#DailyDevotion YHWH Jesus Christ Is Coming To Judge The Nations
Psalm 9 15Nations are sunk in the pit they themselves made; their feet are caught in the very net they hid. 16The LORD shows Who He is by His justice. The wicked were trapped by their own doings.
In David's day, these were the nations the LORD displaced, removed from the promised land. They were “cherem,” that is, sacrificed to the LORD at His command. This was their fate as they did not listen to the preaching of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The world should take notice, especially the nations in which the Gospel is and has been preached. For there is no nation that is not being spoken of here and now. They are sunk in the pit they have made themselves. Their feet are caught in the very net they hid. There are many Christians who would like to think their nations are Christian because there was and is a large population of Christians there. While that is true to some extent, nevertheless nations are not Christian, people are Christian. We should not be surprised when national, state, county and city governments turn against us. They listen to the spirit of the world. There is not a one which will not rebel against the Lamb and His Church.
So the LORD will show who He is by His justice. This is paralleled in the psalm by, “The wicked were trapped by their own doings.” The LORD judges the nations by the Gospel preached there. He judges it by their own standards as well. He judges them by natural law. On all accounts the nations of the world will be found wanting and will be destroyed by Him when He returns will all His holy angels who will uproot and cast into the Lake of Fire all that is wicked and unclean, never to cause the saints of God trouble again. Until that time, expect trouble from your government as a Christian. It only supports you when it can use you.
17The wicked go back to the grave like all people who forget God.
This is not to say people in the grave do not know there is a God or forget there is a God. No, unbelievers in the grave probably curse God. The wicked, being dead in trespasses and sins, do not know God now and as such the grave is their fate. They are dead while they are alive and still dead when their bodies assume room temperature. They forget God in that they do not know God. Had they known God and remembered Him, they would have repented of their sins and believed in the LORD Jesus Christ and live.
18The poor will not always be forgotten. or those who suffer lose hope forever.
Unlike the nations that forget God, God does not forget the poor. The poor are those who put their faith in our LORD Jesus Christ. They do not hold attachments to the things of the world. They are used, discarded, or taken away but they have no hold on us. It is true those who are poor financially are also the apple of God's eye. He does not forget them, for they stand in His place, for Christ Jesus was poor for our sake. How they are treated is how we treat the LORD.
19Rise, O LORD, to keep men from being triumphant. Nations will be judged before You. 20O LORD, frighten them — so nations will know they're only human.
Once again, the reprise of the LORD judging the nations comes to the fore. We should always remember that. Leaders of government think they are God. He shows they are only human.
Almighty God and Father, preserve us in the faith so we do not forget you and put our trust in men but only put our trust in your Son Jesus Christ. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, Austria. Left Panel The left panel depicts the Garden of Eden of the biblical history, as a green landscape in the lower three-quarters. [2] In the upper section Bosch portrayed God sitting on his throne, surrounded by a luminous halo. Around him is a cloudy sky, with angels fighting rebellious angels who are turning into devils as they fall. Below are, reading from the bottom, [3] God creating Eve from Adam's rib, with Adam sleeping at her feet; [4] the Serpent tempting Eve and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil; [5] and, finally, Adam and Eve expelled from the Garden by an angel, who holds a sword, into a dark forest. Central panel The central painting depicts a Last Judgement, based on John's Book of Revelation. [6] Above is Christ as a judge, surrounded by the Virgin Mary, John the Evangelist and the apostles. The celestial zone, painted in a bright blue, contrasts with the rest of the panel, which is occupied by a dark brownish punishment of the Damned, while the Blessed occupy only a small portion. [7] The punishments come from monstrous creatures of Hell: the damned are burned, speared, impaled, hung from butcher hooks, forced to eat impure food (the Gluttonous), or subjects to cogs of bizarre machines. This scene has strong similarities with the right panel in Bosch's Garden at the Museo del Prado. Right panel Thematically, the hell at right is not different from the Last Judgement. [8] Satan, in the center, receives the damned souls. The mosaics in the Baptistry of the Duomo in Florence form the most important narrative cycle of Florentine art before Giotto. Apparently, according to the inscription, work on the mosaic began in 1225 by the Franciscan friar Jacobus - but other artists that contributed to the cycle included great masters such as Cimabue. It includes the Last Judgement, various Old Testament scenes from the Book of Genesis, and the life of Christ.
