If yall were to have a kid would you prefer son or daughter
Cole: Kids, huh? I don't think I'd have a preference. As long as they're happy and healthy, and willing to be themselves, that's all that would matter to me. Cole glances over at Hanzo, who has his chin tucked down to his chest with a tense yet distant expression. Hanzo: It doesn't matter what gender the child is...I would not be able to raise them right. How could I? When my own childhood was... Hanzo seems to be on the brink of tears. Cole: Oh, no. Oh, honey, don't cry. Darlin', come here. Cole pulls Hanzo in a warm embrace, stroking his hair a bit. Cole: You're okay. Everything is fine. Hanzo sniffles, visibly struggling to breathe for a moment. Cole pulls away just enough to gently guide Hanzo's chin up for their gazes to meet.
Cole: Hey, Han? Look at me. Breathe with me.
They take a few deep breaths together. Hanzo seems to calm down a bit and he wipes his tears on the backs of his wrists. Hanzo: I am sorry for getting so worked up. I know this is supposed to be for fun, but.... Cole: Listen to me. There's nothin' to apologize for, Hani. You got some complicated thoughts goin' on, and that's alright. But, for what it's worth, I think you'd be a great parent. You know how I know? Hanzo: How?
Cole: Cuz you always think ahead. You prep and plan for things like nobody's business. Hell, do you know how many things I'd forget if you didn't already think of it for us? Hanzo: I suppose that is something I'm good at...
Cole: You know me, I'd lose my damn head if it weren't attached. Besides, it's not like you'd be doing it alone. I'd have my worries too, and honestly I don't think anyone could be the perfect parent.
Cole caresses the side of Hanzo's face with a gentle smile. Cole: But if we worked together, I think we'd do just fine. We always make things work, don't we? Hanzo: We do work well together, that's very true. Cole: And it's a hypothetical of course. Just somethin' to ponder.
Cole puts his hands underneath's Hanzo's to pull them up to place a gentle kiss on each of them before rubbing his thumbs over the tops of them.
Cole: Nothin' to fret about, I promise. Hanzo: Thank you, Cole. I love you. Cole: I love you so much. Forever and always. Kids or not. -- Thanks for the question, Anon! And thanks for being patient while I was out sick. Glad to be back! 💖

How did y’all end up together? Mind tellin the story?
Cole: How me and Hanzo got together. I could sit here all day and talk about every single twist and turn, 'cause there were plenty of 'em. It might surprise ya to know Hanzo and I didn't actually get along at first. Not that we hated each other or anythin' like that. But the first time I even heard about Hanzo was from his brother.
It's hard to not be biased in such a complicated situation. Lots of people thought poorly of Hanzo and what he did, but seein' my own background, I was willin' to give him a chance. The more I slowly heard and gathered about how he grew up….it made me sick, to be honest. He deserved better than what those monsters….
Cole shakes his head, pushing the thoughts away.
Anyway, back to us. Our first mission together was a mess. I didn't realize it at the time, but I was definitely more focused on tryin' to show off and impress Hanzo that I got hurt pretty bad. Obviously I'm still alive, of course! Takes a lot to keep me down, that's for sure. He did visit me in the infirmary, which took everyone by surprise.
It was incredibly difficult getting him to socialize with much of anyone. Even all this time later, he doesn't talk to many people, at least not the way he does when I'm around. He's slowly getting better, with more and more gentle nudges.
Part of the reason I'm doin' all this is to hopefully get him out of his comfort zone a bit and be more adventurous. There's so much more to be said about those twists and turns I mentioned, I'll definitely be talkin' about them in depth in the future.

Who’s the early riser and who’s the night owl?
Cole: I've pretty much always been an early riser. Growin' up on a farm will do that to ya. Hell, lots of days I'd be up before the sun's even thinking about peekin' over that horizon. It's a habit that's ingrained pretty deep. Unless I have a long night partyin' and hittin' the bottle, that is! Then all bets are off.
As for Hanzo, well...let's just say sometimes I'm wakin' up and he hasn't slept a wink. You might think, "Maybe he just woke up before you, Cassidy." But, no. I know him well enough that I know he didn't sleep. Not by his choice or anythin'. Insomnia is a bitch. We're workin' on that. There's a lot we're workin' on, but ain't nothin' wrong with that.
Thanks for the question, Anon! 💖

On the topic of Pet Names...
Hanzo doesn't seem particularly amused about sharing, but he does anyway.
Hanzo: Pet names? Hmph, not really. I mostly call him Cass, Cole, or, on occasion, dearest. That's the extent for any pet names or nicknames I use for him.
Cole is visibly excited to talk about this one.
Cole: Nicknames for Hanzo? Oh, yeah, I got loads of em! Let's see... Cole counts on his fingers as he recalls them. Han, Hani, Hani-bear, darlin', dearest, babe, sugar, my love, love of my life...

Do you guys have favorite animals?
Cole: I really like armadillos. Saw a lot of them growin' up, always thought they were neat little critters. Helpful too! I remember having to fight my Paw on that. He insisted they were pests, but they're actually quite good at eating the insects that'll eat your crops.
The ones in Texas don't roll up into a ball, though. Those kinds of armadillos are three-banded and live further south, in Bolivia and southwestern Brazil.
As far as mythical creatures go, Centaurs are pretty badass! I think I'd make a pretty good one myself.
Hanzo: Hmm, my favorite animal…I quite enjoy the tanuki. They keep small social circles, focusing on quality of relationships over quantity. Once they choose a mate, they are monogamous. They have a rather amusing cultural history as well, being trickster gods in Japanese folklore.
Fictional animals…hmm. There's something admirable about the Phoenix. Finding the strength and courage to rise from nothing…it would be a truly magnificent sight to behold in person.

An Important AskYeehan Update: Transitioning Away from Audio
Cole: Howdy, ya'll! We got some important news yesterday, so we need to pass this info along as soon as possible. Outta respect for the original voice actors' wishes, AskYeehan as it currently is will be ending. Anything posted up before now will be staying up so it can still be enjoyed.
Hanzo: We would like to thank every single one of you for your support up until this point. He gives a small, polite bow. It has truly been an honor.
Cole gently nudges Hanzo's shoulder with his elbow.
Cole: Geez, Han, you're gonna get me all choked up over here! It's not like it's goodbye forever. There's plenty more to our stories that we'd love to share with y'all! It'll just be more text based and art focused instead of with audio.
But definitely a huge thanks to ya'll for lovin' this as much as we love doin' it. We'll see you again real soon!
Doing these audios have changed my life in more ways than I realized. While I'm incredibly sad, I have massive respect for Matt Mercer, his work, and the characters he so passionately gives life to, and do not wish to knowingly go against his wishes.
Everything I already had rendered and edited has now been posted. All current asks have been answered, too, so I hope everyone cherishes their replies as much as I do! I'm hoping to continue the blog in text/drawing as mentioned, so please keep those asks coming!
Much love to you all and here's to the future of AskYeehan! 🥂 MelanieAnne

On the topic of Hanzo's struggles...
Cole: Hanzo has a hard time sometimes. He'll do everything he can to make sure that I'm happy and taking care of myself, but he can’t seem to hold himself to the same standard. It's a bit irritating, to tell you the truth. It makes me feel so sad.
He glances off, slumping with a pouting frown.
Having a partner that can't see how amazing and beautiful they are, and that they deserve the world…it can be heartbreaking.
He realizes things are getting too gloomy and he perks back up with a forced smile.
Oh, but uh, don't you worry! On a more positive note, we're working on it! We're working on it. He is getting better, mostly. Just a work in progress. But, then again, ain't we all?
