What Gay furry fiction have you been reading lately? I'm genuinely curious.
I've been reading the works of Kyell Gold recently, specifically the Out of Position series set in his Forester universe. It's about a tiger and fox dealing with the ups and downs of life, including the challenges of being a gay football player on a professional sports team. It's very well written, and it's got good sex scenes, so I've been enjoying my time.

Random personal post but I recently got into bookbinding and here are my first two books!
Tumblr media
The green/gold one on the left is For Roads Untraveled over @/tallstars-rewrite (yes, I formatted, printed, and bound a warriors fic lol) and the blue one on the right is Aquifers by Kyell Gold.
I spent basically every night the last two weeks of June making these cuz I wanted to have them done for pride month.
This was a really fun craft to learn since the minimum craftsmanship/artistic ability needed to make a decent-looking final product is really low, and it's also functional, which is fun!

There's a post going around making fun of this headline and book because apparently promoting queer Muslim love (in 2017 during the muslim ban) is cringe?
The book is The Time He Desires by Kyell Gold.
Here's an excerpt from his website describing the book:
After thirty years, Aziz's marriage now consists mostly of arguing about whether to sell their store to a developer. His wife has a social life, interests and plans for the future, but the pawnshop is Aziz's connection to his community. And then one day a desperate fox rushes into the shop looking for the honeymoon tape his husband sold. Seizing on this chance to make a difference, the cheetah steps up to help save their crumbling marriage. A gay couple might not show him the way to a new life, but he's running out of ways to save his old one.
Gold said this about why he wrote the book:
"I wanted to acknowledge that there are queer Muslims out there in the world,” he said. “One of the things I’d seen come up every now and then is especially American queer Muslims saying that they don’t have any community, except for these online groups. They can’t join their Muslim communities if they’re going to be out about their sexuality; but they can’t join many LGBT groups because people will be wary of them because of their religion."
He wanted to write the book to encourage everybody to be themselves and find a community where they can be proud of who they are.
You can find the book on FurPlanet, Thriftbooks, Barnes&Noble, and Amazon.

I just finished this furry novella- The Time He Desires by Kyell Gold.
A pawn shop owner deals with his crumbling marriage, a developer trying to buy his business, and his prejudices when a man comes in looking for his honeymoon tape that his husband sold. The narrative is mature, sensitive, frank, and fair. The prose is layed; Gold builds on the themes of change brilliantly.
I'm not a furry, and one doesn't have to be to enjoy this story. The anthropromorphic characters and qualities are unobtrusive. You might need some background knowledge of feline body language at the least to get some of the subtle things.
It was a worthy and fun read! Gold did his reaearch with Islam, as the main character and his wife are Muslim immigrants. He also writes his methods in the back of the book for those curious. I would absolutely suggest this! I bought it a con, but you can buy it at furplanet.com
And shout out to the phrase "Lion Christ!" uttered exactly once, because it implies that this world's Jesus' first name was Lion and that's the world building I'm here for.

Up now on my eBay! Classic furry con program guide from 2010! Texas Furry Fiesta 2010 convention program book, featuring Kyell Gold! Also up for grabs: my superheroine comic collection (70’s-80’s stuff), random Radio Comix books and various indie comics! My house is super small, and I am still selling off thirty years’ worth of collectibles to raise money for ongoing back taxes & various upcoming large expenses, so every little bit helps. Thanks for looking & sharing!

It begins again
So, I'm a big fan of the Out of Position series by Kyell Gold, and I absolutely love these books. Un fact, I just got the third book for my birthday a couple days ago. The issue though... Whenever I read these books, I find myself in what I call my Post OoP state. It's a state of depression where I'm envious of the characters Lee and Dev for having one another, seclude myself in every possible way, and just, fall apart for anywhere from a few hours to a week. Usually it doesn't hit me until Im at the ends of the books. But, it's hit me early. I got smacked with it while I was in the middle of the book, and now... Sorry for rambling. I wanted to put it out there. Not that it really helps, though. Talking has never helped with the Post OoP state.
