The Spartan trudged across the Bifrost. He, Freya, and Mimir spent a day helping the 9 realms recover from the despotic hold the All-father had placed upon them. The sun was already setting and added a chill to the air.

Walking alongside them, the retired war god, Týr. Whom they freed from his prison in Niflheim.

It was a tedious task, but in the end, it would help all the realms to heal. Right now, Kratos just wanted to be with his agapitós for being away from him as long and as well as their unborn child.

Both Kratos and Heimdall waited a bit in their relationship with each other and took care of some duties as rulers of Asgard. Heimdall decided, after some thoughts and discussion with Kratos, to have a child together.

The former god of war stalled a bit about starting a family with him. Heimdall understood his hesitance about starting a family after losing his first family because of Ares, then losing Faye because of an unforeseen circumstance. After some time of reassurance and patience, Kratos agreed to have a family again. They told Atreus about their plan to have a family. The boy was very excited to become a big brother.

Before it came to fruition, both traveled to Vanaheim to ask Heimdall's mothers, Blóðughadda, to change some parts of his body to carry a baby. They obliged and got excited about becoming a grandmother.

There were some struggles with conceiving the baby, nearly giving up on having a child together, then finally expecting, and they shared the news with their friends, family, and Asgard. The news of Heimdall's pregnancy spread within the nine realms, where everyone celebrated for them.

But it ended in heartbreak that the baby had stopped developing at 8 weeks, thus using herbs that Freya had gathered to make into a drink to help remove the fetus from Heimdall's body. Which was a painful process to watch the blond go through. The spartan held Heimdall close to him, while the god of foresight was sobbing in pain as the herbs did their work to remove the babe that they will never know from his body, Freya soothingly rubbing his lower back to help ease the pain.

Once the ordeal was done, Heimdall cleaned up. Atreus was let in the room with then, he mourned with them, losing a sibling he would never know. The boy put himself against Heimdall, where the two fell asleep together after shedding a few tears.

Kratos didn't want to see his beloved go through that pain anymore after the ordeal was done. He knew the whole nine realms had heard of this tragedy, and Asgardians were mourning with them, mourning a loss of an heir. Sif, she let Heimdall know it was not his fault that he lost the baby, that his body knew something was off about the baby.

The Spartan and the Aesir had stopped trying for a baby. They didn't think about when to start again until Heimdall felt sick and tired. The blond brushed it off as if he ate something bad, or he didn't sleep well, though it really didn't stop. Both of them had approached Freya to see if she could tell them what was wrong.

There she revealed Heimdall was pregnant again. 2 weeks pregnant to be exact, which was a shock/surprise for both of them. But the lingering fear Heimdall had after the miscarriage, the Vanir goddess, let him know it would be alright and that the baby would be ok.

Once the news of Heimdall being pregnant again went through Asgard, the Asgardians prayed for this pregnancy to stick for him.

True to her word, the baby was fine and growing. Already was 23 weeks pregnant.

“And so that’s what all happened. Now the nine realms can start their healing process.” 

Týr gave a hum to Mimir, as he walked alongside the war god. "As it should be."

“But you know, Týr, the all-fuckers performance of you was convincing, but along with being a big coward.” Mimir disclosed to him.

The retired war god stopped once at the end of the Bifrost in Asgard. He stared at everything for a while, almost in a reminiscing his time being here before leaving.

"It has been a long time since I've been here..." He remarked, softly. His Bifrost eyes analyzing everything, he gave a relief of his breath that he held once, feeling the air didn't have that smoke that choked within Asgard. "A lot has changed, but now, there is a good change."

Kratos grunted. "Mn."

"Aye, but at least everything is working in order of healing!"

Freya spoke. "Everyone is at the great lodge. I'm sure we can find a room for you to have."

Týr stroked his beard. "I wonder if my old room is still there. Or that the all-father made sure it wasn't there."

"We would have to see."

The Spartan walked down the halls of the great lodge towards his quarters. He nodded to those that walked past him, saying nothing. Reaching his quarters, he took a deep breath before entering.

Sensing someone opening the door, Heimdall jerked his head from his book to the door to see the spartan entering, then closing the heavy door behind. He gave a relieved smile to Kratos as he put his book down on his lap.

He spoke. "Your back, finally. Did you and Freya run into trouble while helping within the nine realms?"

"Mn" The Spartan started to take off his armor, settling them down on the dresser and putting his weapons down. Tossing the blades of chaos without any care, but gently placed the leviathan ax down. He was in nothing else but his trousers, once finished he walked to the side of the bed and carefully climb on next to the blonde before settling down.

The blonde rolled his eyes. "I'll take that grunt as you did run into trouble. What happened?"

"Remaining Einherjar." Kratos grumbled, that made the blonde tense a bit once hearing about remaining soldiers of the all-fathers army.

"Where did you saw them?"

"Niflheim. They were standing guard to this old prison that Freya, Mimir and I never saw before."

Heimdall lifted a brow. "An old prison?"

Kratos gave a nod then continued. "When we defeated them, we went inside to explore it before running into Týr."

"Týr?! But... But I thought... Loki put the all-father's soul in a marble. How? How did… " Heimdall sputtered, panicking.

"It wasn't Odin. It was the real Týr, he heard of my name but couldn't remember."

The Blonde gave a sigh of relief and leaned back against the pillows. He touched the spot between his eyebrows to calm some remaining tension, sensing Kratos's hand against his stomach, he cast a glance over to Kratos, who adjusted himself on the bed and reached out to his belly.

Heimdall watches softly as the Spartan's hand settled upon his growing mound and gentle rubbed his belly with his thumb, the baby fluttered about.

"They missed you." Heimdall told, as he looked over to Kratos.

"Mn"

"When you left with Freya to help the realms, they were moving around. They stopped but kept going until I sang them a lullaby, then they settled down."

"What lullaby did you sang to them?" Kratos asked, as he removed his hand from his beloved's stomach and settled back.

Heimdall smiled. "Vargsången. The wolf song."

The Spartan lifted a brow. "Wolf song? Who taught you that?"

"Sköll and Hati. Loki wanted me to come along with him to Vanaheim, just to see them and to help the baby to settle down. Though when we were there, the baby wasn't really letting up their kicking, Hati had noticed my discomfort. Communicating with Loki, the wolf told him to teach me of 'The Wolf Song' to help, but of course communicating through Loki with the song. And it worked." Heimdall informed, he placed his hand in front of his stomach.

Kratos gave a subtle smirk to Heimdall, that made him blush all over, he scooted over to the blond before wrapping his arm around his shoulder to bring him close to him. The God of foresight, leaned against him, closing his eyes he took in the Spartan's scent; fresh and earthy like a forest.

He feels Kratos's hand against his hand on his stomach, softly he looked down to smile. "Our gift..." He whispered, happily.

"Our gift from the rainbow, agapitós."

HOOOO BOY SORRY THIS TURNED INTO A RANT however you did ask for my opinion and this is my blog so you know what. I am gonna post it. And this will be the only time I talk about it.

I reeeeeally don't like kradall it creeps me out and I don't understand it at fucking all. I see people try to make Hear Me Out posts about them and AUs about them and it just makes less and less sense to me (and I KNOW this is bold ass words coming from me I KNOW) but the canon dynamic that does exist for them at no point to me ever at all in the slightest tipped me off or made me think to ship them. Never clicked.

Then again you gotta remember that I'm someone who has been autistic about Kratos since 2005 and I am so incredibly damn picky about shipping him unironically with anyone. Shipping Kratos with Heimdall knowing the kind of person Kratos is and what hes gone through to Become his new self in the norse saga just doesn't make sense. A lot of kradall I see (that isn't non/con honestly another huge reason I don't vibe with it is that a bunch of people use it as a bolt for r/pe stuff in the early moments of Ragnarok fandom) is just them in a very ooc marriage situation I can't wrap my head around. Throwing Kratos into a heavy intense relationship is dumb to me like it took him centuries to fucking get over Lysandra and then moving on to Faye and I'm expected to belive the Hear Me Out posts about why Kratos would be in a long term relationship with.... Heimdall? The guy who is a complete prick to giants? Who actively said misogynistic shit about Atreus' mom who Kratos still loves with his whole heart? And threatened to actively kill his 14 year old son? Kratos's son? Kratos who has lifelong trauma about his child dying from war? I'm not buying it im sorry. No way you cook it will convince me.

In the early points of the ships existence honestly felt to me like people who were into Heimdall just wanted to explore a crutch for brat breaking. But its just genuinley not something I'm into. I'm a firm believer of ship and let ship as long as its harmless and for the most part it is! It's people having fun but it's not for me and never, ever ever will be no matter what and there is a reason I don't talk about it on this blog.

I've been in this fandom a long time and let me say Kratos x Heimdall reminds me a lot of when GoW3 came out and people started shipping and writing tons of Kratos x Hermes dubcon stuff for the sole reason of yaoi fujoshi people wanted to fetishize the gay male power dynamic. Its like I honestly feel some people see a big muscular man and a smaller effeminate man and are like "oh I need to make one a submissive girl" like again I know its just words and pictures on a screen but I have been here long enough to be Very Tired of seeing my sexuality get used as a fetish tool sjshskdnks

And. And ill be honest. And this is petty and trust me this is literally just me and my opinion but I cannot fucking stress how utterly confused and flabbergasted because FREYR IS RIGHT FUCKING THERE. HE IS RIGHT FUCKING THERE. BLATANTLY INTO KRATOS, A COMPLETE KIND SWEETHEART FULL OF LOVE, EXACTLY THE KIND OF GUY THAT WOULD SHOW KRATOS A GOOD TIME AND HAS AN ADORABLE ONSCREEN DYNAMIC THAT DOESN'T EVEN NEED TO BE AU'd OR CHANGED TO MAKE SENSE AND THIS FANDOM DOES NOTHING WITH IT. I see so many AUs where Heimdall survives to get with Kratos and valid but you know what??? I am gonna be angry, WHERE ARE MY FREYR LIVES AUs. WHERE ARE MY AUs WHERE FREYR LIVES AND GETS KRATOS ASCENDED ON THAT VANAHEIM ZA???????

LIKE FORREAL. I honestly feel like this fandom gets so blindsided by Heimdall and wanting to put him in situations and hell I'm guilty of it too, but I have genuinley met GoW Heimdall likers that straight up forgot Freyr existed and it shocks me. I don't get it!!!!!!

Theres a reason I ship Heimdall x Hermes together and its because their individual dynamics are so unbelievably compatible and I like to explore that. But I get people wanting something more realistic in universe as a muse. When it does come to shipping Heimdall with someone else in canon that makes absolute dynamic sense to me, I gotta be honest, Heimdall x Gná is the only "heimdall gets a dom" pairing that I can realistically get behind. Since they both would actually like each other despite being hated by all their peers for their devotion to Odin. Is it healthy? No, but Kradall isn't exactly peaches and cream either. So we work with what we got babey!!!!

fluffy headcanon for Kradall (?): Heimdall is a total cat person, he sees any kitten-esc creature and he is squealing with delight, since Gulltoppr is no longer around, he brings home a little kitten of the same species/closely resembling one. But heres the kicker: Kratos hates cats, he is a dog person, but he has no strength nor heart to tell that to Heimdall, so he pushes the thought of that down deep inside him so his lover won't get hurt p.s- he eventually becomes that guy who carries the cat like a baby, telling anyone questioning him that "he enjoys being carried like this"

This is kinda ironic because my cat has just pissed on my fresh laundry so he’s not in my good books right now 🙃

Heimdall has always loved animals. He prefers them over people because there’s never any malicious intent. He didn’t show it at the time but by the gods he misses Gulltopper.

He’s tagging along with Kratos in Vanaheim one day and he can hear small whimpers. He finds a baby Gradungr, but the mother is no where to be found. Heimdall’s heart feels heavy, he doesn’t want to leave it there but he can’t just leave the poor thing.

Gently he picks up the small creature and for the first time in a while, his can feel his heart skip a beat. Holding the small animal in the palm of his hand, he cradles the creature and brings it along.

He catches up with Kratos and before he can say anything, all he gets is a stern “No” as Kratos walks past him and the runt.

Heimdall ignores this and berates Kratos for being so callous and what would Atreus say knowing his father willingly left a defenceless animal to suffer. Being the man of many words, Kratos grumbles and continues the journey back home, stoic as ever.

He saw the look on Heimdall’s face as he coo’d at the animal in his hands and it brought back all the times Atreus would often plead to bring back yet another animal to the cabin in the wild woods.

He relented with Fenrir, Speki and Svanna. Even grew to love and appreciate the hounds but this was far too much. It was hard enough to hunt and feed 2 wolves, and 2 men and Freya when she was around, let alone another so he says nothing.

It’s been several weeks and the little Gradungr is growing well. Heimdall comes back in the cabin and is shocked at what he sees. Not even his foresight could’ve seen this! Kratos cooking by the stove, lovingly holding the creature in one arm as he stirs the pot of stew with the other. Too shocked to even make a sarcastic comment, he’s brought back to reality when Kratos nonchalantly says “he was lonely”.

Heimdall just smirks knowing just how much Kratos was warming up to the little guy. Even though he would never admit it.

From that day on, as the animal grows, Kratos is often found close by it’s side. Hunting? Kratos takes the animal with him. Housework? The creature is perched on some part Kratos’ body.

Heimdall appreciates what Kratos is doing and it warms him to see his lover give affection to another creature that was abandoned by its parent. Heimdall can see a parallel between his and this animal and even though it pains him, he becomes more appreciative of everything Kratos does and will continue to do for him.

I do have a post listing my Headcanons for Heimdall but if we're talking about Kradall, I have a few if Heimdall lived:

Kratos very much sees Heimdall as a point of change in himself. He defied the Norns and destiny by not killing Heimdall in the traditional sense. Instead, he has 'killed' Odin's version of Heimdall. By not doing what the Norns and even what Heimdall presumed him to do, Heimdall has to re-evaluate everything about what he believed to be true.

Kratos does regret taking Heimdall's arm, it represents a part of himself he wants to remain in the past but in a moment of weakness, he allowed it to consume him. But he isn't overly sweet or nice out of guilt, he still remains stoic and grumpy but it's the tiny gestures he makes towards Heimdall while he recovers that he normally wouldn't do, brings him food, leaves fresh clothes out for him etc. Just the tiny things.

Heimdall is very confused about everything Kratos does. Heimdall's concept of love is that it is a trade, with Odin that love was conditioned on Heimdall's talents and foresight benefiting him. With Kratos, Heimdall doesn't understand what the man wants in return for keeping him alive. At first, maybe, he only thinks that Kratos wants to barter him with Odin (and if we are getting into the more romantic side- perhaps Heimdall believes he wants sexual favours in return which makes Heimdall angry). I'm not into any of that Kratos is lustful at first sight, but more so a slow burn of trust being earnt through Kratos showing Heimdall that love isn't conditional on usefulness.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head at this stage, I'm sure if I ever write anything for the two and have the opportunity to explore that dynamic myself, that more will come to me. And thank you for your lovely words!

My HC is that heimdall is still going to run his mouth regardless of him trying to change and not be the god he was under odins control (war crimes and all). Though, I think that whenever someone bad mouths boy or dad of boy he escalates. From just being annoying to complete evisceration of someone’s mental stability and soul. Kind of how he was protective of Odin but obviously not as intense.

Kind of start off like:

“I’m the only one that can call the runt a runt, got that?”

“yes he’s a dumb brute of a man but he’s MY big dumb brute of a man so if I were you-“

And then he gets into using foresight to see their insecurities, traumas and etc and uses it against them. It gets really intense sometimes that kratos just has to resort to picking him up and walking away. Mimir will have a thing or two to say as well. (Yes I’m still obsessed with kradall)

hmm, honestly, i don't kind of see it? i mean i think i know what they are on about, the whole enemies to lovers thing, yeah. however i think that atreus' and kratos' bond is far too strong to let it happen? like that man would do anything to save his kid, and heimdall is litreally trying to kill the boy so not really? i guess you were expecting a different answer so sorry to dissapoint! sorry if it came out rude, i'll try digging through the ship a bit and then state a real opinion

+ Heimdall would grow his Bifrost arm when cooking.  I think this hc will happen after post Ragnarok when I read this anon’s hc. Heimdall will mumble something like “ Sometime Kratos would say he miss eating Olive. What is that, Tyr?” I may draw about Heimdall and Olive tree if I had enough time after work.
