floating and it looks that way bc not everyone possess the musicality and the pure strength and control over their bodies to be able to make a performance look that seamless. the best mundane thing I can think to compare it to is maybe a cartoon or an animation where u know the illustrator has manipulated the character’s limbs to behave a certain way but he’s a real life living human that can do these, things w his body that do not look as though they’ve been executed by some guy in his 20s. like when I say u have to have the strength down in the tips of ur fingers and toes to be able to utilize ur tool (which in dancing and performance is ur body) in the way he does? LIKE HE’S AHHHHHHH

it’s also bc he finishes his lines. you would think that’s simple but a lot of kpop bg dancers dance in a very,,,,compact manner??? you can make yourself look taller and your movements more graceful if u stop trying to dance in a 4x4 box around ur chest so ur forearm veins stick out beloveds i promise,,,

AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF HIS EXPRESSIONS ARE UNMATCHED!!!!! sometimes I watch a kpop choreo or just any commercial hiphop piece in general and find myself watching footwork bc I’m so bored by what the dancer is doing from the shoulders up but that’s never the case w soonyoung. he’s taking u on an artistic journey in every facet of his performance where half the time I forgot to even focus on the actual accentuations of the choreo until I watch it the third time and manage to stop averting my gaze from him staring down the camera djdjdjdjd to an extent, expression can’t be taught, and people who have that aspect of their performance down the best are genuinely in the moment and are genuinely enjoying what they’re doing. of course watch his studio chooms but just watch him in world stages. he’s grinning like an idiot half the time, teasing the other members, having the time of his LIFE!!!! that’s a performer, not who can bite their lip at me the mostndndndn

AND PEOPLE DONT TAKE HIM SERIOUSLY BECAUSE?????????? i don’t know i guess bc he’s so silly and fun in variety content?? but he’s first and foremost a performer and a LEADER!!!! of seventeen so ppl are just sjdjdjdn annoying. of course that aspect of his idol persona and him in general is likely very dear to him or else he wouldn’t do it (also I think he’s extremely genuine like he’s just a giant introverted lil nerd <3) but that doesn’t mean he’s not also a respected senior in the industry. he’s literally those posts that are like “only I can make fun of my sibling/friend/etc bc I get them anyone else fuck off” like E Y E can tease him bc I UNDERSTAND HIM etc etc (im joking but also im not)

tldr he’s one of and will remain one of the industry’s best for as long as he wants to keep sharing his meticulously prepared and passion driven projects w us and if u place literally any fourth gen bg dancer in the general vicinity of him in a ranking im gluing legos to the soles of ur shoes <333

just got out of dancing classes, it's was saur fun!! I dread those squats/sit-ups that we do at the start but doing them with kpop music makes it easier--

hearing bouncing and rocking is going to activate my flight or fight mode istg,, we're learning (slowly) some hiphop basics, AND DON'T GET ME WRONG, I love them, but tell me why (ain't nothing but a heart ache) I look like a lego trying to dance istg I was singing everything is awesome as I did the rocking steps hehe,,

we started working on our final choreography (pretty u by seventeen) we learned without fixed positions the pre-chorus + most part of the chorus,, boy I love this song and its dance
