“I don’t need your help.” She ground out, her face contorted in pain.

“In case you have forgotten, diosa, I only do what I want to.”

“If you think this will put me in debt with…”

“Stop talking.” He shook her, making her groan in pain again. “I don’t want to talk about this. You need help, I’m carrying you… End of discussion.”

He put his feet on the ground and got up from the couch. “Priests, really?” He mused.

“I warned you.” She reminded him needlessly. “You’ve overstayed your welcome. Leave.”

He narrowed his eyes at her. “Are you really going to turn your back to this? We are re-writing…”

Kisa grabbed him by the throat, and suddenly he was against a wall. “Leave before I kill you.” She warned him for the last time.

“And put a target on your back.” Kisa pointed out dryly. “If you have some vendetta against the Church, that’s your problem. Don’t bring it to my doorstep.”

Black Hat sighed dramatically, falling on a chair. “And here I thought a woman of your reputation would be more fun.”

Kisa snorted in disgust. “Men.”

He smirked. “Was it something I said?”

“You’re pushing your luck.” She informed him, her snake-like eyes flashing, as her fangs glistened.

“Luck is found, not made.” He told her easily. “Don’t you want to become a real goddess?”

She snorted. “Not at the cost of my life. Besides, you’re overestimating your power.” A terse look. “And your charm.”

He daringly put his hand on her waist. “Am I?”

Kisa’s hand tightened for a bit. “Has anyone ever told you’re the worst priest ever?”

“Former-priest.”

Kisa dove for his lips at the same time he used his hold on her to pull her to him.
