knights and their god damn capes

i cant animate the void one but imagine the effect behind gastly, shadowy mist/fog/steam thing.i dont know what its called so if you let me know i will love you /p

ramble below blah blah blah with additional drawings and inspirations and explainationsfor eachof the aspect if you care

i also couldnt animate the space effect well, but imagine something like asriels god of hyperdeath form with THAT effects on the wings. or giygas's background. i couldnt figure out how to repeat the image pattern so i hope it looks okay.

space players have a star pointed shape at the end of their cape, with of course the space overlay playing in it (do not say stolas cape i will kill you (im aware i probably took some inspiration from it subconciously but i hate that cunt)

light players are simple. theyre supposed to look like the sun

rage players have a sharp, spikes at the end of their shape. also the image isnt clear but the symbol is supposed to look like fangs here because oh my god rage is such a pain in the ass to draw.

doom players have the tattered/destroyed cape, self explantory. symbol is supposed to be the death symbol from alchemy, with added spikes from the og symbol

heart players have... Hearts.

hope players always have wings in their cloak/ribbon/cape thing, so i thought it would be fun to do it for the knight too. the symbol is changed to a light on top of a pair of wings. shown with the maid here:

time players have squares at the end of the cape, i still love the fanon interpretation of it so i included it here. actually i forgot the actual canon designs dont have the cog-like shape lolol

life players have a bush-like texture to it. like a bunch of leaves sticking to the cape. it could probably grow flowers too but im not depicting them here. the symbol is changed to a nicer green with a dna strip

like i said, voids have a gastly shadowy effect in the cape. i also changed the void symbol to a black hole because it feels more fitting and different from space.

thats all. im not doing the entire aspect wheel since im tired and i dont really have a use for them or i couldnt think of something creative to add to it. feel free

if u dont know already i am a huge homestuck nerd who LOVES classpecting so it is pretty much inevitable that i will make a homestuck au out of any media im currently into. and raincode is no exception!

so. heres a part one of i think 5 (unless i change my mind and include more than 2 characters per post) featuring yuma and makoto bcuz theyre the protag/main antag duo so its only expected to do them first i think.

ive written their descriptions first so theyre kinda shitty but the general idea is there. plz note that i am by no means a Writer and i do not have great Writing Skills so dont expect many convoluted sentences and stuff. this is mostly just for me and i try so hard to prioritize having fun over sounding cool or smart

Powerset for a Knight of Void

one who protects secrets, obscurity, and obsession

Basic Void powers: Epiphanies about people and their secrets, and inexplicable insights into things others worry about but never say aloud. They are also remarkably hard to spy on - any surveillance that targets them is returned silent, blacked out, or otherwise useless.

Knight special: Every time you fight someone, you get a flicker of insight into something they keep secret from their peers - this might be practical info like their fighting style's secret weakness, or a deeply personal sorrow or insecurity. The stronger the enemy is, the more likely you are to discover highly-guarded information.

Pick 1 Helm Skill, 1 Sword Skill, and 1 Shield Skill. Each skill's potency increases as you practice, gain experience, and progress in your personal development.

Helm Skills

Confidant: You always know how to hide evidence, and are remarkably resistant to interrogation, leading questions, or other attempts to make you divulge information you'd rather keep hidden.

Silhouette: You blend into crowds and shadows with ease. When you hide, only exceptionally skilled pursuers can pick you out.

Subterfuge: When you tell a lie, for better or for worse, people tend to believe you. If you tell someone two things that should be mutually exclusive, astute listeners may catch you, but most people will try and puzzle out a way you could be telling the truth, if they even notice.

Sword Skills

Merciless Shadowdance: When you attack an enemy, their shadow is effectively part of their hitbox - if you attack it via your own shadow, or with darkness-based magic, their real body gets wounded. They can take the damage that'd normally come from your weapon, or at your option, the same amount of frost damage or abyssal damage. Additionally, your shadow can follow up your melee attacks, dealing abyssal damage equal to 6% of the original attack's damage.

Unknowable Blades: When you're hiding weapons on your person, or holding them in your Sylladex, they are only detectable for you - people who search you can't find them, and scans don't register them. Your weapon attacks are silent unless you choose otherwise, and when you land sneak attacks and critical hits with your weapon, you can wreathe it in unearthly shade to deal bonus abyssal damage equal to +56% of the attack's damage.

Veil of Hazy Moonlight: In dimly-lit areas, darkness, heavy smoke, or fog, the murk blacks out most of your body, like a suit of invisiblizing armor. Your dodge chance is tripled under these conditions. Additionally, when you fight enemies you can't see, or when you're under a debuff that interferes with your senses, a gloomy blue aura spirals around you. Your base accuracy doubles, and you get +18% crit chance and +20% crit damage.

Shield Skills

Aphotic Refuge: When you detonate a smoke bomb, block out a light source, or otherwise improvise a hiding place, you can encircle it in a barrier of abyssal energy - invisible or lightlessly black, your choice. The barrier is cold to the touch, absorbs all non-magical damage for 6 seconds, and launches away enemies who try to touch it. You and your allies can pass through it without incident.

Blackout Burst: When you take lethal damage while not casting a shadow - in darkness, murky or foggy places, under the effects of invisibility, and more - you don't die. All enemies within 6 meters are encased in ice (frost damage) or thrashed by eldritch tendrils (bludgeoning damage), and your body blinks into nothingness. The following night, you emerge, fully healed, from a random body of water on one of the planets in your session.

Eldritch Armor: Any armor or protective gear you wear takes on an aesthetic appropriate to your image of Void - perhaps gaining a black-sapphire coloration that seems to dim surrounding light, streamlined subtle curves and a moonlit shimmer, or writhing eldritch tendril ornamentation. You get 88% resistance to abyssal damage, and 54% resistance to cold damage.

how useful would a seer of Space and knight of Void be at frog-breeding? like how we'll would their powers/abilities work together in that scenario?

Taking over for mod Rose here while it's busy doing icons.

A seer of space and a knight of void are a very goofy combo, I feel as though they'd probably have some struggles in the frog department.

Typically, seers will end up having doubts and uncertainties in regards to their abilities, often needing to set themselves on the right course/get themselves in the right headspace/actually trust in their abilities. Or, they can get misguided or follow the wrong path.

Knights similarly struggle with embracing their aspect. They typically put on a mask or a front to cover up either their inherent skills in regards to their classpect, or their abundance of it.

With that being said, the seer [depending on the point in their story] would struggle with patience, creativity, physical and metaphorical space along with conceptions. You can either lean into one of those things or all of them, it's up to you. If it were me I would likely go for the conception and patience aspect of their struggle, as I think it could fit in with being paired up with the knight.

The knight would being very adept in dealing with the unknown, literal void, misfortune, secrets and the lack of relevance. All the while, they would have some for of mask with their counterpart aspect of light. To pair with the seer, I would have the knight struggle with trying to take the lead with the frog breeding, making themselves seem as though they know what they're doing when in reality this whole process is a mystery. The seer, who is struggling with how they want to go about the breeding, trusts the knight and allows them to call the shots until they start to question their judgement as something likely gets fucked up in the process.

Eventually, the seer would have to use their abilities to get a vision of what the ideal frog will look like, and trust in their own judgement in order to figure out which frogs are the right ones that make up the ideal frog. Meanwhile, the knight would have to learn to admit it's ok they don't really know what they're doing, and allow themselves to be guided by the seer. The knight would be really helpful in tracking down hidden frogs, while the seer would be good at determining how many frogs would be in a given area and the distance away they are. The duo would basically become like the dowsing machines in pokemon, if things go well of course.

knights, in general, are known to weaponize their aspect, to apply it to themselves or their tools, or apply through it. now, void is all about the unknown, the hidden, the obscure. so, a knight of void could potentially make themselves or their actions invisible, unnoticeable, or simply "voided" out. they might create pockets of nothingness, induce forgetfulness, or hide crucial information or objects. additionally, they could manipulate the absence of something, say, a lack of information, to their advantage. this could make them masters of stealth and subterfuge, very handy in certain situations.

now, onto the narrative. as a knight, their personal goals are intrinsically tied to the narrative's progression. they’re the ones who get their hands dirty, who are willing to do what needs to be done for their own sake, and by extension, the sake of the narrative. for a knight of void, their narrative role would often involve uncovering secrets, revealing truths that were thought to be obscured or lost. they might be the ones to dive into the unknown, brave the darkness, and come out with the knowledge needed to propel the narrative forward.

so, to sum it up, a knight of void is someone who weaponizes the unknown, the ambiguous, and the concealed, using it to navigate through the shadows and bring to light what the narrative requires. they're the secret keepers, the stealth masters, the clandestine operators - always lurking, always watching, always waiting for the right moment to act.
