Hello! If you're new here, please refer to me as "Chai". If we're in a Digimon-specific group I often use "Kari", but that's more of a former penname; not a name I use irl. Some friends may also refer to me using another name/nickname. They are allowed. If you see people using this name, do not assume they do not know, but I do not appreciate strangers using it if we have not met and introduced ourselves, or if you've only spoken to me (in DM or 'via tags' or post replies) once. Please don't do it. Basically, if you're a mutual who has spoken to me through Digimon fandom / or I'm following you, "Kari" is probably fine. "Chai" I started using some years back. Yes, it's actually also a Jewish name, and also the name of my Grandma's Grandmother, so it's not like I'm pulling that name from nowhere... So, please respect this fact. Thank you.

My pronouns are They/Them, especially if you do not know me or have only spoken to me once.It'd be cool if that was respected too. If you have 'trouble using them in your language' I can make accomodations but instead ... I'd appreciate seeing your effort in using them when you're clearly speaking to me in English... Yes, I've been using my old blog to link them, but if I can move the pages over here now, I might, since my old blog is now also glitched with an issue hitting my Drafts page (can't scroll past first 2 pages of literally hundreds of old Drafts there, too) so I'm still waiting for Tumblr to actually get back to me on that.

The end of Summer is a difficult time for me due to many family deaths that have occured over the years in this timeframe, with a string of three anniversaries in a row particularly, and that one includes my Jewish grandmother (the most recent), who passed around a little over a handful of years ago by now. During this period I'm pretty much remembering my family, and I'd appreciate some understanding and compassion. Please do not approach me if you're just going to be extremely rude and/or pushy in general or I'll probably end up Blocking you. I have those rules for a reason. Please actually read them. I get it, some people do not care to read Abouts/FAQs ever, but this is important if you'd like to communicate with me in depth, and I'd appreciate that being respected since you're choosing to Interact. I've gotten a lot of questions over the years and they tend to be repeating, so I include the important questions and resources over there. If you're new to my blog and haven't introduced yourself to me, Honestly, I really do appreciate an introduction (If we share Interests, I also love talking about them!!) But again, please be polite if you do message. Please read the 'F.A.Q' too. I don't mind chatting about any of my fandoms or favorite characters or ships / Special Interests, but I do have boundaries online, and I appreciate those being respected too.

If you're wondering why I never have Anon on, it's because of incidents in the past affecting the Jewish community. (I wish I was kidding.) When I'm blogging or talking via Messages this way, I can sound hyper-formal at times, but outside of such blogging, I may drop the hyper-formality in chats and such. (So I’ve noticed a lot of new ones popping up...)

In the past, a few times, people have reached out to me to ‘Promote’ their events. There are times where I have, (with or without people asking, promo’d them)

but I feel I should make a formal Disclaimer now

If you ask me to participate in your event, unless it is specifically a Koushiro-focused event, (preferably one with a high focus on L.G.B.T.Q.I.A.{P.N.}+ contents/support) my answer will almost definitely have to be “No”.

I wasn’t as vocal about this back in 2k15~2k17 when I started becoming more active in re-blogging (and making my own things), but I am an @utistic creator (using the @ so this doesn’t show up in Search) and a lot of people browsing my blog since definitely know that now. I am very bad at keeping up with events and also not great at producing content / fan-works on a timely schedule, especially with more limited, vague prompts. (I do much better if someone can ask of me say, a full prompt for a fan-work concept, like an A.M.V. set to certain song requests... and that’s usually not what these kinds of events have)

Adding on to the fact I only really feel comfortable writing fic mainly from Koushiro’s P.O.V. first, along with my preference for KouTai (Koushiro/Taichi), which to this day despite all my own contributions to boosting it continues to remain (unfortunately) regarded by the wider Adventure-02 fan-base as very much a so-called ““rarepair””, a lot of other things take a lot of work for me to write fic for even when I’ve tried my best handling other characters at times too.* (*Includes attempts handling the 02 Chosen multiple times since I was younger, up to and including making a literal shrine and 16 chapters/parts long fic for them when I was younger, which is also in heavy need of re-writes, and I never even got to finish it back then either) (*As well as multiple charas from across all the other @nime spinoff series)

I am also Very Much Not An Artist. I do not have any intent on pursuing art (including for fan-works.)

While I can sometimes make A.M.V.s, they take a huge amount of energy out of me and I cannot always finish them the way I ideally want to (often due to Windows Movie Maker, which, yes, I’m still using for reasons, constantly crashing on me if I surpass a certain amount of video clips). It is also extremely hard!!!! to make quality A.M.V.s for ships/charas with limited amounts of screentimes / quality footage to use without heavy manipulating, something which I also very much do not have the skills to do at this time. (I’m good at splicing up scenes, I’m not good at heavy editing!) This is usually why I stick to KouTai as a main focus for A.M.V.s, because Taichi being a prominent main chara (and Koushiro having focus as specifically his support) they have just enough scenes together that I can somehow make A.M.V.s work for them, and even with them I’ve had to splice scenes they had together across multiple series/the reboot too, to “fill out” some past A.M.V.s.

That leaves only gif-sets, and while I’ve tried to compile various things for other charas/ships/series I Iike along with my own Top favs and O.T.Ps/ships, I can only make so much there as well, especially for ships which already didn’t have a lot of huge scenes together. I am honestly more used to (*in the past) rp-ing (roleplaying games/charas) than I am fic-writing, but I do make attempts with Favs whose voices I feel comfortable attempting. And regardless...

So... You can ask me to “promote” your event, POLITELY, and respectfully, and I maybe will (LIKELY if you are genuinely polite and respectful). However, I heavily prefer you read and agree to my About and FAQ before you ask. If you do not, you might as well not ask.

Sorry to have to bring this up, but it’s become kind of an issue recently. I usually feel best contributing to/promoting events where I know, or at least recognize, and respect the OPs. If you’re an Anonymous OP, I will be somewhat more wary, unfortunately also due to people having gotten around blocks in the past (block-evading) without my knowledge, and that was something which really upset me, especially as apparently some other people heavily active here knew they were block-evading. And, despite all my own Yelling Into The Void TM that I do on my own blog/works, I tend to be very shy and (*also due to @utism) socially anxious (*Note: I am also diagnosed with Generalized @nxiety Disorder, because Comorbidities Are Indeed A Thing) around people I don’t know very well or haven’t spoken even once with. It helps if you can introduce yourself to me POLITELY and actually acknowledge my FAQ, my clear favorite parts of the series or aspects of it I support (*the U.S. dub side/fans I also have heavily since the start supported, for example) and acknowledge what I re-blog about most often, my Favs, and my ships.

If you genuinely can’t do any of that, even attempt it before you contact, I can’t join or “Promo” your event. Sorry.

Repeatverse rambles the nth

this dumb series of Digimon Adventure AMVs I’ve been working on / yelling over at times for ... over a year now ?

you all following purely for ships are gonna hATE ME, PROBABLY { i mean I kind of implied this before BUT if you didn’t catch it } ( and also: this has been true. since. the very 1st AMV I ever did for it )

... it’s base is like 99.9999% ADVENTURES/02/TRI CANON COMPLIANCY.

Sure, things like Homeostasis vs Koushiro are definitely not from the canon and come from my own ideas, I admit to that - these events are mainly “ spinoff verses ” that diverge from particular points

But the base is canon, while changing as little as humanly possible. [ the few things I do change at times ( and not always / in every ‘verse ) are - not keeping all sexualities purely 100% Cisgendered Cisheterosexual Straight-identifying, and allowing alternative canon-compliant headcanons to exist ( including numerous variations of these ) + - allowing some alternatively neurodivergent!headcanons to exist, in similar ways [ i.e. Autistic ! KOUSHIRO ] - updating a few of the careers just slightly enough that they’re extremely similar, but not quite 100% exact to the original. i.e. SORA, MIYAKO, KEN particularly ]

... But the base is canon.

The basic premise / idea [& start of the spinoff ‘verses] involves an Original Adventure!Koushiro ( pre epilogue aged ) who basically accidentally screws up the CANON timeline { it’s not completely his fault, that is, but } in his attempt to save it during a “ final battle ”. At first, He does his absolute best to save things while following along the mindset of “ if you interfere with TIME , it’s OVER ” [ i.e. common trope in sci-fi fiction involving timeline shenanigans ] ... but as time goes on and more timelines happen regardless [ y E A H ]

Imaginaton Forest AMV kind of briefly touches upon this with its ending { they actually make it to aN ENDING ?!??? } [ m a y b e ]

Summertime Record AMV is basically the OG!Koushiro (+ later Koushiros) in events where he reaches a “ good end ” ? for himself + in spinoff instances, maybe possibly via alternative timelines, too (OG!Taichi eventually reaches this via similar means too)

Kaien Panzermast x Brave Heart AMV - hELLO I MEAN isn’t that 02 ending right there ?!?? { ok it DOES involve spinoff ‘verses too here but }

but if you go back to the “Imagination Forest” amv well, there is that trolley ... ... ... { oHWAIT , isn’t that the original Adventure ending ----- }

The point being

if you watched any of these / followed my fanworks at all ? + regardless of my own AMV manipulations + additonal added 'verses + regardless of my own spinoff headcanons, ship headcanons etc. + regardless of my OTPs yelling and other favs

the base is canon. You were following a series near 100% with a BASE IN CANON COMPLIANCY regardless of my blatantly non canon ship spinoff ‘verses

Blog PSA regarding Digimon Adventure 2020 spoilers!

( by the way, DigiAdvs 2020 spoiler tags will be listed as,

“ digiadv 2020 ″ “ digiadv 2020 spoilers ” “ digiadv 2020 commentary ”, ” digiadv 2020 caps ”, “ digiadv 2020 gifs ”, “ digiadv 2020 edits ”, ” digiadv 2020 news ”, “ official digiadv 2020 ″ (for official arts), etc. etc. and the like! [ some posts in the past may have also been these tagged “digiadvs” but I’m going to try to keep tagging consistent now ! ]

characters are tagged as “2020 taichi”, “2020 koushiro” etc.; pairs tagged as “2020 taishiro”, “2020 taichi and koushiro” etc. etc.! )

I tend to use spoiler tags only for a couple-few weeks or so. If say three weeks has passed since DigiAdv 2020 ep01 airs I may soon drop using spoiler tags for it, etc. etc. Please be aware! Sometimes I always tag major plot developments ( for example: ending of Tri involving character statuses, etc. ) but I don’t always do especially if all the tags can’t fit along with character/pairing tags and such, so please keep this in mind!

I’ve also basically always had an extensive characters/ships taglist / tagging system (literally since day 1 of me becoming more active) and I really hope you all like ;;; actually use them should you need to for blacklisting come these episodes airing... these tags are there for YOUR sake so PLEASE use them!!

Pre-emptively blocking some people as a precaution, (as some posts of mine have gotten sudden notes again out of nowhere...) Mainly they’re just normal reblogs and typically I’d let those go, but...
