A 47-year-old man charged with kidnapping 9-year-old Charlotte Sena at an upstate New York park and allegedly holding her in the cabinet of a camper he lived in next to his mother's home has been identified by authorities.
Craig N. Ross Jr. is being held without bail Tuesday morning at the Saratoga County Correctional Facility on a charge of first-degree kidnapping, according to jail officials.
Charlotte was abducted from the Moreau Lake State Park in Saratoga County, New York, on Saturday evening, according to New York State Police. She disappeared around dinnertime on Saturday, while out riding her bike in the campground alone, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said.
The girl's family and other campers went looking for her, and her mother found her bike around 6:45 p.m. Saturday and called 911, police said. An Amber Alert was issued for the missing child Saturday night and an intense search involving up to 400 local, state and federal law enforcement officers was conducted at the sprawling park.
Hochul said at a Monday night news conference that the big break in the three-day search for the missing girl came early Monday morning, apparently from the suspect himself. At 4:20 a.m. a car pulled up to the Sena family’s home and what turned out to be a ransom note was left in the mailbox, Hochul said.
State police had been guarding the home while Sena’s parents were still at the campsite and discovered the note, Hochul said. They found a fingerprint that was later linked to a DWI from 1999 in Saratoga, the governor said.
Following what Hochul described as more research and detective work, officials located a double-wide house where the suspect’s mother lived and learned that Ross was staying in the camper behind the residence.
"After some resistance, the suspect was taken into custody," Hochul said.
Charlotte was immediately discovered in a cabinet, the governor said. The fourth-grader was found in "good health," according to police. "She knew that she was being rescued. She knew that she was in safe hands," Hochul said.
Hochul added, "She'll be going home. That's the story. Charlotte will be going home."
Authorities notified her parents at 6:32 p.m. ET.
"We are thrilled that she is home and we understand that the outcome is not what every family gets. A huge thank you to the FBI, the New York State Police, all of the agencies that were mobilized all of the families, friends, volunteers," the Sena family said in a statement.
Ross of Ballston Spa, New York, has been charged with kidnapping in the first degree, an A-1 felony.
Following his arrest, Ross was questioned at the New York State Police barracks in Latham, New York, and then arraigned at the Milton Town Court. Details of the suspect's interrogation were not released.
Additional charges are anticipated, officials said.

Empress, for those that want to to get real tin-hatty (well it may not be far off) have your anons research The Portland who is owned by HCA Healthcare in the US (who are SUPER shady — like their legal troubles are documented). Look up HCA’s SVP and Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer Kathi Whalen and her relationship (nay) tenure with Sara Latham.
No wonders Archie’s birth announcement was sketch. I’m convinced there’s a connection here.
I vaguely remember all of this being discussed from around the time of the alleged birth.

Charlotte Sena kidnapping suspect Craig Ross Jr. arraigned overnight
Tumblr media
Man Accused of Kidnapping 9-Year-Old Girl in Saratoga Springs In a startling turn of events, a 46-year-old New York man named Craig Ross Jr. has been arraigned on first-degree kidnapping charges. He stands accused of abducting a 9-year-old girl from a bicycle trail at a state park near Lake George. This incident unfolded around 3 a.m. on Tuesday, as per jail records. Governor Kathy Hochul disclosed during a late-night news briefing that the suspect came to the authorities' attention due to his fingerprints on a ransom note. State police reportedly witnessed him placing the note into Charlotte Sena's mailbox at approximately 4:20 a.m. on Monday. The records from the jail indicate that Ross was brought into custody at the Saratoga County Jail in Ballston Spa, New York, at around 3:40 a.m. Unfortunately, a mugshot of the accused was not immediately available. State and federal tactical teams sprang into action on Monday evening, raiding a camper situated behind his mother's double-wide trailer in Milton, just outside Saratoga Springs. Rescue Operation and Reunion Governor Hochul provided an update during a news briefing in Latham. She shared, "Within the camper, they located the suspect. After some resistance, the suspect was taken into custody, and immediately the little girl was found in a cabinet, covered. She was rescued." Following her rescue, Charlotte was taken to a local hospital, where she was joyously reunited with her family. At the time of the governor's statement, Ross was still under questioning, and court documents were not yet accessible as it was before business hours on Tuesday. Rejoicing in the Safe Return "We are just elated she came home," expressed Jene Sena, Charlotte's aunt, during an interview with Fox News Digital on Monday evening after the arrest. This remarkable development brings an end to a harrowing ordeal that unfolded in the serene vicinity of Moreau Lake State Park. We'll continue to monitor this story for further updates. Letters to the Editor — May 30, 2021
Tumblr media
Classroom truth Excellent editorial, “Mulgrew’s New Lies,” which was spot on (May 20).
As a substitute teacher at a New Jersey high school, I recently supervised classes approximately two-thirds full while the remaining third was taught virtually via Zoom.
This procedure gives the options for parents to decide, rather than having the government take total control. United Federation of Teachers head Mike Mulgrew’s allegation regarding air-circulation quality is untrue, as windows were open in addition to functioning standard ventilation ducts.
The school was adamant about wearing masks, making sure noses were covered, which I, also, noticed in hallways and everywhere else.
When I asked students about returning to class, I did not hear one regret. Open the schools and at least give parents the option.
Matthew Pease Demarest, NJ
Subway slash fix The rash of stabbings, slashings and shoving of individuals onto the tracks in the subway could be stopped almost completely if the police began arresting farebeaters (“Subway Is Under Assault,” May 27).
I would guess that nearly 100 percent of the culprits in these incidents didn’t use a MetroCard to get into the system.
Straphangers who are paying their way and becoming increasingly concerned for their safety, as well as those who have stopped riding the subway out of fear that they will be attacked, should start telling their public officials that they are neglecting their duties and putting their constituents in needless danger by not allowing the police to enforce complete compliance with the rule that you have to pay your way to ride the subway.
If they do, they may help end this scourge of violence that affects New Yorkers from every borough and neighborhood.
Michael Brucella Brooklyn
Apology flop I am not surprised by the shallow, phony, pathetic excuse of an apology sent by this biased, bigoted principal (“Principal’s apology for e-mail blast,” May 25).
In what she purports to be an apology, Brooklyn principal Amanda Bueno calls herself a person who is fighting for social justice and for the oppressed.
Any teacher or subordinate, Jewish or otherwise, who is known to disagree with her stand can never feel comfortable professionally while working under her.
If she had called out Black Lives Matter or other such organizations, she would have been suspended and at the very least demoted and/or transferred.
Indeed, many pedagogues in this country have suffered such a fate, even when they didn’t use their office as a soap box. I call for her immediate suspension, pending a possible hearing for her removal or demotion.
Samuel Mark Hempstead
Albany’s downfall My high-school (and for a brief time college) classmate Bob McManus is correct that Albany has only its past and no future (“Bloody Capital,” PostOpinion, May 25).
When Mayor Kathy Sheehan, who had stated that she would only serve two terms, didn’t get the call from the Biden White House, she decided to campaign for a third term. She is the epitome of “woke.”
While the high level of shootings goes on for the second straight year, she is more concerned with putting more bicycle lanes on city streets and for turning an arterial highway exit into a “skyway park.” I’m glad I haven’t lived in the city since 1965 or worked there since 1997.

#ChicagoMed S5, Ep. 1 "Never Going Back to Normal" Season Premiere #ChiHards #OneChicago #ChicagoWednesday
Chicago Med returned with a season premiere that had shock value but also twists and even a farewell to remember. Be warned there will be spoilers! Here's a recap!
We pick off seconds from the season finale with Will waking up Natalie, who's suffering from a head injury, rushed to Med where we meet Dr. Marcel, who takes over Natalie's care. As Marcel works on Natalie; Will is taken but isn't being a good patient. But Philip gets there worried about Natalie and tells Marcel that Natalie is his fiance; even without the ring on her finger. More to come later.
Meanwhile, as everyone comes in, April and Ethan learn from a pregnancy test that she's not pregnant. But they take care of a young boy, who's suffering from losing his eyesight. After running some test they believe it's neurological and gets a consultant about it, which turns out to be a small tumor. It wasn't until Ethan goes over the history on his patient that it could be something else; which in fact it happened to be a hyperthyroid and the kid ended up not having surgery.
While covering overtime, Dr. Marcel teams up with Dr. Charles who takes on a patient who's suffering from schizophrenia. The issue comes down to explaining the seriousness of the illness to the patient's grandmother, who believes she can take care of him. Dr. Charles talks to the grandmother, who later comes to understanding. Also, even though Charles' honeymoon was postponed, it seems like it's still on after the day.
Maggie gets a biopsy; which soon proved that she's got breast cancer, but she's decided to take treatment at another hospital but wants to keep working. Goodwin disagrees with that idea.
As Conner tries to help with Will;  Atwater questions him about his father's death that seems to point to him, thanks to Ava. As Conner confronts Ava about the situation, Dr. Latham sees him being aggressive with her and soon a file of compliant was formed with the HR department. That was until Latham confronts both Ava and Conner about looking back at the logs to see who ordered the insulin. Soon, Ava and Conner talk and Ava admits to him that she did it but pulls one last trick, slicing her neck with a surgical knife. Ava dies on the table and that leads Conner to leave Med for good.
Conner confronts Latham about leaving and thanked him for everything but Latham also thanked Conner too. There was one more person that he thanked and that was Goodwin; who confronts him about leaving and the two gives a very heartfelt goodbye too.
As for Natalie, she'll be okay, even though she suffered a loss of memory about what had happened. Philip uses her injury to his advantage that they're engaged (that sick dude!).  Will believes that's probably what Natalie was going to tell him when she got in his car.
"Never Going Back to Normal" was a fantastic season opener that not only gave us some sad and shocking goodbyes but also a nice welcome to a new staff member. Dr. Marcel seems like a smooth doctor but I can't wait to see what he brings to this hospital. I sure believe Will will be suffering even more from this event and I'm guessing that Philip will be telling Natalie that it was all Will's fault. Seems like having a baby isn't out yet for Ethan and April. Kathy Baker gives a wonderful performance as the grandmother of the patient that's suffering from schizophrenia. Good strong writing with character development and even strong performances from Colin O'Donnell, Marlyne Barrett, and Norma Kuhling. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Chicago Med Wednesdays at 8/7c on NBC.

A frenzy of emotion: The ballad of a family with a toxic parent
**This post jumps in time a bit, and picks up on an ongoing story of manipulation, counseling, and outright narcissism. It begins in February, 2016, following the infamous Barnes family trip to Florida.**
Feb. 16, 2016 - Blame is being handed out in abundance; to every sibling, a father, relations to in-laws, and I’m sure Obama has something to do with it as well. It’s been 43 days since “the Florida incident” occurred, but it continues to be dredged up anew. Flurries of texts, emails, snide voicemails, quick “whatever”-like responses, and threats have been poured onto my wife and her 2 closest sisters like the slime from Nickelodeon’s old show You can’t do that on Television.
The problem here isn’t that Vanessa was blunt when asking her mother to stand down while she was diffusing the situation with our oldest daughter; the problem is that her mother requires every decision have her input and/or approval. In this instance, it was neither warranted nor requested. That was when the teapot began to shout.
For my part in the story, it started when I asked Vanessa to move in with me a little more than 10 years ago. As a matter of fact, I believe it was mid-January, so 10 years and a month now. I looked back and found an old email I had written to her parents when she “ran away” to move in with me (Vanessa was 22 at the time). It talked then of how her mother was too controlling, and didn’t give her any options for where her life was going to lead. A common theme in this family.
As happens with young couples after moving in together, in October that year (yes, 9 months later) we had Sophia, or first daughter. We were married in July that same year in Latham Park, a pretty rose-garden in Sioux City, by my uncle Judge John Ackerman with my Mom and step-dad, Dennis, and my grandfather and his wife Kathy. We had invited Vanessa’s family, but even after 6 months, her mother did not approve; and being a devout Catholic family, they also disapproved of it being held outside of the church. Their excuse, however, was one of the lamest I’ve ever heard. Rather than address their dissent, Tina told Vanessa “Theresa has a dentist appointment that day, and you know how hard it is to get those”. When losing control of another person, I suppose a slight is the most political method of showing your malcontent.
Regardless, this toxic pattern of stomping her feet when not getting her way and attempting to lord money over our heads continued for several years. Tina would help financially when it suited her will for Vanessa (like when paying for textbooks, Vanessa’s car payments, or later when she agreed to compensate Vanessa for her loss of salary when she wanted to go to school), but would inevitably use it as leverage to try and make Vanessa feel guilty for disagreeing with her or not visiting enough. More recently, it’s been about not calling her adult siblings enough, who by the way still live with her and don’t have their own transportation or cell phones.
Aug. 14, 2017 - Fast-forward now, 18 months into the future, and the blame continues to be served up in both large and small portions. Professional psychology services are getting their share, helping the sisters cope and make sense out of apparent madness. She acts like a siren from the Odyssey, sending notes of love, stories of family, and occasional glimpses of sanity. Then, without warning or a notion of causality, her poisonous words lash out, reminding everyone why diplomacy keeps failing and the battle rages on.
Vanessa came to terms long ago (last year seems like a lifetime) with the knowledge that her mother is an unhealthy influence on our lives. All communication lines were severed, people were "unfriended" and blocked, and sides began to be taken. Tina chose to rally what sides of the family might listen to her rants against her insubordinate daughters, whom she saw as being disrespectful and out of line. The three oldest siblings, each of whom has a professional career, obviously were out of control and must be dealt with and saved from themselves.
July 30, 2019 - Access to Tumblr restored after hacks and things. I can now finish this extensive post. Generally speaking, the three oldest sisters in the family have all come to terms that their mother is poison, won’t change, doesn’t want to apologize, and also cannot be completely eradicated from their lives. Packages of junk from Wal-Mart are sent periodically to the grandkids, some of it useful, most of it unwanted crap.
I can’t say everything is great, but it’s certainly much better. We have our own holiday get-togethers separate from the two youngest siblings and the toxic parents. The three oldest sisters have now had vacations of just them, to bond. The saga will continue to play out, but it’s definitely improving.
