haven't uploaded new art in a while but this was a big labor of love, my shadowrun ballerina shaman Imizael. This image has been in my head for a while and I've been putting it off, but seeing a buddy's art made me want to try studing his style. Either it's a real carousel or a spirit of man idk, but I think if I went back and redesigned her spirits to be more interesting this would get added to the rotation.

This was kind of peak Real Bad Times for her but things are getting better. They'll probably get worse again, but they'll be better for a minute or two at least.

Answering both these for my Shadowrun gal, Imizael!

2. Hard to say she's very what you see is what you get, but I think the thing people would least expect about her is how sturdy she is. I don't think sturdy is the right word but it's the word I'll use. She's got a stupid high pain tolerance and refuses to die, she's a glass canon for sure but that glass is bullet-proof. She's like a sparkly terminator if you don't take her out fast enough.

17. I think Imi's whole backstory is the worst thing I put her through.

tldr she was extremely talented in her ballet classes as a child and was abducted by an anti-cyberware cult when she was 11. The cult that wanted to prove flesh was stronger than metal, so the next 30+ years of her life was daily tortuous ballet training to prove a point.

A point that she doesn't even believe in; like she wouldn't get cyberware now because it would fuck with her magic, but she thinks cyberware is neat and doesn't see a reason to be so violently against it.

I won't detail the cult here but it was a nightmare she lived in and absolutely one of the worst things I've done to a character.

Imizael is having a bit of a nervous breakdown after her last run, made some questionable decisions that she hasn't told her team about. We'll see how well she holds up on today's shadowrun.

Finally posting this and I probably won’t shut up about it for a while. I worked on this on and off for several months, a style test trying to see how well I could make Ariel ZB’s style mesh with mine. It’s based on a sweet conversation my shadowrun shaman had with her toxic shaman bestie (it’s fine, it’s fine, it’s totally fine and won’t end in tears) There’s things I’d like to have done different/stuff I learned doing this, but I had to put it down.

this has taken FOREVER but more shit of my shadowrun character and her buff murderdwarf man, mostly to show off their obscene height difference lmao. But this is one of my favorite moments they’ve had so far.

She pushed it too far with a summoning in a magically rough area, ate about 1/3 of her hitpoints in drain in one go and decided to keep powering through and try again. 

Then the very rough tough rude man gave her his handkerchief and that made it a little better lol

I borrowed a few art nouveau locket designs and smashed them together to get the perfect design for Imizael’s new centering focus. Because I’m a sap it’s got pic of her and her murderous gangster dwarf boyfriend who, beyond all sense or reason, has captured her frail little heart.
