Having listened to the Graphic Audio full-cast audobook for All Systems Red, it was fun but I have some thoughts about the voice acting and direction. So now I’m just daydreaming about “if I had Billionaire Money I would buy the audio rights to TMBD and direct and produce another full cast audio version with voice actors handpicked and paid lavishly by Me.”

The cast being:

All Systems Red:

Murderbot: Kevin R. Free is the voice of Murderbot to a lot of people. I would think very hard about this but it would be a foundational return to form. However I feel like I want to reach out and find a non-binary VA because it's a niche that's been tragically underrepresented in Murderbot VAs. I joked before about Vico Ortiz playing live-action Murderbot but do they want to try their hand at voice acting?

Mensah: Cecilia Lynn-Jacobs. Voices Captain Lovelace on Wolf 359. Has incredible talent and range and does the Intrepid Galactic Explorer so well.

Pin-Lee: Emily Woo Zeller. An audiobook narrator I've consistently liked.

Ratthi: Stephen Dookie. He plays the part of Polites in Epic: The Musical and he's excellent in a very sweet, upbeat, friendly way.

Gurathin: Sungwon "ProZD" Cho. I'm picturing somewhere in the range of his Miles Edgeworth voice for this.

Arada: Michelle "Vixy" Dockrey. She's a singer not a VA but her voice sounds so nice.

Overse: Tanja Milojevic. Her range is incredible.

Bharadwaj: Rukhmani Desai (Captain Tripathi, The Strange Case of Starship Iris. She has that calm, reasonable, rational, desperately kind character voice she plays well in Starship Iris that I think would go well for Bharadwaj)

Volescu: Zach Valenti. The vibes are right.

Today at #TCMFF, FNF prez  Eddie Muller will be discussing THE RED SHOES with film director Ernest Dickerson prior to its screening, 11:45 am at the TCL Chinese Theatres House 6.

TCMFF film notes:

For decades, young women have been inspired to study ballet by this elegant, romantic depiction of the life of a classical dancer. What started in the 1930s as a biography of Nijinsky for Alexander Korda and a vehicle for his wife, Merle Oberon, eventually became the crowning glory of the Archers, the production company founded by Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger. The latter had been hired to write Korda’s Nijinsky film and was guided toward Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale “The Red Shoes” as possible inspiration. When World War II delayed production and the Kordas’ divorce ended the project altogether, Pressburger bought the rights to his own work and slated it to follow a string of hits he had made with Powell, most recently Black Narcissus (1947).

By that point, the Nijinsky biopic had been forgotten, but the dancer’s mentor, Sergei Diaghilev, served as inspiration for one of the film’s central characters: the tyrannical impresario Lermontov (Anton Walbrook), who refuses to allow his dancers to marry on artistic principle. He has two protégés in the film, the composer Julian Craster (Marius Goring) and the young ballerina Victoria Page (Moira Shearer). He commissions Craster to write a ballet based on “The Red Shoes” and gives the leading role to Page, setting the stage for a conflict in which Page is torn between her career and her love for the young composer.

With its climactic 20-minute ballet, the film had a tremendous influence on other filmmakers, most notably Gene Kelly, who used it as inspiration for his own ballet in An American in Paris (1951). The Red Shoes’s expressive use of Technicolor (shot by Jack Cardiff) and music (by Brian Easdale) inspired generations of filmmakers, including Martin Scorsese, Brian De Palma, Steven Spielberg, and Francis Ford Coppola. The picture even created a fashion trend. In the ‘60s, the Italian glitterati aped Lermontov’s practice of wearing dark glasses constantly, even indoors, a character trait Powell and Pressburger had picked up from Walbrook himself.

I was considering to draw some crack involving Alec before, during and after his (mandatory) morning coffee... then I told @3nigm4art. Their counterproposal? Drawing a full rundown of Alec's life instead. Welp, challenge accepted 😈

As you might have noticed, a few headcanons here. "Shura" is a diminutive of Aleksandr; Alexander's uniform is from the Duke of York's military school; Major Trevelyan is a Royal Marine (because 006 in the Fleming books is one) who's been in Rhodesia and the Falklands among other places; and Alec clearly survived the events of GE...

Ngl, I am particularly proud of how "Redacted" looks. Huge thanks to 3nigm4 for the help with blood, tattered clothes and messy hair on him specifically.

Janus was by far the easiest and most fun to draw. Is it a surprise coming from me, I don't think so.

How do they exist?

Baxter Stockman, a teen genius, spent 22 years (17-39) creating a serum for perfect super soldiers-a classic I know- creating failures upon failures he finally perfected the chemical mutagen. But with the twist of it not working on humans due to something that humans have that ‘lower-intelligence life forms’ don't.

When used on humans they will [insert super painful symptoms] and a clinical death happens.

Baxter Stockman was promoted and awarded from the higher ups-he's now head of the renewed US bioweapons program.

Len - backstory

Putting the unmutated tot len into a tank of water then releasing the mutagen into the tank mutating them into a humanoid baby.

She was treated carefully, due to her being so-new, they tested her with anything possible without harming her. She was kept in a room, alone, being studied from the outside behind see-through mirrors.

As she got older(5) the experiments and studies started to become more often and a little more risky, they started to do more hands on like extracting blood or muscle reaction (they can't take scutes yet).

She got older, again, because they age…

Experiments got worse-like-painful- worse.

Donnie - Backstory

4 years after the creation of Lenna…

An agency (clan) in Japan heard (stalked) about the Mutagen that was perfected, they did a little something (killing) something (torture) getting the components of the mutagen to make their own soldiers.

They wanted a weapon that can be both in land and water, and large in size as well- since bigger weapons are more stronger right?- so they took the idea of a turtle as well. Leatherback sea turtle was their pick, soon or later will be known as V-1-L-0-T Donatello.

After the turtle was mutated, he was young- a baby

But being the smart-ego filled Ninjas they thought it would be best to make the ageing process a little bit faster so they're ahead of the enemy or the very least the same pace of making a weapon

Hey, do any of you guys have some HC for the sides middle names or surnames in human AUs? Because i've been thinking about that recently and i want to share mine:

. Virgil: i HC him as American-italian and for some reason i always imagine him having a super long name. So his actual name is Virgilio, Virgil is mostly a nickname. His full name is "Virgilio Xavier Ricci Webster", also, Roman's special nickname for him is "Lio".

. Remus: I didn't find any names that convined with Remus as a first name that i fully liked. So i am going with "Remus Theodore" or "Remus Alexander". Meybe i'll just make Remus his middle name that he prefers to use over his first name. Also, he and Roman have diferent surnames because i HC them as half brothers who share a mom but have diferent dads. (His surname is Howard)

. Logan: i am going with Gabriel, no reason why, it just sounds nice. His surname is Reynolds. Roman calls him "Gaby" when he wants to annoy him.

. Patton: Jordan, i don't know why, it sounds nice, his full name is Patton Jordan Hardy.

. Roman: his middle name is Harley and Remus HATES it, because he really doesn't like his middle name, he considers it to be an "old man's name" and thinks that Romans middle name is so munch cooler than his. Roman actually likes Remus middle name because he thinks is elegant. I still haven't decided what his surname will be, because i am thinking of making him half japanese but i am having trouble finding a surname that marches his name.

.Janus: I have no idea with this one, mmmmm, let's go with Dario. His surname is Miller. We all know that his canon middle name is "Classy" anyways.

I'll probably change some of those in the future (Exept for Roman, because i love the middle name Harley for him) because i am not 100% happy with how they sound toguether, but is a start. Any suggestions? Tell me your personal HC for the sides middle names and surnames.

And is case you are wondering: Reagan's middle name is Elijah, for the moment is the only one that i like for him.
