so sun's family would rather pay for a whole appartement than pay for a treatment??????

The more I think about it, I'm starting to think Sun died in the forest or at least didn't wake up as easily as Khim saw him wake up and is still in the hospital.
We haven't seen anyone else speak to Sun since then. Everyone else seems to be grasping at straws and in pain and worried about losing the people they love Khim's dad is suddenly trying to be kind to him...
This feels like the world Khim wants, the world whether Sun is alive and beside him and his father lets him live his dream and everyone else is still in a real world but he's entered a fairytale.
His father never touched him and the connecting vanished the moment other people arrived. Sun knows why he's afraid of death. Shun didn't go to talk to Sun after he was rejected. Khim's dream of the helicopter and the panic as he pushed the thoughts away. Rain asking Payu to watch Khim after he trusted him to Sun just last episode.
This all feels... off.
Next episode, I'll be watching to see if anyone else talks to Sun. That's the biggest sign.

I love how Khim still has this automatic response to protect Sun and indulge him and how hard Sun is working to try to bring back his memories and how they're still sweet because they're always been awkward so this isn't that much of a change honestly.
Heck, Khim might actually be less awkward right now because he doesn't remember how he feels about Sun.

Khim being literally so jealous about other people existing around Sun that he forgets he's allergic to seafood is a new and fascinating moment to me. Oh, this awkward boy who's so much more comfortable with plants and who is rediscovering the one person he's ever connected to without knowing that they're one and the same person and I am going to be emotionally destroyed when he finds out who Sun is.

Khim carefully moving his bag to make sure Sun sits with him and the revealing that he brought apples with him and not just whole ones but cut ones too is just... oh, this boy cares so deeply even if he doesn't know how to show it.

Khim carefully and secretly turning the lights on for Sun to light his way in the hall and watching his smile from around the corner and remembering it was his birthday just to bring him a little joy for the ways he helped and tried to help him is just absolutely one of the most darling things I've ever seen.

So, Petch and Pie are a fascinating dynamic. We've seen that Petch cares about Pie a great deal this entire time and we know they've had issues in the past with joking about/being assumed to be in a relationship and Pie has rejected all of that. And when Pie starts honestly going after Khim, Petch pulls back.
Their relationship is so, so powerfully expressed in their fencing. They're fighting to figure out what they are in relation to each other, to figure out how much they care.
And when Pie doesn't stop the match when Petch drops his foil, when he still goes for the winning moment, Pie takes that as rejection, as the final refusal of his feelings and his overtures and turns entire to Sun.
While Petch is just starting to process Khim turning his down and his own feelings towards Pie that he's been trying to ignore.
So when their friend says it's like a couple fight... Petch has a lightbulb go off.
But it's too late at that moment, it's too little for him to realize that after Pie's been hurt again and again and rejected so many times.
And it reflects how itself in how Khim sees Sun literally look at someone else and rejects him out of hand to avoid any deeper pain later.
That fear of pain fills both of their relationships but in very different ways. Petch wanted Khim and to get away from being teased about Pie... but Pie's now been rejected by Petch in multiple ways. And Khim keeps pushing Sun away while also caring about him while Sun just keeps trying to find a way around his walls.
And all of this contrasts to Rain and Payu who are in love, who both know they're in love, who know that they want more but are both trapped in their own area of the social contract that prevents them from genuinely acting on their feelings. Neither of them has to push the other away, they're both hurting themselves.
It's a lot of interesting relationships.

I'm still thinking about the airplane necklace and the comets that meet in space and the plant with no chlorophyll being a miracle and the young man with a heart condition with an apple in his hand on the floor of his apartment and the strumming of a guitar and the soft notes of a cello and a tear on one cheek and a disapproving look and a supportive brother and a caring friend and lights being turned on like magic for his birthday and a darling son (guitar) rescued from imprisonment.
