what is ur favorite food to make and ur favorite food that you'll never make (as in you'll always go get it from somewhere that does it well cuz its too elaborate/takes time, practice, etc.)

OOH favourite food to make hmm. fried rice of any kind. SO easy, so tasty and u can really go wild with what you put in it. ooh and EGGS ALL WAYS. diner omelettes, french omelettes, scrambled eggs w cheese, akuri, kejriwal, sunny side up (FAVE esp with a little soy sauce), poached eggs, shakshouka...SO MANY MORE EGG DISHES TO DISCOVER AND ENJOY

foods i love but have never made are roomali roti and hyderabadi biryani. also shawarma. definitely dishes/items that take time, effort, practice, as well as specific tools n utensils to make. i do eventually want to try my hand at them and i think i would feel IMMENSE satisfaction upon twirling my first roomali roti without any tears.

Tagged by @inanimatefeast to post the books I'd like to read this year. Thank you, dear! I was actually procrastinating on thinking abt books even though i promised myself i would start reading again this year, so when you tagged me I was kindly reminded of my own promise.

I still have to finish reading through Lord of the Rings, but I'm really looking forward to reading some of the books on this list, specially The Hour of the Star. I've already read Six of Crows but since it is an easy book I thought abt reading it in spanish to help me learn that language.

@inanimatefeast hey tanmai! right now it’s very much still the daisies, like marguerites and gerberas. they are very unassuming and exuberant at the same time. reminds me of those dogs that always look happy just to be alive

my favorite medium of art rn is ceramics. it reminds me of human birth and when u are making smth, be it on the wheel or thru handbuilding, the soft clay can feel like a flesh of some kind. so it is all very intimate, and brings one back to more tender feelings. i love seeing the crazy things glaze can do and find a lot of potential in it as an “intersection” between sculpture and painting. which ppl like to insist is dead :P
