I was just scrolling through the blog to see the polls I missed and- NATSU HAS A GIRLFRIEND?? I HAD NO IDEA WHSJSHSJ
Yeah! I feel like a lot of people don't notice because this line is such a throwaway.
Tumblr media
You kind of just assume Fuyumi is teasing but the woman behind him in this chapter cover clearly isn't Rei thanks to the animal (chinchilla?) ears. So it has to be her! I wouldn't be surprised if Natsu has been staying with her to avoid going home on school breaks.
Tumblr media
I really hope we get a better image of her during the series' epilogue or something. She looks so cute!

HELPP I JUST READ "THE ADEPTI'S GUIDE" AGAIN AND IT'S SO GOOD OMG. I was smiling and laughing the whole time. I remember reading it back when I didn't have Tumblr and never thought I'd find it again BUT I PERSEVEREDD
I love your writing, it's wonderful, tysm <333
Also also, this is a bit random but what do you think of Navia? :3
ackk thank you so much i’m glad you loved it. as i always say to anyone who mentions adepti’s guide, it’s one of my fav works and i plan on updating someday, just probably not anytime soon.
and about navia, i love her!! didn’t really have much of an opinion on her when she was first leaked and ppl started calling her taylor swift for some reason. but after doing the archon quests, i just fell in love. i love how she isn’t afraid to cry and how she stood up for herself multiple times, and she had the balls to speak up against neuvillette. i was honestly sad during the first part of the 4.0 archon quest where she asked traveler and paimon to be her partners in finding the missing girls and traveler declined. like, she was so hopeful!! and the way she still treated them to a meal even though budgets are tight. she’s a real one.

I hc that Monoma really doesn't like most children, but kids tend to end up liking 𝘩𝘪𝘮. Monoma can be an asshole to people, sure, and sometimes the intensity is irrational but what he says is rarely 𝘶𝘯𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦.
And what excuse could you possibly give to be mean to a kid?
Children are impressionable and he understands that. So where someone else may try to wave off a child's question by telling them a vague lie, Monoma tries to explain it as well as he can. Where someone may get tired and pull out an ultimatum to stop a child from misbehaving, Monoma tries to explain why to not do that.
He's patient with children and humours their shenanigans and questions- Monoma gets tired of kids really fast, but kids never get tired of him.

Hi hi, what are your thoughts on Silver and Melus? </3
I'm heartbroken and I shall never recover WGDBSNDNJ
I was legit crying alongside Navia at her father's death their deaths hurt so bad 😭😭 and then I teared up again when they defended her from other dissolved members of the Spina di Rosula. Even in their death they were there to protect her it sickens me IT SICKENS ME.
Silver and Melus are forever in my heart but I'm also really curious as to what the new guards will be like. They seem to be really incompetent lol. Would be one great way to show just how irreplaceable Silver and Melus are I guess.

Here me out: Protective Class 1B.
Perhaps Monoma gets attacked by somebody (Bakugo. Because he heard about Neito asking Midoria how he could still smile after causing the downfall of All Might even though he only said it to rile up Midoria or because he’s a just a very loose cannon and narcissistic asshole.) and 1B and Yo find him injured or witness the attack. And they are NOT happy.
Or, alternatively,
Monoma’s over working himself. Like forgetting to eat drink or sleep. Because this guy works hard. Maybe when they ask him about it he just waved them off with a “I’ll eat/drink/sleep in a little bit”. And 1B trusts him but tell each other to look out for him/try to convince him to eat/drink something. (They drag Yo into this too. Well, more of make him aware that something is super wrong and that he needs to check up on Neito and, if needed, jump into protective older friend/brother figure mode. Which he doesn’t get to do a lot so he’s excited but wishes it was in different circumstances. Please I beg.)
Maybe when Neito’s called downstairs for a intervention for a collective meeting consisting of 1B, Shindo, and Shindo’s class. And half way down the stairs he just….fucking passes out. Like full on ragdolls down the stairs breaking multiple ribs and getting very concussed with everyone trying to stop, grab him, and break his fall.
He ends up waking up in the infirmary very confused and in a cuddle pile:
Monoma: Where tf am I???
Everyone who cares about him: The infirmary.
Monoma: That explains literally nothing.
Them: You passed out and fell down the stairs and got attacked by Bakugo.
Monoma: What??? Why??
Them: That’s what we‘d like to know as well. But we took care of it so don’t worry :)
Monoma, feeling very put on the spot and kinda scared because holy shit they are all very serenely smiling at him: 😓
Also Monoma: Why would I ask you guys if I knew??? And what the fuck do you mean by ‘you took care of it’????

He was a prince, after all.
Oneshot inspired by this post made by @probablybadmonomaficideas <33
Tumblr media
Aizawa exhaled softly as he glanced outside the window of the common room. The teachers' living quarters were especially tidy today. The dog was in its dad's room. The weather was fine. Mirio and Izuku were (unfortunately) on the premises. Eri was happy as well. The grass looked okay.
Perhaps he should touch it to make sure…
He glanced unhappily at his cup, wishing he'd made more coffee. It was a bit too cold outside, perhaps- no. He couldn't- 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥𝘯'𝘵 keep making excuses.
The prospect of Eri meeting the boy made him a little nervous. Distressing her wouldn't do. Vlad had assured him-rather aggressively-that he was gentle and kind, but Aizawa would believe it when he saw it.
Monoma Neito wasn't 𝘩𝘪𝘴 student, after all. He didn't know much about him (he'd only witnessed Neito's personality properly during the Sports Festival) and besides, Vlad was prone to favouritism.
Was the grass really okay? Sh!t, he was running out of excuses. Eri glanced up at him uncertainly, then turned her attention to her drawing once more. She was a nervous child and unfortunately often saw herself as a bother, consequently refusing to ask questions.
"Yes?" he enquired, in the gentlest voice he could muster. "Is there something you needed, Eri?"
She looked up again, pursing her lips a little. He tried to look gentle. It was a little difficult- years of maintaining a poker face (it was just a perpetually exhausted face, really) were a little difficult to undo, but he knew he had to try for the child.
"...You said we would be meeting someone?"
Aizawa valiantly held back a sigh. "Yes, we are."
***
"Don't forget to behave~" Setsuna playfully taunted as Neito adjusted his jacket. "You're so 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘯, after all, such a 𝘴𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘺-"
"Shut up," he huffed and she cackled. "That's enough out of you-"
"The dark side of Yuuei?" She interrupted. "He really said that?" Her head bobbed earnestly up and down with the question.
"Yes," he grumbled. "And the kid was in... an... she wasn't in the best situation before, so I'm a little uncertain." Licking his lips nervously, he glanced down at his shoes, but quickly straightened up again. "I wonder if she'll be comfortable enough in my presence."
"Dude, it's okay," she chuckled. "I'm just messing with you. You'll be fine, and those two will be there too."
Neito wrinkled his nose, but couldn't hold back a smile. "Ah, yes. Class 1-A's destructive little demon. Honestly, you know what I think? I think he's too nice. He's obviously a serial killer."
"Go forth then, slayer of evil!" Setsuna's head somersaulted through the air towards the door. She pressed down on the handle and it swung open, letting in a cold gust. Kamakiri screeched and tripped over Setsuna's detached legs, landing in Tsuburaba's lap.
Setsuna snorted at them (as though she weren't the cause of the mess), then turned to Neito once more. "I wish you luck, warrior!" she teased.
He laughed and answered in an equally mocking tone. "You have my thanks."
***
"I know what you are!"
Neito blinked rapidly at the child. Eri had shrunk behind Mirio as soon as she'd seen him (Neito's heart had shrunk with her) before gasping and running at him suddenly. Now she stood before him, shyness and anxiety painfully visible on her face, along with... excitement?
"Oh ho ho?" Neito knelt before her slowly, seemingly amused. "What am I?"
In truth, he was a little afraid of the answer. If it was something bad…
She leaned forward, her arms lifted slightly like a bird about to take flight. Now she looked excited-𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘺, even.
"A prince!"
He choked on air, losing his composure for a moment before quickly steadying himself. A 𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘦? He hadn't seen 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 coming.
"I- pardon? You think I'm a prince?"
"Yeah!"
Neito felt something warm seep out of his chest into the rest of him. He wrestled back a smile. A prince? Really? He knew he was well groomed, but what else could have caused her to perceive him as such? Him, a prince? Shouldn't it be that Midoriya, since he rescued her?
A mote of a smile escaped him and shone on his lips. Whatever, who was he to argue? This just made his job easier.
He smiled.
"That's quite a guess," he said lightly, trying not to let the sudden affection he felt escape through his voice. "Let us go inside, however. Such matters should be discussed indoors, where you can stay warm."
Nodding, she ran back to Mirio, who hefted her up and opened the door to carry her in.
Her quirk turning out to be a blank was a little disappointing. He was helpless- he couldn't be of use to Aizawa. He tried to not sound too apologetic-it wasn't his fault, after all- but he struggled with his thoughts all the same. Once they entered his mind, they lingered like a miasma. They were a little difficult to get rid of.
Not today, though. The memory of Eri adorably waving her hand and diffidently yet enthusiastically, telling him to take her on an adventure next time fought those thoughts away easily enough. He was a prince, after all, and princes were strong.
***
Aizawa's shoulders relaxed as he watched Monoma click his tongue gently and wrap Eri's scarf around her neck securely. As much as he hated to do so, he confessed (only to himself) that Vlad (for once) had been right.
It had only been a few weeks since Neito and Eri had met, but she seemed to trust him a great deal. Neito was cautious, respectful of her boundaries and full of random bits of knowledge that Eri seemed to adore. They were out on a walk and somehow the school's familiar, boring premises had turned into something filled to the brim with wonders.
Neito had pointed out several different species of birds to her so far, and was currently engaged in telling her about how intelligent crows were.
"Really?" Eri's eyes were wide with fascination.
"Yes. They also care about each other immensely, warn each other about danger, tell each other where food is and even nurse their fellow crows back to health! They're very smart. And oh- look there! What do you see?"
Eri turned around, frantically searching for what his finger pointed at. "The pigeon?" She asked, a hint of scepticism in her voice.
"Mhm."
"What's so special about pigeons?"
He grinned at her. "They have excellent pattern recognition skills."
She frowned a little at the complex words. "What does that mean?"
"It means," said Neito, his grin widening, "that they can be taught to read!"
Eri gasped as he laughed, then continued to explain what he meant. He was never so soft when someone from class 1-A was around, but allowed himself to relax before the teachers.
Aizawa allowed himself to smile a little as he remembered the time Neito and Eri made apple tart together. Neito had resolutely prohibited her from even coming close to anything remotely dangerous, but had let her do smaller tasks to help him as he did the actual cooking. He'd written down the ingredients and recipe on a piece of paper in simple letters that she could understand, and had asked her to read it out to him.
"It's 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 important that you tell me the recipe correctly," he'd declared. "It's vital that I receive the correct instructions. It's alright to take your time to read it- in fact, that's great because it gives me time to prepare for action. But you 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 to say it in the correct sequence, okay?"
She'd proudly done as he had asked, and well- the resultant tart was excellent.
Aizawa would never have thought Neito to be so thorough with his plans. He'd boosted Eri's confidence in her reading skills and made her feel as though it were a very important job, even though he likely knew the recipe by heart. It had been a brilliant move on his part, and every sentence had been tailored to fill her with confidence. Small things like these had massive impacts, and the result was visibly positive. He was good at this. He seemed to be good at everything, really.
He 𝘸𝘢𝘴 a prince, after all.
A/N: i shuckin hate Tumblr, it keeps doing absurd things to this post. I'm having to?? Repost it?? Get your act together Tumblr, I had difficulty posting this to begin with and now visibility problems ;-;
Tumblr's shenanigans after all my efforts despite not having written in a while make me want to (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻
Anyway, it was fun writing this, but please don't mind any mistakes because I didn't get much time to edit it, I mostly just skimmed over it really fast and smoothed over any mistakes I found :')
And my apologies to @probablybadmonomaficideas, I told you I'd post it in a few hours but I'm having trouble </3
As for the apple tart episode... Expect me to write it sometime ;)

I have like 2 questions lol
Do you have any childhood Monoma hcs
What in the ever loving toast crunch is a "Spiral Cat"?
Anon, two hours after you sent this ask, I had half my answers typed out. A plethora of hcs. I giggled to myself as I tapped away. There was a wine glass filled with cranberry juice in my hand. (That was a lie. It was a normal glass with guava juice.) I was happily sniggering and wondering how I'd explain what a Spiral Cat is (is the name not explanation enough? It's a Spiral Cat/j) when something truly dreadful occurred- someone called my name.
I looked up, smiling, my phone in my hands. "I got you a new candle!" They said. I gasped, delighted.
I cleared the tab.
AFSHJSSKSKSK FORGIVE ME, HORROR SLOWLY DAWNED ON MY (BEAUTIFUL/J) FACE AND I STARED, APPALLED. THE LIGHT WAS SUCKED OUT OF MY EYES. MY SKIN TURNED SALLOW. MY BONES TURNED TO DUST.
I procrastinated after that, sorry agsjsjsnsk. Anyway, here you go!
Monoma was one of those kids who tried to act really grown up and it came off as just alarming and/or funny sometimes. He tried to use big words and sometimes either didn't know what they meant, or butchered them- you can guess how that turned out 💀. It's a habit that he didn't really grow out of.
I feel like Monoma really clung on to things that had little value to others.
He wouldn't let his parents discard dying plants, torn clothes, chipped vases or the like. "The plants can get better! The vase looks okay when you turn it this way! I can wear this shirt when I play in the sand!"
He'd get so distressed when they tried to argue that they'd relent every time.
As a result, current Monoma's room back home is completely cluttered with old things. The number of cupboards and drawers is ever increasing, but he refuses to part with any of it.
A handkerchief belonging to a friend-turned-bully. A broken fountain pen that used to belong to someone who was a friend before she moved away. Old notebooks filled with silly drawings and stories. His (now deceased) cat's old collar and toys that he refuses to let the current one use. A half painted vase. A stained friendship band.
Monoma had trouble retaining friends. He 𝘮𝘢𝘥𝘦 them easily enough, but it was difficult to connect with him and they'd usually find someone they got along with better and slowly leave.
As a result, he got along well enough with everyone, but there were no actual, close friends in the picture and nobody to defend him when he really needed someone to. It got a little lonely sometimes. Until it didn't, because-
"It's just bread! Moron!"
A cat. 𝘛𝘩𝘦 Cat. It was an ugly tabby with claws and teeth that were too long, and fur that was too matted and dirty, and a hiss that was far louder than any he'd ever heard before. Everything about it was "too much-" her eyes were too dark, too cruel, she was too plain, too aggresive-
Cats scared Monoma, but for this one he felt nothing but pity.
"I got you bread, Tsundere. What- stop with the face. It's bread. B-R-E-A-D."
He didn't quite understand what trauma was, but he figured it looked something like this.
He never really managed to domesticate Tsundere, and even though he gave in to his parents' wishes and agreed to gymnastics and french lessons, he wasn't allowed to bring the cat into the house unless it rained or snowed.
The cat didn't care about such trivial human boundaries. It was their fault- why leave the windows open?
Tsundere, at this point, was too used to being called Tsundere and refused to respond to any other names.
She hated being touched too much and really was a Tsundere, but when Monoma was sick- it really wasn't too bad- she panicked, was inconsolable and remained pressed against his side, purring and trying to make him feel better. She did not make a move to eat for hours, not until Monoma forced her.
She died two years later (she was old) and it was Monoma's turn to be inconsolable.
Is this how you write hcs I've never actually done this before
Moving on
Monoma watched a lot of Ghibli movies when he was very smol, so most of them flew over his head
He really loved the aesthetic, though
He wanted to dress up as Howl for Halloween, but where could you find a Howl costume for a seven year old? Perhaps if you tried-
His grandmother cackled and dressed him up as Calcifer. He still has the costume.
I honestly feel like his parents were physically very present, but emotionally quite absent in his life. They were also overwhelmingly pragmatic sometimes.
"Consider it, Neito. It may never work out. You cannot become a hero with your quirk."
They never really taught him to socialize, or to differentiate between right and wrong. He had to navigate those waters largely on his own.
As a result, some relationships (platonic or otherwise) were pleasant, some were painful and some were just bland. All of them were learning experiences, though.
He has ADHD. He doesn't know it. His middle school teachers brought it up to his parents, who dismissed it with a flick of the wrist and "it's alright, he can manage."
He couldn't manage. An older Monoma with a diagnosis and medication was royally pissed when he found out they already knew.
"You could have told me! Do you think it was easy?! Do you know how many breakdowns I've had? The difficulties I ran into at school? The issues I've had with my self worth? Of course it's easy for you, but it was 𝘯𝘰𝘵 so for me!"
He loved sweet things with a burning passion
He read the first few chapters of Coraline when he was younger, and only touched the book again when he read it with Reiko in UA.
He accidentally ran headfirst into the world of fanfiction at ten, looked over the edge, underestimated the drop and jumped without a parachute.
He has AO3 (he loves it), Quotev (it's good), Deviantart(rarely uses it), Tumblr (meh, sometimes good) and Wattpad ("why do children keep coming here? I hate this").
Reads fanfiction (and writes it as well) but has a tendency to discontinue or have really long hiatuses
Setsuna keeps harping on and on about a wonderful fanfiction that the author discontinued. Monoma who forgot to update it one time and consequently forgot it existed:
She wasn't pleased when she found out
Oh shoot you wanted childhood hcs
What has this turned into
I'm so sorry I'm vv distracted rn but I feel like I need to post this already (it's been way too long ahzjakksk)

Hey, is Mon allowed on the list? Shiggy's dog?
I actually polled my followers a while back about the addition of joke/object/non-character entries and we came to the decision that any character in the bracket should at least be a human (ignoring any mutation based quirks of course).
I love Mon though. He actually won the april fools joke bracket we had as an outlet for pets, fandom in-jokes, and similar characters.
