Ballinastoe Woods, Wicklow
It's a scenic wood, perhaps inhabitated by mythological creatures but never a spooky place.
Moss on the trees, soft needle floor and soft sidelighting.
Enchanted, for sure.

just got home from a local arts festival and this is what I've noticed
mediocre contemporary line drawing: $700
actually incredible oil painting of the same size by someone with a fine arts degree: $280
it's totally fine for the first person to price their art at $700 if that's what people will pay for it. but what's not okay imo is for the second piece--requiring far more time and objective skill--to be priced at less.

Flowing water, sculpting rocks both rounded and flat, giving such character to the watercourse.
Fallen leaves provide colour and interest although the greens, yellows, greys and blacks of the river make for plenty of chromatic interest.

❛ being a seattle girl, i like to think i'm immune to rain by now. they don't call it the rainy city for nothing. so, do your worst, scotland. ❜
