Wedding group : commissioned by Capt.Thomas Hayes. Union Barracks, Kilmacthomas by National Library of Ireland on The Commons
A handsome military group celebrating the nuptials of Captain Thomas Hayes? There is, however, less than military precision on display - some wearing`gloves and others holding them, some wearing caps and other bareheaded!
With thanks to various contributors, including our own Carol Maddock, it seems certain that this is a wedding party shot from the June wedding of Captain Thomas Hayes (of Union Barracks, Kilmacthomas) and Miss Anne "Nan" Walsh (of Tramore). Along with other groomsmen and bridesmaids is apparently Commandant Patrick "Paddy" Paul (of Waterford). Based on investigations by ofarrl, it seems certain that the group are pictured at the door to Kelly's Hotel in Tramore. Spanking new at the time of this shot, the hotel was felled and rebuilt in the 1980s, and is now the site of the Majestic Hotel...

                                       Dog Day Afternoon
There are so many dog friendly places in Ireland, from beaches to parks, to the ‘pup’sessed MVP bar in Dublin whose slogan is ‘A place for dogs, cocktails, food and alternative events. Humans welcome too’.
Here’s a couple of places to take your dog for a really enjoyable day out, for both of you.
1. The Ardmore Cliff Walk: Ardmore is a coastal village in Co. Waterford.
The Cliff Walk starts at the Cliff House Hotel and will take you around an hour to complete. This is a great way to tire out your pup, and you could stop in at the White Horses restaurant afterwards for some dog friendly dining. If you’re feeling extra lavish, the Ardmore Cliff House Hotel offers pet friendly rooms and a kennel service.
2. The Waterford Greenway: the Greenway starts in Waterford City and goes all the way to Dungarvan.
Your dog will thank you after a day out on the Greenway! If you’re close to Kilmacthomas, Coach House Coffee has outdoor dining that’s lovely when the sun is out. The Greenway has a lot of stops along the way, some dog friendly, some not so much. If you make it all the way to the end, ‘Ireland’s Pet-Friendly Destination of the Year 2019′ awaits. 360 Cookhouse Dungarvan. You can get your thirsty pup a nice bowl of water, or even order from the special canine menu. According to their website, the pergola garden room is a hit with their fur guests.
Embracing the outdoor features, sending a calming effect within the space for pet guests providing them with the freedom to roam about in a comfortable environment.
These are just a few places, but the list in Ireland is endless.
Also, you can’t bring your dog on the train in Ireland. Just something to bear in mind.

One of the best ways to bond with loved ones is to book a family trip and there is no better way to get out and enjoy the beautiful scenery Ireland has to offer by hiking and cycling.
Reconnect with family, nature and the outdoors by cycling and hiking. Cycling is healthy, sustainable, takes us away from crowds, and its popularity only looks set to continue once COVID19 restrictions ease.
One of the popular cycle routes from Waterford to Dungarvan is the Waterford Greenway which is a 46km cycle route.
youtube
Just three years old, this reboot of an old railway line has been a great tourism success and is also a popular choice for those embarking on a honeymoon in Ireland. Highlights of the route include the Victorian railway tunnel near Durrow, Ballyvoile viaduct, Mount Congreve Gardens, and small pleasures like pastries at Coach House Coffee in Kilmacthomas or the sweet counter at O’Mahony’s Siopa Beag in Durrow.
Another popular cycle route is the Phoenix Park in Ireland’s capital city Dublin. Featuring pedestrian and cycle only avenues and it features stunning scenery of Dublin city as well as nature including the wild fallow deer. The park also is home to Ireland’s president as well as the historic Farmleigh house and the country’s largest zoo; Dublin Zoo.
In the heart of the Ring of Kerry is the scenic town of Killarney which is home to a stunning cycle loop through Killarney National Park. The 10km cycle loop is flat route following traffic-free paths as it loops around Muckross Lake in Killarney National Park. Stunning lakes, ancient oak forests, Muckross House, Ross Castle and spectacular mountain views provide plenty photo opportunities. Not forgetting Ireland’s only herd of red deer, as well as the ‘Meeting of the Waters’, where the three Killarney lakes coalesce.

Spoil me - I'm a DJ and I'm cute!
Real Estate have shared the music video for “Stained Glass,” a track from their new record In Mind. In the clip, an animated version of the band performs the song, as the background gets colored in behind them. Along with the standard visual (directed by Craig Allen), there’s an interactive option, which allows you to pick your own colors. Watch the “Stained Glass” video below, and try out the interactive visual here. Real Estate have also announced new fall headlining tour dates behind In Mind. Check out their full itinerary below.
