Chosam 🌸

So I recently started reading the translation of ROTBB (or ROTMHS) since I was finally able to find a decent one and I started to realize— we know almost nothing about Chosam.

All we really know about him is his age, his sect and ONE personality trait.

However, I started to think on the third “fact” and I just made myself depressed but I’ll get into it a little later.

First: We know Chosam is 15 - 16 years old given the dialogue from both Chung Myung and the author.

Second: He’s from the Beggars Sect, so he clearly doesn’t have the greatest life since we know how the sect is when it comes to finances and many other issues.

And possibly third: The one personality trait we know of him is that he’s probably pretty laidback since he was claimed to be taking a nap while everyone else went to do their thing.

And that’s when I realized…maybe Chosam wasn’t laidback and taking a nap that day.

I started thinking about Mo Xuanyu and how he became the host for Wei Wuxian’s soul, mind, memories, etc, and he gave up his own soul/life to do so by performing the ritual.

So in short— he had to d!e to bring Wei Wuxian back and grant him reincarnation.

And because of that, it got me thinking much further like I’ve said and I immediately started to get overwhelmed by emotions since my weak heart couldn’t take it.

What if Chosam d!ed of starvation?

The boy was described as “skin and bone but no flesh”  and the Beggars sect isn’t like the Mount Hua Sect or any of the others where you can have three meals a day at a table,

You had to go out and beg for food and whatever you get is your meal or two for the day which clearly fvcking sucks by living in those conditions.

Of course, you have to train your inner qi and form your dantian and that takes a lot of energy, so obviously Chung Myung falling on his face after doing so was expected—

But it could also be from malnourishment since he hadn’t eaten anything since he woke up in his second life and due to the descriptions of Chosam’s physique, it’s more heartbreaking.

And obviously life wasn’t ever easy in the Beggars Sect on the surface but Chosam also most likely had to deal with Jong Pal everyday, getting beaten and abused.

It just hurts thinking about this especially since we don’t know anything about the kid but probably enough to think about what he was like before becoming the host for Chung Myung.

I think I’ve reblogged a post about someone talking about this before and I just got so overwhelmed cause of the thoughts of the practically unknown kid that most likely had a rough, horrible life before finally resting when Chung Myung gave him “freedom” .

I’m just imagining now of the small Chosam hugging the grown Chung Myung in their “shared” body, thanking him for letting his body and most likely memory (despite how tiny it may be) live on.

You can still recognize and know a person by appearance despite their personality and soul changing, giving another a second chance.
