Here's a random history fact that made me laugh hard: The Kugelpanzer ("ball tank") is a one-man armoured vehicle built by Nazi Germany during World War II. The history of the vehicle is practically unknown other than the fact that at least one example was exported to the Empire of Japan and used by the Kwantung Army. The machine remains something of a mystery due to the lack of records and the incompleteness of the sole surviving model.

خلاصه ای از مشخصات تانکِ توپی شکل Kugelpanzer

  لقب عجیب‌ترین خودروی نظامی جهان به Kugelpanzer می‌رسد. این تانکِ توپی شکل توسط ارتش آلمان و به منظور عبور از زمین‌های ناهموار طراحی شده بود. تانک توپی Kugelpanzer دومین تلاش آلمان برای ساخت یک تانک توپی بوده و پیش از آن در سال ۱۹۱۷ یک نمونه ابتدایی از این تانک تولید شد.

تانک Kugelpanzer دارای یک محفظه استوانه‌ای بوده و برای حرکت از یک پیشرانه تک سیلندر استفاده می‌کرد. این تانک دو خدمه را حمل کرده و سرعت آن تنها به ۸ کیلومتر در ساعت می‌رسید.

براساس اسناد موجود آلمان برای ساخت Kugelpanzer در دهه ۱۹۴۰ از کمک و فناوری ژاپنی‌ها استفاده کرده است. در سال ۱۹۴۵ یک نمونه از تانک Kugelpanzer توسط ارتش سرخ به غنیمت گرفت شد و امروزه در موزه زرهی کوبینکا به نمایش گذاشته شده است.

"This strange vehicle was a vehicle, manufactured by the famous Krupp company, and the idea was to be a one-man scouting vehicle. Because it is a vehicle of reconnaissance, its main function is not one of armor proper but one of a unit of fast attack, mainly against infantry. After the armistice the vehicle prototypes from recovered by the Allies, except for two of them who were taken by a division of the SS, who fled to the fortress in the German Alps. The Kugelpnazer became a museum piece until in 1949 they appeared in combat in the units of the Werwolf Korp. Two versions were developed, one with a small cane of 50mm with about 30 rounds and the other version with two MG-42 machine guns with about 2,500 rounds,"
