Since it’s the holiday season…. Here I present to you, some storyboards from the Season 2 R&S episode, Son of Stimpy (Stimpy’s First Fart) by Peter Avanzino. Most of the boards here were cut/trimmed down for time. As the episode itself had a lot of production trouble (one example being the episode took about 15 weeks/3 months in layout and how the post production department screwed over the hand drawn snow effects done at Carbunkle) and was conceived as a satirical parody against the act of pathos. It worked.
Directed by the infamous John K. for Spümcø & Games Animation, Inc
Because people keep asking why John K was not included in Quiet On Set:
It is very clear Quiet On Set was focusing on the live action side of Nickelodeon's shows, since that's where actual children worked and as we sadly know, where a-lot of the predator's were and where the children were put through various forms of hell.
Therefore, John K does not get included since John K worked in the animation side of Nickelodeon's shows- is he still a creep who deserves to be exposed (since its sadly he won't go to Jail ever at this point)? Yes, but Quiet On Set didn't even cover all the shit with Dan (the tag lines at the end of shows like Victorious is absent when they definitely should have been included, given the uh, way those tag lines were done), let alone the rest of Nick's shit, so its likely we could see more exposure documentaries on Nick's shit in the future, especially with more people coming out against Nick, so we just gotta hope John K gets included in the next exposure documentary on Nickelodeon.
Something I find funny as shit in hindsight is the knowledge that, once upon a time, John K, the man who coined the meaningless buzzword that is "CalArts", said all of the then-current male artists must be drawing in the "faggy Cal Arts" style commonly associated with Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network-
And he was saying all of this while he was praising Rebecca Sugar, who would eventually go on to create Steven Universe.
Wonder how he, or the people who still mindlessly regurgitate that term without realizing it was meant to insult Disney and movies like the Iron Giant, feel.
AU wherein john kricfalusi doesn't exist and ren höek is mexican because he's a chihuahua and has an actual mexican voice actor who gives ren a way better voice (with no shitty stereotypes even though it was the 90s lmfao) and also we all had better childhoods
