Man I hate how much is required to be safe for women to travel. I have a little trip to go on and there's so much i need to do first like arranging someone to be there, have a companion to go with on the night bus, knowing someone in the other city.
Meanwhile moids just hop on anything and go.
Patriarchy isn't just some scary spectre looming in the distance, it's a real presence that stops our autonomy and freedom

Wow. I'm loving everything this woman is saying. I'm looking at her wikipedia page and really wish I knew about her before now. M. Jacqui Alexander. West Indian feminist. Gotta read more.

Bi girls aren't fruits because everyone expects afabs to just be like that why are you always fetishizing homophobia experienced by gay men
Tumblr media
Seriously though? I love how u used afab and girl interchangably (who you tryna fool sweetpea) and read nothing other than my bio and pinned post. Brb I'll tell my cis ex-boyfriend that the harrassment we experienced for dating was in no way motivated by homophobia, I'll go tell the family members and teachers that threatened me with conversion therapy and institutionalization that I'm *checks notes* not fruity and fetishizing the homophobia experienced by gay men.

Ok i don't know if you're comfortable answering these questions, obv if not then ignore them. So I'm eastern european, I'm not gonna pretend that I know what it's like to be a woman of colour, bc I obviously don't. But I would like to show some support to women who have even more on their plates than women from my country do. I've been donating to womenforwomen to help those in areas affected by war, but I'm looking for more charities focused mostly on lifting women from poverty and giving them access to safe abortions, basically any trusted charities focused on women, from my country i have a hard time checking whether the organisations that are advertised here are actually doing something useful. I'd also like to read some articles/blogs from pov of women in countries like India, China, middle east or from African countries. If you happen to have some links (they don't have to be in English, I believe I can make do with Google translate) I'd really appreciate it. Anyway even if you can't/don't want to answer have a nice day and keep safe, greetings from eastern Europe <3
Hi thank you for your message!
And I unfortunately don’t have any links for you so I’m sorry but I’ll reblog with some to this ask as I keep finding them.
If anyone else has any links/essays please feel free to leave them here as well since I’m interested in this too!

I have always wanted a community and new friends so messages are welcome but please don't be inappropriate.
I'm a femme lover and protector so don't you dare come on this blog and disrespect them or you will be blocked :)

Ok I never get why some girls get defensive over shaving or makeup. Like as a kid I used to shave and when my friend asked why I'd say I don't want to be bullied (I was bullied badly in school) and I want to look attractive. I never thought it was empowering or whatever.
Recently talked to my friend about shaving and she literally got red in the face calling me an anti feminist for not supporting women's choices (to shave...).
Like what's the big deal in accepting it's not feminist or empowering? I just don't get it lol.

(I just realised how long this is after typing it out. my bad, i have a habit of yapping too much 😭. Feel free to ignore this if you want. I love your posts btw i learn a lot thanks to you)
radfems seem to be more successful in korea compared to other regions. they are good at organising and have done public protests where they absolutely don’t hold back, Here’s some footage from a korean feminist protest: https://youtu.be/O4vWycy0sDI?si=2KmBUQ7Jpp9prt_q
The way they don’t care about what people think and just start all out screaming at men is refreshing. They have many radfem forums and groups and the discussions in these websites is so much more practical than what I’ve seen here.
They are very focused on self improvement and achieving economic, political and social success compared to radblr which is more communist and promotes living in a little wooden cabin in the woods with some other women to be more eco friendly. Nothing against communism i just think while we’re already living in a capitalist society promoting communism in female spaces will just lead to women becoming poorer and oppressed further by rich men. And nothing wrong with being eco friendly either but I don’t think women living in a hut will do anything when men still at large continue to destroy the world.
the main website korean women use to organise is called womad. It’s so much better than any feminist forum I’ve ever seen. It’s anonymous and usernames are automatically generated and change every hour or so so that no one can be recognized anywhere. The police have been trying to crackdown on them because of extreme misandry for a long time but all attempts have failed.
From reading their posts it seems almost all of them have a good understanding of politics and economics. Their discussions are productive and they don’t have any infighting like radblr and they don’t let any other social issue distract them from the real enemy which is men. What do you think could be the reason behind this? Are korean women just intellectually superior? I personally feel like korean women have the highest iq of all women. I look up to them a lot and womad has taught me a lot.
They even have a women’s party in korea and they won around 200,000 votes which isn’t a lot but it’s still a huge achievement. Check out womensparty.kr
I wish indian women would catch up. I’m sick of indian moids taking up every inch of space in this country. Every street in india is filled with moids, it’s so dystopian there are no women in sight. One would think only men live here. This is also the reason there’s so much fucking trash in the streets. These overgrown manchildren who have their mommys clean up after them go out and throw trash wherever they see fit and do not bother cleaning because that’s a woman’s job. Women can’t go out to exercise because every public space is occupied by men. I’m so so sick of them.
Power to the korean women! I'm glad you're finding guidance and inspiration in the feminism they lead and that they're so successful, I admire it as well!
I'm standing by indian women and hope they manage to gain freedom! And until they do, we need to prop them up and also be on their side. Only males are our enemies :)

These women are gorgeous and they're being told to settle for guys ranging from basic to ugly. Sima described a couple of the men she's working for as handsome who were average at most. Women deserve to have someone they're physically attracted too, especially when the men are only being showed women who are way out of their league looks wise

I'm Indian and I used to be a radfem, like actively in wombyn's meets and donating to women only shelters for a few years. What changed my mind was that I found, for a radical position, many radfems were racist by omitting any conversation about it. I don't think all radfems are racist but there is an issue of them wanting to focus on "womanhood" as the bigger picture and completely ignoring the racism other women face because they think it's a separate issue. I understand misogyny affects every woman but it's wrong for so many of them to silence conversations about racism as if woc don't face both often at the same time in its own way. And overall it still holds true that woc face more ill effects from society, a lot of white radfems just don't want to accept that they could have any perceived power over anyone. It doesn't mean they're the same as men but they do not notice how the racist misogynist systems against woc are still perpetuated because they refuse to speak out on it or acknowledge the benefits they get from it.
I agree with absolutely everything you've said. Many radfems are deeply racist, hold racist views or are racist, as you said, by refusing to talk about racism because they want to focus on women - which doesn't make sense because not only women of color exist and face racism, but you can acknowledge that all men are oppressors in a patriarchy while also understanding that men of color are oppressed because of racism and fighting against that. Women of color's freedom will exist when they are free from both sexism and racism, and for that we need to fighting sexism but also racism as a whole.
I think this comes from several reasons ;
- many white radfems just don't care about women of color and racism, and many of them literally hate them. it's a terrible thing to say but i have noticed so many racist bullshit. many of this can also be pure ignorance, as i have noticed that many people do not even try to understand racism issues and to learn about poc's experiences.
- radical feminists are often uncomfortable with the idea that they have a privilege and are part of an oppressor class. i have noticed this with opposite sex attracted radfems and white radfems. i remember when i think it was menalez (not sure) made a post about how she hated white women and many white radfems got angry, while they are the firsts to say that women have the right to hate men because men are our oppressors - and well, white people, including white women, also are the oppressors, aren't we ? so it should work that way too. it is not a radical feminism issue, just a white issue in general - the problem isn’t radical feminism but white people not being able to handle the fact that they're (we're) privileged.
- radical feminists are tired of libfems, TRAs and other people in general asking feminists to include everyone in their feminism because it's about EqUalItY and tHe PaTrIaRcHy HuRtS mEn ToO and what not, which i totally understand because i am tired of this shit too, but they react the wrong way. they understand that feminism is for females only but forget that different groups of women face different struggles, ex women of color face racism, and that we have to focus on these struggles and to fight different kind of oppressions if we want all females to be free - which means that feminism has to fight against different forms of misogyny (misogynoir, lesbophobia, etc) and to overlaps with other forms of activism, like anti racism activism, that will include men. it doesn't mean that our feminism include men. nuance.
I am a white woman so I might not be the best person to talk about this but I feel like you can acknowledge all of this while still being a radfem - tho I respect and understand women of color who leave radical feminism because of racism, of course. At the end of the day, the problem is (some) white radfems and their racism, not radical feminism in itself. You can still believe in the theory and doing activism while calling out racism in the community, or even focusing on women of color. You can still donate, talk about feminism, etc. Radical feminism actually needs more women talking about this to improve. I'm really not trying to lecture you, I hope that's not how it sounds! Just giving my opinion because I think it's an interesting topic.
Anyway, I just agree with everything you said and I understand why you did what you did.

I don't really understand why it's so important to people to define these strict and rigid boundaries of who experiences a certain type of oppression, honestly? I'm Indian, but I've faced racism from people who thought I was Hispanic and people who thought I was Muslim, all the same. And yeah, those incidents probably would've impacted people who belong to those communities more, sure, but I don't see how saying that solves anything? Similarly, saying transmisogyny is something only trans women face feels kinda like.... okay? You've decided that, but it won't stop transmisogynistic attacks from being hurled at people who are not trans women. That's still bigotry and it's still a problem, whether it's directed at a trans woman or not. Splitting hairs like this just feels like people trying to validate themselves through the oppression they receive rather than actually doing anything about the system that allows it.
I think you hit the nail on the head: they are trying to validate themselves through the oppression they receive.
It's the same reasoning behind why many radfems are terfs, and why even the ones who aren't, still insist that sexism is the most powerful form of oppression: because they define womanhood as suffering.
People can have valid identities that don't involve suffering. But we glorify suffering in the West, and I gotta say, a lot of that is probably rooted in our version of Christianity.
Starving artists, the idea that suffering is the only way to make good art. The idea that if someone is marginalized in some way, they get to "win" whatever argument they're in.
