“Mmm...Anchin is so concerned about having control. Over everything. Even the ones that she loves. But that isn’t how it works. I wish she’d learn that.”

“Oh, many times. More so in the past than now. For crippling Reinette, for being the one to live all those years ago, even when I had to kill everyone else to do it...more reasons than I care to count, really.”

10: Have you ever ruined something good? Like a friendship, a good day, a possession, something sacred?

Eru looked pensive, absently tapping his chin. “I’m...not sure,” he said slowly. “I’ve ruined a good many things through the years. But as I look back at them...I’m not sure they were good things. Maybe at the time they were good. But they don’t feel good now. And not because I ruined them. I...I don’t know. I’m sorry.”

19: Name someone you’ve failed. What did you do wrong? How do they feel about you now?

“I’ll never forget...I failed my sister. I couldn’t save her. She was so strong...and so...lonely. Everyone always left her in the end. And in the end, when the Garleans finally managed to take her, I couldn’t follow. And she died for it. She died and I paid for it.”

“So, I’ll settle for something else. Which I would say is her arms! They’ve an impressive tone to them; and I will admit I’m curious as to what it is, exactly, that she does. I would say that I’d ask, but I don’t want to trade my soul for it.” He snorts, waving the whole idea off with a grin. “So I’ll settle for guessing and appreciating the fruits of her labor.”

FEAR. -What are your muses biggest fears?

About a year and a half ago when I first started roleplaying Jayley on FFXIV, I answered a question similar to this. I said that Jayley was deeply afraid of not death, but the possible nothingness that comes after it. She’s a character that just loves knowing things despite her lack of education, and the fact that she can’t know what happens to a consciousness after death really just sort of wigs her out.I think that still stands as a big fear for her, but she’s grown since then. She’s no longer alone and she has a lot more what I would call normal fears now too. She’s had self doubt and self depreciation injected into her veins. She’s afraid that she won’t turn out to be a good parent to the child that’s about to come into her life. She’s afraid that she’ll slip up and fall back into being an absolutely terrible creature, thus scaring away the women she’s given pieces of her heart to over the course of her last year.She’s afraid that R’khena will never recover all her memories, and she fears this might harm her emotional state down the line. She’s afraid she can’t fix this if it happens.She’s afraid A’sharah, who is civilized and a rather proper lady despite her past, might one day feel as though Jayley is far too simple of a creature for her.She’s afraid Y’asmina will see exactly who she really is under all the lines and flirtations and realize she’s making a mistake with Jayley.Of course these aren’t things she stresses about all the time. They’re small, normal, human fears that crop up during waves of anxiety. They’re good fears, I think. It’s proof that she’s progressing.
