This is one of my favorite #shoujo series and is so underrated because it's just so hard to find (and expensive)! 😭

Izark and Noriko Headcanons!

— Whenever anything related to the other one happens, both of them panic. Intimacy? Panic. One of them gets sick? Panic. The other one is panicking? Panic. But they keep it all inside.

— Speaking of getting sick, when Noriko gets sick, Izark is by her bed 24/7, wiping her forehead with a cool cloth, bringing her books and soup, and just generally quietly keeping her company. He won’t leave the sickroom, so much so that it actually becomes a little annoying. When Izark gets sick, Noriko knows to give him space and let him rest, but makes sure to stay nearby so he won’t become nervous for her safety.

— Noriko is not a very good cook, but she tries her best! Izark would never complain. Regardless, he does most of the cooking.

— Izark and Noriko are both early risers. Izark needs frighteningly little sleep to be able to function, while Noriko will break down on less than 7 hours. This is especially difficult when they are traveling for long periods.

— I think that they both eventually settle in a large seaside village where Izark does local mercenary work and Noriko acts as a secretary. They have at the very least three children together.

— The longer that Izark and Noriko are together, the more handsy Izark becomes. He uses any excuse he can to pick Noriko up: to help her reach a high place, to stop her from stepping in puddles, or just because he feels like it. Noriko only touches Izark mindlessly, and then when she realizes what she’s doing she becomes embarrassed. When Noriko touches Izark on purpose, she’s either extremely determined or extremely nervous.

Re-read From Far Away for the millionth time because I enjoy the art and story. I decided to sketch the main female character one day in procreate. She turned out a bit older looking than I wanted but it is what it is. I still like it.

When I think about writing a good 'breaking' moment for a stoic character I always go to Kanata Kara and baby Izark realizing he can't do anything for Noriko, and it hits so nicely for the reader and even the characters around him, finally acknowledging that he's as vulnerable as any other person.

Man, why didnt I write this manga? Why Izark is not my OC? wanna make it mine so badly TToTT
