2 and 22 for writer asks!
hii! <3
2) How many fics did you work on this year? (They don’t have to be finished or published!)
Technically...11? Wow, that's more than I've ever worked on in a single year much less published 👀 but yeah! There's my 90k Fantasy AU that I wrote for the Byler Big Bang, then I wrote 7 one shots of Byler kissing for Bylerween (suprising fav was probably the vampire AU for day 6), and then three more fics that are as of yet unpublished, but one of which is another one shot (probably dropping later this month), one of which I gave up on after two days, and then my current WIP which is gonna be another long ass Byler Fantasy AU (Isekai edition)!!
22) Share an excerpt from your favorite scene
A favorite favorite scene is hard to decide on considering how much I wrote, but the stargazing scene at the end of Chapter 5 of my Byler Big Bang fic is definitely one of my faves because of the misunderstandings in it and it's one of the peak Will Byers sad boi hours moments and I do love to write a good yearning moment:
It sounds so easy when Mike says it, that Will wants to believe it. They’ll see each other again at the Yuletide. They’ll send letters and still remain friends, distance no match for their bonds. Things change, but that won’t be the end of it. Of them. Cold fingers brush against his, and Will should pull away but doesn’t. A repeat of that night on the tower. Mike had made promises to him then too, about what life would look like now that they were at school, and about how they’d show his less noble cousins by becoming the most powerful adventuring party that the land had ever seen. Will had felt lost in the wide halls of the Conclave’s school, like he wasn’t supposed to be there because he wasn’t born to power like the rest of his peers. Someone had made a mistake letting him enroll. Encouraging him to pursue magic instead of becoming his mother’s apprentice, eventually taking over her customers. But then Mike had come and promised him a future and a place in it, and Will, despite his better judgment, had believed him. He’d held onto Mike’s hand and curled into the other boy, not yet aware of the way his body and his heart would betray him as they hurtled towards adulthood. Not yet aware of how tenuous Mike’s promises were, of how futile Will’s attempts to cling to someone whom he would never be allowed to love the way he wanted to.
