Two drug dealers were arrested along with a large quantity of yaba

RAB has arrested two drug dealers along with yaba worth Tk 31 lakh. On Sunday (September 6), RAB raided the Lalpur area of Feni and arrested two drug dealers along with 6,315 pieces of yaba. The motorcycle used for transporting drugs was seized at that time. The estimated value of the recovered drugs is 31 lakh 57 thousand rupees. According to the RAB, it was learned through secret news that some drug dealers were going to Dhaka from Chittagong with huge amount of drugs on motorcycles. A RAB team set up a check post on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway at the CNG stand area in Lalpul area of Feni and started searching vehicles. At that time, if the movement of a motorcycle coming from Chittagong to Dhaka seemed suspicious, the RAB members signaled to stop the motorcycle. He tried to escape by crossing the RAB check post at high speed without stopping the motorcycle. RAB members chased and seized the motorcycle. Haque Mia (30), father Abdul Halim, Sang Galakanda, Thana Purbadhala, District Netrokona arrested. During the interrogation of the detainees, 6,315 pieces of yaba hidden under the seat of the motorcycle were recovered. The motorcycle (Gazipur-H-11-6944) was seized. RAB-7 Assistant Director (Media) said. Mahmudul Hasan Mamun said the two arrested persons and the recovered drugs have been handed over to Feni Model Police Station for further legal action. NATIONAL COMMISSION FOR MINORITY RIGHTS DELEGATION CALLS ON CM

LAHORE, November 15:

A delegation of National Commission for Minority Rights led by Dr. Muhammad Shoaib Suddle called on Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar at his office and discussed about the provision of facilities and matters relating to the welfare of the minorities. A principle decision was also taken to compile the data of non-Muslim employees from across the province. Talking on the occasion, the chief minister said that Punjab is being made an exemplary the province with regard to protection of minorities’ rights adding that Punjab minority package would prove to be an exemplary programme with regard to minorities’ welfare. Youhana Abad will be made a model area with an amount of Rs.30 crore, he added. The chief minister directed to appoint a provincial focal person to timely solve matters relating to the minorities and added that employees belonging to the minority communities will be given official holidays on their religious days. He pointed out that non-Muslim students are being given educational scholarships worth Rs.2.5 crore while another amount of Rs.2.5 crore will be distributed among non-Muslim research scholars and postgraduate students as scholarships. The chief minister informed that a proposal will be reviewed to exempt non-Muslim students to appear in the competitive examinations during their religious days. He said that lands reserved for minorities in the province are being retrieved from squatters. He asked the police officers to personally check the security of churches. Usman Buzdar said that grant of dual voting right to the minorities in the local bodies’ elections is a praiseworthy step of the Punjab province. He pointed out that non-Muslim students are being imparted technical training on scholarships in collaboration with six different chambers of commerce adding that non-Muslim prisoners will also be given remission in sentences for reading their respective religious books. Dr. Shoaib Suddle apprised the chief minister about objectives of the commission and added that Punjab will emerge as a model with regard to the protection of rights and provision of facilities to non-Muslim communities. Ramesh Kumar MNA, Saqib Jillani Advocate, provincial minister Ijaz Alam, ACS (Home), administrative secretaries and others attended the meeting.

CM message on the international day of tolerance: Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has said the religion of Islam stresses for promoting the norms of tolerance and harmony in the society and it is the need of the hour that these norms should be promoted because intolerance creates societal disorder. In his message, the chief minister said that a peaceful society can be formed by promoting the norms of tolerance, brotherhood and harmony and added that educational institutions play an important role in this regard. There is a need to encourage and promote inter-religious harmony in the society, he added. The purpose of celebrating this day is to highlight the importance of societal norms based on the principles of harmony, tolerance and brotherhood and we should also make a commitment to play our active role in this regard, the chief minister concluded.

CM takes notice of news item: Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has taken notice of a news item about the illness of 19 years old Hamza of Garri Shahu and sought a report from the health department. He has directed to take immediate steps and assured that Punjab government will bear the treatment expenses.

CM condoles loss of lives: Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has expressed a deep sense of sorrow over the loss of precious human lives due to lightening from the sky in Tharparkar and other areas of Sindh province. He extended sympathies to the bereaved families and prayed for the early recovery of the injured.

CM condoles death of brother of Athar Masood: Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has condoled the death of brother of Athar Masood, senior journalist of daily Jang and extended sympathies to the bereaved family. He prayed that may Allah Almighty rest the departed soul in eternal peace.

MORE THAN ONE CRORE RUPEES RELEASED FOR THE TREATMENT OF DESERVING PATIENTS

LAHORE, November 15:

On the directions of Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar, funds amounting to more than one crore rupees have been issued for the treatment of four deserving patients suffering from bone marrow disease and liver transplant. Rs.26.8 lacs have been provided to Javed Akhtar of Husnain Bakhsh Park Lahore for liver transplant. He is under treatment in Shaikh Zayed Hospital Lahore. Rs.26.8 lacs have been released for liver transplant of Muhammad Saleem of Chak No.157 WB Vehari. This patient is also under treatment in Shaikh Zayed Hospital Lahore. Meanwhile, another amount of Rs.26.8 lacs have been provided to Ghulam Zakiya of Gunj Bazar Lalpul Mughalpura Lahore for her liver treatment in Shaikh Zayed Hospital Lahore. Rs.23 lacs are given to Noorzada of Rawalpindi for bone marrow treatment. He is under treatment at Armed Forces Bone Marrow Transplant Center Rawalpindi. In a statement, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has said that healing the wounds of the ailing humanity is a noble cause and assured that all possible cooperation will be extended for the treatment of deserving patients. I will continue to heal the wounds of the ailing humanity as long as I am bestowed by Allah Almighty, he added.
