how i think mbav characters would react to you asking for their pronouns:

"I use she/her, thanks for asking." She's the only normal one here.

(it's not even that he's in the closet okay he might be but that's not why it's just that he's socially awkward enough to accidentally misgender himself. pronoun circles are hell for him bc his first instinct is to treat it like ice breakers and copy the person before him. one time he got called they/them for like a week because he made the mistake of replying on autopilot. eventually he corrected everyone but the entire time he was like "I sure hope this doesn't awaken anything in me.")

"My pronouns? 519-341-7831. You'll probably have to write them down to remember them, eh?"

he responds with anyone of his self-appointed nicknames. if you ask again he'll go "OHHHH. you can call me ~" and then just names another one off the list. No one knows how to refer to Rory and that's the way he likes it ("vampire ninja will not be perceived"). It also gets people to start using his nicknames, which is a plus. gender euphoria unlocked via being a dumb blond menace.

"She/her. Why? Are you Ethan's friend? Are you gay? Is he gay?"

"How do I know you're not going to use this information to hex me?"

(does not know what pronouns are) "oh, it's pronounced stuh-KOW-skee. with a 'K' sound, not a 'Ch' sound. then it'd be stuh chow skee, and chow is for puppies, and i'm not a puppy, I'm a dog- well, i'm not actually a dog. But if I were, I'd be a dog. like an adult dog. well not like an adult person that's also a dog, but a dog that's grown up. but not like a super big one either that makes you say 'is that a dog fully a dog?' I'd just be like, a man dog. a dog man. wait, that's not what i-"

Why is Jane able to use magic even tho she has no magic users in her family?

I personally always thought it’s because she does have seers in her family and seers are sort of magic in their own right so Ethan can use and practice magic if he wants like Jane but they will never be as powerful as Benny bc he does have full on magic users in his bloodline.

Although it's never explained in the show I want to make a headcanon possibly on the lineage of the Morgan family cause like

Jane can use magic and Ethan is a seer, obviously the parents themselves don't seem to have an ounce of awareness to the weirdness in their world so maybe distant relations played a factor.

Like maybe traits, chance of being born normal or a small percentage of becoming a spellcaster or seer

Maybe I could write about this in the fic 🤔

What if it turns out that Ethan CAN do magic, as well?!

Like, one day he was just messing around with Benny's spell book for kicks and just says some random harmless little spell out of it for fun, not expecting anything to happen because HELLO! HE'S NOT SUPPOSE TO BE ABLE TO DO MAGIC! HE'S A SEER! THAT'S NOT WHAT SEERS DO! And then suddenly POOF! The spell actually worked much to both his and Benny's surprise. So, they immediately go to Benny's grandma for answers.

Turns out, that Ethan DID inherit some magical ability after all. Making him partially a spellmaster/wizard, too. But he can only do small/minor/low level spells, though. Like the one he accidentally cast for shits and giggles earlier. That's because he inherited more of his family's seer traits/power than he did the magic side of it. So, as a result he learns to study magic and how to cast spells that are more in his wheelhouse/at his level, just in case. He doesn't necessarily use his magic side very much because he's more used to being a seer after so long of being one, now. Plus, since his seer side is more stronger than his magic side, he feels more comfortable using it instead. Also, he can still do everything that a regular/fully blooded seer can do, too.

And it turns out that the same goes for Jane, too, but in reverse. She inherited more of their family's magic side than the seer side. So, she mainly relies on her magic side more than she does her seer side. And because the magic side is more stronger in her than her seer side is, she isn't as powerful of a seer like Ethan is. Thus, meaning she can't do everything a seer is supposed to be able to do.

Of course, all of this is found out a few years later, though. When Jane is a bit older and is old enough to start her magic lessons with Benny's grandma. Maybe a few months or about year or two after she starts her lessons, that is. And of course, Jane is much better at her magic casting than Benny is, regardless of the fact that he's had a head start on her for a few years now. Lol! And he's totally jealous of it, too. Lol!
