Some of my friends sent videos and pics of their Easter bonfires (a Western Finnish tradition) and I wanted to be there so baaaaaad!!! Just watching all the snow gradually melt and form tiny little streams that glimmer around the bonfire is just so 👌👌👌👌 My roomie was back home and apparently there was a huge thunderstorm too over the weekend?? Like a total armageddon tier thunderstorm even tho it was like 3 °C (37 °F) outside????

I honestly can't tell between romantic attraction and being besties but if you ask teen me it's when someone gets enough points on a list of attractive features (like living in the same country, having emo hair and liking cats) you use to evaluate them and based on that you can accept their confession and start dating.

Here's one example of those lists that you can literally carbon-date to be from 2012 based solely on the usage of the term "swaggot". I was about 12-13 years old.

I think these were more like points I'd prefer to find out before accepting rather than an absolute test that you'd have to pass to get a good grade in "ok I'll start dating this guy". I mostly follow edutainment youtubers, my faves being channels like Tom Scott, Miniminuteman and Ben G Thomas, but I'd like to pick something outside of that scope:

GeoWizard

He's a GeoGuesser nerd who just aces the games as if it was no big deal, can pinpoint the precise locations of his patreons' pictures ( granted that they're taken outdoors) and does cross-country walking as a hobby. I really like his straight line missions where he walks across countries in a straight line. Deviation of 25 meters is allowed because you know mountains and shit. If he was a lizard or something he would pull it off in a total straight line I think.

He also does things like crossing cities without using roads and I think it's fascinating how many pretty places you can find among abandoned railways or sewage gutters!

He's just the kinda dude that can identify a country based on how the road is painted, but will happily walk into a bog and then get surprised about almost turning into a bog body <3

at 10:38 he's just like "uuuggghhh a muddy little puddle again :///" not exactly being aware that he's about to turn every kid's fear of quicksand traps into a reality for himself

8. any reacquiring dreams?

I don't have any specific recurring dreams but I have lots of locations, characters and other stuff that get repeated so often it's like my brain just has run out of fresh stuff????

Locations like huge malls that somehow morph into weird concrete cities the moment I forget I am in a mall are a common one alongside with my elementary school yard for some reason. Also boreal forests and long roads crisscrossing those forests.

Common themes are world ending apocalypses and making new friends in said apocalypses.

And a recurring character is the cream colored Nintendogs chihuahua

I own like 2 or 3 nintendogs games and I never adopted a chihuahua puppy in any of them I think??? Still, this bitch is my most betrusted and beloved brother in arms in most of my dreams. A true bro from the heart and soul. They most often occur in dreams set in cities.

This may be weird but I want to wear a bikini. Nothing's really stopping me but I'm just too wimpy to wear one!! Everyone who wears bikini usually has rather small breasts and I would feel weird breasting boobily on a beach

25. fave season and why?

Summmeeeeerrrrr!!!! Idk why but I'm constantly cold and really enjoy when my shitty apartment heats up to around 35-40°C (95-104°F) and I finally don't have to dress up as a human burrito in ten thousand blankets.

The sun also doesn't really set and the sky is usually a neat pale lilac color at around 2 am. The birds sing pretty much 24/7 and it's really nice! Up until you have to go to bed.

27. any nicknames?

I mostly prefer the one in my desc, Kana! Just last summer when my coworkers asked if I have a nickname (since everyone uses those because the parents of the mainly 40-60 year old dudes there weren't really creative with names) and I had to learn the hard way that Kana, which translates to chicken, is a slang for "stupid woman" 😭😭😭😭😭 One of them still refuses to call me Kana!!!! I just think it's hilarious, especially combined with my nick here: "bedsheet chicken" which apparently technically also means "stupid slut" or "bimbo" when you really think about the connotations.

Most of my mom's friends call me CCR since I was named after the Creedence Clearwater Revival band

The band makes the most boomer type mysic ever lmaoooo

Honestly it's hilarious how dads in their 60s to 80s that base their entire personality on testosterone and manliness go apeshit ham for the most "crusty 13 year old boy they found in the sewers" looking vocalist

And it's really cute! Their comments in youtube comment sections are the most adorable things ever. Go grandpa!!! (or grandma!!!)

1 - Totoro (1988)

Totoro is just a total comfort movie for me. I spent most of my early childhood with my mom in the hospital and I played a lot in the nearby woods, so it reminds me of my childhood a lot.

2 - Max Max: Fury Road (2015)

It's not even nowhere near my fave movie but it's just so much fun to watch and it's over so quickly too

The Flying Luna Clipper (1987)

I've been meaning to make more gifs of this movie but I always just end up staring at my screen head empty style and only snapping out of it when the end credits roll

28. do you collect anything?

I don't think I do? I'd be really interested in collecting anime figurines but my fave anime don't really have any merch and if they do I should have been out there buying it instead of eating sand at the local playground or worked on that "being born" thing.

I do, however, have way too much little trinkets and the like and should probs get some kinda dedicated vitrine for them.

4. Ginga: Nagareboshi Gin 

A puppy wanting to avenge his father’s death gets buff and gathers an army of ninja dogs to kill a building sized manhunter bear (all this watched in an abysmal quality dub that has like 3-4 people voicing dozens of characters with lines that sometimes sounded like they were run thru google translate 15 times).

I think me watching this as a kid under 10 counts as my Joker origin story. And this one absolutely fuckin slays!!!!! I just started rewatching this the other day and hooolyyyy fuuuuckkk is it still good. This was also my first anime if moomins and pokemon don’t count! Things have gone only downhill from there.

5. My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic

No I think this is my real Joker origin story. And I’m proud of it. I started posting my art online due to mlp fan art being so common back in 2010!

6. Super Dimension Fortress Macross

An alien spaceship crashlands into Earth in 1999 with no survivors on the ship, jumpstarting a new space race for humanity, only for another alien fleet to come check on the ship a decade later and finding humanity going apeshit thinking they’re here to attack. After a series of misunderstandings and an entire human city being teleported to Pluto with the crashlanded ship, they begin a race back to Earth. Realizing that Earth tech is still way inferior to the spacefaring race, they figure out that the only way to win a war is via the love of culture.

For a long time I only watched movies and short stuff with 2-4 episodes max, but I think this series brought me back to longer series. I’ve always been fascinated by stories about a future that’s already come to pass. And I mean this one’s sequel predicted Hatsune Miku and Vtubers so that’s cool I guess?

7. Maniac (the netflix show from 2018)

Psychological drama about two people participating in a pharmaceutical trial for a drug treating mental health problems by altering the participants’ dreams.

The first time I watched and loved a live action show! I watched... uhhh... 2 other live action shows after this and didn’t even finish the other one but maybe someday :3 This one was visually stunning so I guess that’s why I managed to finish it?

8. Simoun

Nonbinary lesbians in clothing so skimpy they should have absolutely no business so high up in the atmosphere having religious and relationship problems trying to solve which one of them has to transition into men so they could be together even as adults because adult lesbians simply do not exist because this came out in 2006. Me and commas are not friends.

You know it’s a small fandom when I can look up the series in the gif search and several of them are my own gifs <3 And you’d be right because there are like 6 people and a napkin in this fandom.

This is my current fave series and it has taught me the humbleness you need in a tiny ass fandom. Fr you can still find my years old art in the most recent posts on tumblr, and I think I deserve to cry :)

But I mean having every single character being trans unless they die before they become adults doesn’t exactly scream marketability so it’s understandable.

1. Computer Dreams (1988)

this fucking thang doesn't have any related gifs showing up in the gif search (fuck you aesthetic bloggers spamming in unrelated fucking tags) so have a youtube clip instead

Computer Dreams is basically just a collection of "latest tech and highest quality" CGI effects and animation from the time it was released. It's narrated by a woman that also had a role in the movie and tv series Max Headroom (gifs below) which was super popular at the time and idk just having a second grade celebrity tossed in just fits the vibe!!

The thing itself is actually pretty educational, brushing over some (very) basic level computer generated imagery tech and explains how the effects are done. There's also a clip made by NASA, showcasing their latest concept of a future Mars rover project and the narrator says that it will one day come true. They didn't even know that they only had to wait 8 more years until the first one was launched and that today we have more little (ok pretty large) critters going all over the place there and I'm just ugly sobbing rn

2. Tron: Legacy (2010)

Continuing with the CGI theme, this is a sequel to a groundbreaking 80s CGI movie, Tron. The original movie is also pretty fun when you start recognizing how familiar all the stuff feels either because they're being referenced in later works, or because there really was just a small bunch of nerds that knew how to do this stuff and ended up accidentally carrying the entire industry on their backs.

Tron: Legacy itself is actually pretty trashy movie but goddamn is it pretty!!!!!

And the reason I'm picking it over the original is because it has Daft Punk in its soundtrack :>

3. Her (2013)

Now that you've probably realized that I'm down bad for CGI, you're ready for a movie about a guy who's down bad for a computer program.
