Remember that Wuxia magical movie with Ian? Well, that Yuzhi with this Yuelou.

Ah yes, the role that Mao Zijun is most known for from The Legend of Chusen(where he has a super deep dubbed voice that it's almost jarring from the dub for Yuelou and Mao Zijun's real voice)
He's apparently very powerful in this drama so I think he and Chen Yuzhi would be a very powerful couple. Probably an enemies to lover thing (because that's just their dynamic)

So, Day Breaker. I wasn’t actually going to make a post about it but I need to because um...what the fuck.
I initially started off this drama to watch Xia Tian (Song Rong’s actor from Killer and Healer)(and let me fucking tell you something, he did so good, I will get to his character later) but as I watched it, I got sucked into the storyline and uh...what a storyline it was.
So, Day Breaker is basically China’s “anti-drug” campaign put into a drama form but uh...hey. That shit worked. Also, I swear to fucking god, the director watched Killer and Healer because uh...Luo Xiang and Jiang Yuelou are very similar. They were both in the Anti-Drug Brigade, they lost everyone around them, including their lover, but they didn’t lose their “daughter”...and in the last few minutes of the finale, they showed what a “happy ending” could have looked like for them.
Like damn. Also, Luo Xiang (played by Li Yi Feng, who was in the Legend of Chusen and The Lost Tomb as Wu Xie) was whumped to fucking hell and back in this drama. Like, if you like whump, this is a good drama for you.
Now, only Xia Tian. Oh my god, I never knew I needed to know what Drug Lord!Song Rong looked but uh...damn. Just...damn. I think he and San Ye would be good friends because uh...they are both very cold and very calculating men when it comes to the drug market...and they both have a lot of lackeys that get their hands dirty for them (though in the end they do end up using their own hands to kill people).
But over all, a good drama. Very much so a bit of a mind fuck because the entire time you’re like...who’s fucking side is everyone on, jesus fucking christ. Like, I’m not kidding. And the glimpse of the “happy ending”...man, why not just stab me in the heart, huh?
