Can we just talk about the amazing Jennifer Love Hewitt’s career for a minute here?

She ALSO had a singing career (provided songs for the “I Still Know What You Did Last Summer” soundtrack, the “Hunchback of Notre Dame 2″ soundtrack (sidenote: ”I’m Gonna Love You” is still one of my favourite love songs ever), and made a solo album in Australia (anyone remember the song “Barenaked”? I loved that song)

The thing about being a multi-fan following multiple fandom accounts is that sometimes the initial pic or first sentence of a post is like a guessing game.

You’re talking about Steve? Do you mean Rogers or Harrington? Eddie, as in Eddie Munson or Eddie Diaz?

Robin? Is it Robin as in one of my favorite vigilantes or my second favorite chaotic Buckley (because there’s also my fav, Evan Buckley)? When you say Buck/Bucky, do you mean my fav ex-murderbot turned snarky but tired hero or the firefighter hero who adopted a whole platonic husband and child?

Angela Bassett and JLH posts? Is this for 9-1-1 or Black Panther/Criminal Minds?

Sorry I'm hopping on the kate Callahan bandwagon for a second but I was the only one who got a little bit of a gay vibe in the beginning? I think she called Chris (her husband) her partner at one point and of course the gender neutral name Chris. Anyway I got real hyped up thinking "LESBIAN?!?!?!? LESBIAN!!!!!" and then they showed us Ben from Heroes. Which like... don't get me wrong, I don't hate the guy!!! but I really thought we were gonna have an OUT lesbian on the team. I thought I was gonna see JLH be a lesbian and my heart was SO READY TO BURST and then... well... :/

The leather jacket?? Yeah

yes it is, i just recently changed it!!!! omg thank you, im having a great time watching, especially these early seasons. im on season 2 rn and its great! i cant wait to get to see kate one day, so i can have more jlh on my tv screen!!!

#god season 10 is SO far off for me but ill get there….eventually

I loved this design when I saw it, this monogram was created by Joe Le Huquet for his personal brand but what I loved this design was its made by hand aesthetic, the letters in the logo have been given slight imperfections that add character, for example, the base of the L is tilted instead of completely flat and the stems on the H do not sit on the same level. These slight imperfections add a playful personality to the logo that I was really fond of and thought that the outline put around the letters was a great touch as it added order the chaos of the logo. Overall I thought that the design was great the one change I would make would be to swap the positions of the L and H as originally I read the logo as JHL instead of the intended JLH.

Katsy Garcia wordmark

Katsy Garcia’s wordmark is as if you took handwriting from a sharpie and then tidied it up to make it presentable and there is nothing wrong with that I think it looks excellent it gives off a cartoon illustration style as well as making it feel very human in contrast to font logos like Helvetica which lacks personality. The addition of extra lines for flair just add personality to the wordmark, it makes me think that the wordmark might be saying “Ta Da” to the viewer.

Vive Latino 2015 logo

The Vive Latino logo has lots of character but for the sake of monogram research, I will only be focusing on the typography of the logo. The type in the logo is very organic, it is rough around the edges, the weight varies slightly throughout each letter, the letter I in latino is even flipped upside down to serve as the 0 in 2015. Similarly to the Katsy Garcia wordmark it serves to humanise and add character the logo and I think it’s a wise for this type of logo, it’s an event celebrating Latino culture but more importantly it’s an event about Latino people so I think that it is critical to humanise the brand when it focusing on people and their culture because it is so personal to them.

Gweno wordmark

The wordmark for Gweno is one of my favourites finds so far, I love the beveled edges that make up what would be curves, I think it screams that it has a Wacky personality because of how the letters have been tilted, how they all sit at different heights, how the weight changes throughout the letter slightly as if its not intentional and how some letters are a larger scale than others. The entire design is just crazy by lots of details slightly.

HB logo

This HB logo is quite reminiscent of the bubble handwriting that you drew when you were a kid, the personality is childish, playful and youthful. Its blob type looks like it's being inflated, making it narrower in the top and bottom, the making appear like a circle making it more versatile in where it can be used. I think the design is great but it feels as it could only be used to represent your work if you made designs very particular art style so the style wouldn’t be ideal for most.

Ashley Hohnstein wordmark

I wanted to show Ashley Hohnstein work because I saw that she opted to make it look like she created the type using a paint brush because we can see bristle marks at the edges of the type. It’s a great aesthetic detail but it is quite limited in its use because the details become lost when viewing the wordmark in small sizes so it’s not very versatile in where I can be used. That being said it would be great as a variation of an existing wordmark that could be used in situations where the size can be large enough, for example, a hero banner on a portfolio website.
