it's sincerely SO amusing to me that both times we've been at the Tripotentiary mansion, formerly the Consector's mansion, during Weepe's residence, it's mentioned Spahr used to live here. i hope it continues to happen, just do it every single time we're there.
i genuinely love the narrators take every opportunity to remind us that Spahr lived in this place before he got kicked out, but they still haven't told us where he lives now. absolute best choices.

Klar so weit.
Bob: Ehm... Just?
Justus: Ach ja. Peter, stirb nicht dabei!
Peter: *seufzt dramatisch, fasst sich an die Brust und sagt zu Bob* ist er nicht romantisch?
Bob: ...ich glaube, er versucht dich umzubringen.

Listen. The thing about Jonas Spahr is that he somehow collates the most interesting traits of Fjord, Vandran, and Essek into a truly unhinged combination. Like, every trait he has is the hallmark of a wild character on its own, but he somehow has SEVERAL.

genuinely, like, Phineas and Spahr's relationship is just so compelling to me, and one of the most interesting things is how they're narrative complements, they're mirrors even in absentia of one another because they haunt one another.
they're traveling paralleled and mirrored arcs that have the same inflection point. that point even has a paralleled and mirrored construction: Phineas on the ground looking up, Spahr in the air looking down, "Phineas sees Jonas Spahr. But Jonas Sphar does NOT see Phineas."
this moment precipitated both of their current doubts and questions. this is also the point at which their paths diverge, sending them to opposite ends of the universe. they dwell on that moment, on each another. they keep turning over in their minds being abandoned and having abandoned. they're at the center of it for one another. they think about the other but it is reflexive back onto themselves. it all has to do with Spahr, and it all has to do with Phineas—even as the implications of these emotions and doubts increasingly reach beyond that for them.
that relationship divided by a single moment is causing them to take journeys that feel reflective of one another. I wonder (hope, even) if they're going to continue to mirror one another in this way, now that they've both got some big and dire choices ahead of them.
