What's Hot? Being #Natural. "So many things to say," as my friend @tinamcdowelle says when we're about to get "deep". I try my best to be authentic and transparent about life and stuff because it's easy to get caught up in the filter. I don't always succeed. I took 4 pictures to get to this "natural" one. The message I wanted to give was 1) if you're going natural, keep going. It took me three long years to get here. And I had it easy because I didn't have a corporate job to go to where I had to look and *feel* "normal" and pretty while I was transitioning out of my perm. There were many a day I felt fuzzy and ugly, but kept going or threw on a hat and brighter lipstick because I could. 2) Being natural doesn't mean you have to be curly. My friend @crescentspeak is my favorite example of that. She's all natural but still wears her hair straight...because she wants to. 3) If you want to know what I do: LOC method all the way. My friend @tanya.alexander does the same and we discovered it does wonders. (Thanks @discovher.life for showing me the way!) Liquid = water & @kinkycurly #KnotToday; Oil = #ArganMagic Intensive Hair Oil; Cream = @SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus #Curl Enhancing Smoothie. Apply each one *separately* and then double strand twist...about 15+ small twists. I tried many awful frizzifying things before this. 4) Most days I'm in a ponytail afro puff on top of my head 'cause it's easier. I live in #LA where a lot of girls are natural, so one is never alone in the hair game. Makes it easier when you have a mirror to your beauty. I understand. Even though I was the last of my tribe to go there...it feels good. It is freeing. I'm still getting used to it, but I'm now naturally #happy. If that's what you want, you can be too. Goodnight.
