Do you have reccomendations for chicken diapers/how to make them/use them properly/etc? (Or links to pre-existing resources? ) Tyyyy

Lushandruffle (previously LuxuryChickenDiapers) makes my favorite diaper which is adjustable and water proof.

Pamperyourpoultry is my least favorite chicken diaper. They are not adjustable and can take a bird a while to get used to but they are very durable and easy to clean but not waterproof.

There are a few other diaper makers on etsy but i havent got to try them out yet.

A simple disposable face mask can also be a temporary chicken diaper, so can a sock.

Unlike pigeons chickens can handle being diapered for more then a couple of hours but they should still have their diaper changed often, you wouldnt let a baby sit in a dirty diaper for hours at a time and pet shouldnt either.

The birds vent area should be cleaned if it gets dirty between changings this is for hygiene reasons as the moisture of the diaper can contribute to bacterial growth and vent gleet. A baby wipe or a quick wash and blow dry in the sink goes a long way.

If a bird develops chafing or irritation it means the bird is wearing the diaper to much and you will need to undiaper the bird intill it heals. Diaper rash cream (without pain relief) can be helpful if it does happen.

Its good for the bird to have its own place to sleep at night so you can undiaper it but diaperless time doesnt have to happen at night (if you like sleeping with your chicken for example) but as long as its for a good few hours even during the day bird will appreciate it.

Basically the same thing with human babies lol they gotta air out sometimes

Its also recommended that birds do not share diapers but as long as you have proper diaper sanitation this isnt a issue i suggest buying a laundry detergent specifically made for washing cloth diapers as they have enzymes that destroy poop. You dont NEED it but it makes it extremely easy to wash dirty diapers. I wash my diapers in the sink then either hang them to dry or stick them on the dehumidifier (most diapers need to be handwashed and cant be thrown into the laundry anyway)

I also say its a good rule of thumb to have 2 diapers per bird so in case one gets soiled or broken you have a back up.

2. when was the last time you cried? This morning I think?! Time goes way too fast to keep track!

3. do you like your handwriting? Some days it ain’t too bad, all curvy and shit, other days I would not tell you what on Earth it says!

4. what is your favorite lunch meat? I love a good dry salami, and yes I know the nutritional value, no need for speeches, lol!

5. do you have kids? Hell no, but I have a bro who’s 10 years younger and I pretty much raised him, does that count?! @elopingwithkarofsky

6. if you were another person, would you be friends with you? I’ve thought about this before and I have to say that socially, yes, but probably wouldn’t be too close since we’d get on each other’s nerves with the same peeves and such.

7. do you use sarcasm? Nooooooo, never.

9. would you bungee jump? Up until 2 weeks ago, I couldn’t wait to try it. Then I found out most insurances don’t cover any injuries sustained doing this, and other, “high risk” activities....damn shame.

10. what is your favorite kind of cereal? I’m a child but I do a happy wiggle any time I get to eat Cap’n Crunch or Lucky Charms...

11. do you untie your shoes when you take them off? Good grief no, unless I have to.

12. do you think you’re a strong person? I like to think I am but I’m really not. Though I did come through a lot of crap in the last few years and it definitely made me stronger. Let’s say I’m working on it and it’s getting better...

13. what is your favorite ice cream flavor? Mint chocolate chip wins me over every time, or a homemade flavour at a local ice cream shop called camp fire, which is literally vanilla, really roasted marshmallow, and graham crackers crumbled. The moises I make when eating that shit are obscene...

16. what is your favorite physical thing you like about yourself? Ugh I hate these. I wanna answer nothing but having to choose I would say eyes.

21. favorite smell? Clean laundry, baking bread, my grandmother’s kitchen before she passed away.

23. favorite sport to watch? Probably hockey but I’m not a die hard fan of any particular sport, though I can get caught up during the Olympics.

24. hair color? Was born mostly blonde now I’m light/dark brown.

26. do you wear contacts? Nope, but I do wear glasses (blind as a bat without ‘em).

27. favorite food to eat? Warm bread with butter, a good pizza, or butter chicken and naan.

31. summer or winter? Oh man, both dude! Each has perks, and I always look forward to other during each season, lol! But fall is hands down my fave...

32. hugs or kisses? Hugs, always. Kisses would be nice and are wonderful but can’t be shared with as many people...at least, not without charges being pressed.
