q!Jaiden suffers from the same thing that q!Quackity used to in that she doesn't really realize that she's loved and wanted. She always felt bad about using Roier's resources and she obviously still doesn't believe he loves her as much as he does and, in her grief, she's completely isolated herself, much like q!Quackity did. After Bobby died, she thought that she had nobody. We the viewers know that isn't true because she has literally just so many friends, all of whom care for her so fucking much, but she can't see that. She's still grieving Bobby. Without him, she has nothing. She's blinded herself, and by doing so she's exposed herself to the Federation to take advantage of, and she fully knows it. She knows that she's probably being manipulated in some way, but she's just kind of numb to it. Nobody would miss her if she was gone, and everybody is going to hate her if she tells them where she really went. So she's alone, and she's going to continue being alone forever because that's how she's always been.

Been procrastinating doing the Ei quest(s) and its got me thinking how alike she and Ayaka are. Just think about it. Marinate it. Put in the oven for 350° for 15 minutes

Yeah I think Ei and Ayaka (or the Kamisatos in general) were supposed to be mirrors of each other in some way during Inazuma

Like they both lost family (Ei lost her sister, Ayaka lost her mother and father) and were both thrust into a role that they may have not been entirely ready for. But they differ with how they took on that role. (i could write more but i'll stop here lmao)

#i do think a lot about how ayaka and yoimiya's story quests are required for inazuma archon quest #like ayaka's does seem to be about loss in some sort of way and not letting worry/fear hold you back from living #and yoimiya's is about eternity looking different to different people (fireworks are so quick and the exact opposite but the memories stay) #it's really interesting #hi steel!

AU in which Venus, Dream and Nightmare's Mom, gets revived. It's in the Coup Timeline AU where Dream and Nighty rule the kingdom, and also part of @wyrm-in-the-apple's story that crosses it over with the Bad Sanses, where Nighty and Nightmare change roles for like a week so Night's in charge of the HOOLIGANS and Nightmare is in charge of the village.

I really like the headcanon that they were meant to be named "Hope and Dream", like, you know, the undertale "Hopes and dreams", and her intentions got overwritten by the horrible elders that ended up raising the twins.

Uggghhhh the themes of FMA as military based low fantasy steampunk is so fucking good honestly. the "Dog of the Military" tropes it explores have honestly been so good for me as fiction. I love the character exploration and I desperately want to one day create something kind of inspired at least by the ideas and concepts it evokes.

I guess I just have to hope to do a good enough of a job to be able to claim homage or inspiration instead of ripoff lmao, but it's okay to admit to starting here since it definitely counts as a classic.

Sometimes I think about how despite Mario Kart 64 speed runners being able to beat the maps in ridiculous times, they don't have a guaranteed win if they play against the NPCs due to how the rubber banding works in the game.

hiya! Big fan of your fics! I checked out your Ford playlist and I think you got em all except for two:

The first and more minor one is Lovecraft in Brooklyn by the mountain goats. The end part starting with “woke up afraid of my own shadow, like genuinely afraid” makes me think of him in his intense Latino is about Bill in head as blood pours from his eye just UGH the angst potential

then the second (and also my literal favorite song): no children, also by the mountain goats. This is my absolute #1 ford song and it feels like a crime to not have it on there lol. It give me incredibly strong vibes of ford assembling the quantum destabilizer and being ready to die in a blaze of glory with bill. I actually have an entire animation in my head but none or the skills to make it……

Anyways I’m sorry this turned into a whole essay but I strongly recommend you check em out and add em!

THOUGHTS?

So many!! I haven't had the chance to read the script yet in full, but I've been kind of obsessed with that line from Shiv about Kendall being addicted to sex since the episode aired, in no small part because he hasn't really seemed to be? If anything, it feels more like he's addicted to relationships with the way he flits between and clings to Rava, Jennifer and Naomi across the course of the show.

Roman's line about the nanny is especially fun to me on a few fronts though, as I feel like it snakes its way through a lot of the overall themes of the show around parenthood and staff and misplaced intimacy and sex. It's this sort of pinpointing of the way that the Roy's all view the staff as something they're entitled to, but also as something that's supposed to provide this degree of intimacy to them. It's even richer when you add into the fact that there's something inherently oedipal about a man and his nanny, and the way Shiv made those jokes in the finale about Roman and Caroline too before ultimately having Caroline metaphorically fuck them, is just - - yes. Poetic cinema, haha.

It's also interesting to me that Shiv's the one who tells Kendall he's addicted to sex when she's the one who's been shown to be most sexually inclined on the show, and Roman's the one to make the joke about trying to fuck the staff when he's been doing what he's doing with Gerri (and she's not his nanny, of course, but the oedipal territory of looking after him definitely feeds into that sort of dynamic too). It's making me think a lot about where their dysfunction overlaps, but that feels like a whole other post.

I feel like playing splatoon is teaching me how to handle stress in a healthy way and I never would have predicted this. So many things in regards to my relationship with this game I never would have predicted. When the honeymooning period is over (if it ever is) if these effects still persist long term maybe I will write a short personal essay on this whole experience or something. But even if they don’t persist, this is just... such a good experience. I am so glad I get to have this huge foil star sticker in my personal timeline.

body horror is my fave kind of horror. It’s weird, because it’s one of those subgenres that even some people who love horror refuse to watch, but also it’s the type of horror most likely to be in kids cartoons (at least the ones I’ve seen). 

Is it really scary, or is it child-appropriate? Depends on if it’s animated or not I guess!
