New challenge (to establish a daily routine): Creating one new polytope info card after breakfast - each day.

(That is the first page of the list of the polytopes I want to make. (92 Johnson solids will be very very much, and I have to stop myself from thinking about those many solids. but eeeh. we might approach it step by step... )

So, I started the polytope cards project some time in the summer of this year.

I already made all 5 platonic solids,

some regular 4-polytopes (the 4D platonic solids plus the 24-cell that has no 3D sibling),

and the first 4 archimedian solids.

Today I created the truncated octahedron card:

i know people are good because of this: the universe often assigns me side quests. in a circular strangeness; despite my inability to locate my-own-anything, i am almost-always finding someone else's lost things. dogs, coats, phones, cash, laptops. it happens so often it's almost tiring; suddenly being looped into a tiny amount of detective work.

but when i'm with other people who are not used to this: the response is almost invariably delight. yes, maybe they are simply thrilled by the mystery. it's just... they light up so much. i think maybe more... i think they like the opportunity to do something kind.

a few weeks ago, i was at a bar and i found a wallet as soon as we stepped outside. i felt nervous to ask for help, worried i would be holding up the night. i picked it up and said go on without me, i should help this get back to its home.

instead, three people pulled out their phones - to find him on facebook, to help cancel his credit cards. two people went back into the bar to tell the bartender, two others went calling down the street. group texts, facebook posts, instagram stories. people, without even seeing what happened, start offering help to me. fifteen minutes and: someone knows someone who knows the guy. the cheer that went up - just for finding him, just for this small thing. someone gets him on the phone. strangers dance around me, hopping on their feet - are you the girl that found that wallet? good for you, that's a good thing you're doing/same thing happened to me and somebody did what you're doing and i thank god everyday for people like you/i can't believe you found him so fast this is so exciting

i gave it back to him in a parking lot. i watched his shoulders sag with relief. there was cash in it still - he checked the pocket, and then sheepishly held the money out to me. i didn't take it. i held up my hands. "it's no problem, man. i know you'd do the same for me."

i don't know him, to be honest. i don't know if he is the same kind of person i am. but he nodded at me.

and i know people are good. i know people are good, because the way this story ends isn't surprising. we wave goodbye awkwardly. my friend loops their arm around me.

"i can't believe we got it back to him," they said. "i'm going to be riding that high for weeks."

You know what? We need more Good parents Fentons. 

And you know what else? Technically, Jack helped Danny defeat Pariah via the use of the Ecto-Skeleton. And like, that’s his son, his baby boy. Sure Danny is and has always been a mommy’s boy, but it doesn’t change that fact. They’re both already feeling horrible about the fact they could have hurt him, they could have hurt their son- they have hurt their son, killed him with their inaction and never again. 

So when these oversized jello-eyeballs try to insist that their baby, their precious baby boy, take a crown? Become a king when he’s not even out of highschool, when he doesn’t want it? No. Hell no! That is his Danny-o, his baby boy who was terrified of his own parents! 

Which is how Jack, despite technically still being alive even if so-very ecto-contaminated, became the Ghost King. 

And for some reason there’s several ghosts rather happy about this- oh, these are his Danny-O’s ghost-parents? Not-ghost parents seeing as some of them have never been anything but a realm denizen? That’s really fascinating- y’know what, want some fudge and we can exchange childcare- Maddie dear come over and meet our co-parents apparently!  

Now it’s not all easy, but they’re trying their best, and that’s all that can be asked.

Which is perhaps why it’s so exasperating- or as Maddie would put it, downright infuriating- that it is now, almost an entire year and a half later that the Heroes finally arrive to investigate. Well, at least he has plenty of fudge since it’s almost time for the council meeting.

Eldritchrune Character Info - Monster Kid

Name: MK (Monster Kid)  Being: Eldritch Monster Info: A (mostly) subterranean ouroboros, Monster Kid is on the younger and smaller side when it comes to eldritch beasts, and so prefers to just stay out of everyone else’s way. Oftentimes the only hint they’re nearby is a series of spikes cutting through the earth. They feel comfortable enough to pop out and talk to Kris if they’re alone, but are more intimidated by bigger beasts such as Noelle, and especially Susie. They also want to see new things, but don’t necessarily want to leave the comforts of underground, where it’s hard to see anything at all. Abilities: It’s unknown how Monster Kid moves through the earth while grasping their tail, as by all sense of logic it shouldn’t be possible. Their movements cause localized tremors and earthquakes that knock smaller creatures off their feet, making it easier for other eldritch beasts to move in and attack. In certain conditions, they can also create pit traps or quicksand to trap people. While they can let go of their tail in order to speak or eat, finding it again is often a stress for them. The humans they consume add to their already indeterminate length.
